Wow, mechanics-wise, this is pretty big news. I was a bit concerned that you'd have to 'waste' a turn to Mega-Evolve (which, compared with just using a boosting move + Life Orb, would have made Mega Evolutions kind of bad for the most part). However, now that we know you can Mega Evolve AND use an attack in the same turn, it's actually amazing - as others have said, this mechanic allows Mawile to both abuse Intimidate, and then Mega-Evolve to get Huge Power, while landing a big hit in the same turn. The only downside I see is that Mawile can't use it's dual Fairy typing straight from the get-go to absorb Dragon-type moves. But then again, if the MegaEvos stick even after you've switched, then this is only a one-time concern.

Also, the confirmation of Fire resisting Fairy is kind of interesting. There aren't heaps of defensive fire-types in OU for which this really matters - but oh man, Heatran looks like it's still going to be pretty great next gen; and this does give Volcarona some set-up opportunities I suppose. Also, in Ubers, this is pretty good news for Ho-Oh, as he already has great bulk + Regenerator, so getting another resistance is pretty fantastic.
You do realize that Mawile (non Mega) also has Fairy typing right?

Now that we know Mega Evolutions need to give up a move slot and held item to Mega Evolve, maybe they're not as powerful as we originally thought they'd be?

I thought regular Mawile was getting retyped to Steel/Fairy as well.

...

...

No Sir, no I did not.
*Awkward silence*

In that case, Mawile looks like it'll just be pretty awesome all around then. I suppose it still has to be able to switch in with it's otherwise unimpressive stats before Megaevolving but... eh. I suppose it'll also be pretty important whether you MegaEvolve at the beginning/ end of turn or what too, as well as what kind of boosts it gets. But all that aside, yeah, Mawile is basically getting everything it could've wanted right now.

Apparently stat screens are locked out from the demo according to Serebii.

Shame.

Shame indeed.

I didn't hear that they had to give up a moveslot.
We've been told there is a separate button for MegaEvolution.
It seems as if you might even be able to choose to MegaEvolve while switching (can anyone confirm).

No move slot is given up.

So GF told us that we can only have one Mega on a team at a time correct? How will this work if a Mega faints? Will we be able to evolve another, or is that it?

Is this just promotional art or hint for a new game or something? I'm kinda confused to what it is.

My favorite theory is that the game will stop you from equipping more than one Pokémon in your party with a Mega Stone.
If not that, then perhaps the game will recognize that you have activated a MEvo'd Pokémon, so any other Pokémon in your party that could MEvo will be unable to

Probably an image of an in-development console battler

I'm kinda "ehhh" on this one. It would be weird if just Pikachu got it, wouldn't it? Plus, I liked the cries because they gave each Pokemon individuality.
They do this in Yellow, but only YOUR original Pikachu does it IIRC. Weird that they're doing it now.

No moveslot, eh? My bad. Can someone visit this page and translate what it says regarding the Mega Mewtwo - Dragonite battle? Seems to mention damage percentages. Maybe we can calculate Mega Mewtwo's Stats?

I agree. But I feel that after evolving it can attack on the same turn after watching this trailer. I get this feeling that mega-evolution gives this vibe of "wildcard", to keep the surprise factor. Imagine every team having one "wildcard" mega-evolution that you can choose when you want to reveal. If it was instantaneous, it wouldn't really feel very "wildcard-like" as it would ruin the surprise if it was roared/whirlwinded in. It would make battles a lot more exciting.

Looks like katakiri and I were right about megaevolution mechanics.

My thoughts as well. Looks like we're getting Pokemon... uh.. Arena? Battle Explosion? Either way, it looks very pretty. The real life inspired backgrounds are a nice change from the o'll stadiums.

It looks like Pokemon in HD... maybe Stadium U or PBR U or something. IT LOOKS GORGEOUS THOUGH

Also, the way this is going, Mawile may end up becoming the next Pikachu given how epic its MEvo is. If you want to use a different MEvo then Mawile's useless but still. Unless there's really good reason to use MegaBlaziken over my Wide Lens or a Life Orb Blaziken, MegaMawile's easily my favorite of the bunch.

Now You're just jumping the gun. You can't really calculate anything using three screenshots that don't show what happens after the attack.
And those quips below each screenshot probably explain how to use MEvo and what happens on the turn you use it.

I'm curious about the Friendliness, Hunger and Play stats in PokeAmie. I also want to know how you obtain Pofures and what benefits they have outside of PokeAmie

No, I used Google to get a rough translation and it mentioned "30 - 40% damage" or something in the paragraphs (Not the quips below). I couldn't understand the rest of it because of bad translation.

He's talking about the page talking about %s

Just glancing at google translate, I think he's just giving impressions of how much damage the Pokemon are taking

I think the most important question is whether or not we will be getting this demo over the e-shop. I understand them having for the moment only made them available in Japan and specific gameshows, but I feel as though now that they have a demo already put together it would just be common sense to make it more widely available, and increase the amount of people who are foaming at the mouth for this game (like me) :D

Oh that web page also mentions that Bunnelby, Skitty and.......Exeggutor (?!) are found in the wild there

So that's neat

Maybe you have to feed your Pokemon when they get hunger?

Also, the battle with the graphic different from x and y looks like Pokemon Street Fighter.

MEvo's seem to be a more convenient version of Meloetta's Relic Song, because it doesn't eat up a moveslot and (ideally) increases stats instead of reorganizing base stat levels to match the normal form's BST. It's a form change that happens in-battle, so that implies that there's no way of a MEvo'd Pokémon having the time to adapt and gain an edited moveset from its normal form, like how Meloetta never naturally being in her Pirouette form wouldn't have the time to adapt and create a second movelist to learn as she levels up, unlike deoxys or Kyurem, whom you can actively train in any of their available forms, and learn new moves based on their state of being because their form changes CAN be permanent.

To summarize, DON'T JINX IT

I wonder if they would be ever so kind as to retcon Meloetta-P and make it a MegaEvo. I don't care if it has two ways of changing formes (Relic Song and Melonite), just MAKE HER USEFUL DAMNIT

Exp. points required to level-up?

HP stat. Considering it's at level 30 and all demo pokémon seem to have 0 IV... Fennekin has a 55-56 base HP. Charmander has 39, Cyndaquil has 39, Torchic has 45, Chimchar has 44, Tepig has 65.

I'm betting on 95 base HP for Fennekin3.
