Since the keys are just given to Klefki I don't think its name comes from kleptomaniac. It seems more likely that it comes from clef, the French for key.

Incidentally this makes its floating around and unlocking things for you Keykey's Delivery Service.

It's probably both. I doubt wild ones are just *given* keys, for instance.

I never imagined anything could surpass the cuteness and personality of some of the familiars in Ni no Kuni, but boy, Game Freak has proven me wrong. The evolution of Flabebe and Klefki are absolutely adorable. They have wonderful expressions. I don't care if Klefki is just a set of keys. It has more personality than most Pokemon do. It's not generic in the slightest. It even has a kickass typing if you're into the competitive implications. Previously, I was unsure if I would like any of the Fairy Pokemon, but Flabebe, Klefki, and that little Rock/Fairy thing are excellent examples of carefree designs.

I think that item will only let you change between the natural abilities of that species, maybe the hidden ability too. Let a pokemon pick any ability sound too much for me. But well, this is GF

Yeah, Ivs are responsible for the reason breeding is just plain silly if you play competitively. Shoot...i'd be happy if they took out IVs altogether and used a different method for hidden powers.

it makes sense, since you can gain abilities if you practice them. if it's completely free, the strategical level of competitivr battling skyrocketed, since it will be really hard to know what's coming. imagine a Charizard with that ability that reduces physical damage. no more worries with SR

Or the less insane option of "changes your ability to one of your other abilities" is the correct option.

iv is the main reason of hackmon, rng and such. if they remove it, or give us a way to see and modify it, it's gonna get even more fun to prepare a competitive team
