Other Silly Things You've Seen On The OU Ladder: V2

Actually, you're right. It was lower on the latter, so risky predictions, like what I made, aren't that common. But I knew Darmanitan couldn't do anything to me, and since everything on his team except from Hawlucha, was weak to Rock, Stone Edge seemed the best option.

And with offensive Zapdos, we reach another Florges v. Sylveon debate. Neither is bad, it's just outclassed.

I guess the main point of my replay was his bickering over my stall team, which included offensive Roserade, Charizard-X, and Clefable. Not really stally.
Well, the real problem there is that he's running 4 mons weak to Rock, including all three Legendary Birds on the same team. And of course if Articuno isn't Scarfed, it doesn't have a chance vs. Garchomp anyway even if it can get a free switch-in.

So yes, your move of using Stone Edge was indeed the best one thanks to most of his team being Flying. Of course, if I were him I probably would've kept Darmanitan in and sacked it to get something else in untouched (like that Air Balloon Electivire, who would go straight for Ice Punch while you're forced to use Stone Edge, provided you don't carry Outrage), especially if my team had a crippling weakness to your coverage move.

Together with a faget user known as Molk, I decided to ladder with a silly team of 3 frisk mons with u-turn and the 3 mons that can get transform and imposter legally to answer the question everyone wants to know: What the fuck is the low ladder using

Sadly we missed the items for some, but we still managed to get a few screenshots of

worthy sets
Screenshots taken by Molk, Passion , SteelEdges and myself. Logs present when the user using these forfeited forfeited before we could get the transform out to get its full set.

Alright people, be honest, is my (winning) team really full on stall? I don't think so. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-96381340

My opponents' odd plays/decisions include using return on Moltres, setting up SD's on Charizard X, using an offensive zapdos, and switching Articuno in on garchomp.

LOL at "Guillermo". The 4x Atk boost -> OHKOed with Thunder punched was hilarious. And the guy talking shit constantly. Man that was funny.

FlameUser64 ... Papa?

Silliest thing I found on the ladder? Diggersby. Adamant Huge Power. I used it, and it is so weak.
Really? It has higher attack than Azumarill, who definitely isn't weak. I wouldn't really say it's silly to use it, as it's currently B rank on the viability list.

Anyway, I went to the list of replays, and the first one I saw was this. Enjoy.

It just has a crappy typing, and Quick Attack + EQ < Aqua Jet + Play Rough. On the other hand, Adamant Huge Power Diggersby's Earthquake is more powerful than freakin' Groudon's, so that's a thing.

There's nothing wrong with using drizzle and drought on the same team. Especially when the drought user is someone good like charizard Y. It's why some ubers teams use groudon and kyogre on the same team.

People use Groudon and Kyogre on the same team because Groudon and Kyogre are both good Pokemon. What I'm wondering is, why use Politoed in OU at all if Drizzle is not at all benefiting your team? The fact that it tried to Toxic my Scizor didn't help my opinion of it.

Specs politoad hits really hard and is reasonably bulky. Dont know why a support set would be used though.

The Guy with ditto. These sets aren't even silly for the most part... Ambipom is a little wonky with the fury swipes, weavile with counter, and hidden power dark is a little weird, and focus blast poliwrath, but other than that, most of the sets are pretty much viable. Minus the fact that its a tropious...

as a bit of a follow up to trop's post, i passed this team around to a few other people including user Casedvictory, we watched him ladder for a few games and found well......these two things, both vs the same player.

Focus Sash Dragonite was weirder. I mean, short of STAB Ice Beam what can fucking OHKO it.

252 SpA Pixilate Mega Gardevoir Hyper Voice vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Multiscale Dragonite: 229-270 (70.6 - 83.3%)

That can't, for starters.

I think he was just keeping with the theme of FOCUS SASH ON EVERYTHING.

Air Baloon Staraptor, Talonflame, Landorus-I and Scolipede.
He quitted before using Terrakion, so maybe not everything was balooned.

Featuring a number of hilariously bad movesets/plays. What's funny is that team doesn't seem awful in the team preview; but wait until they start attacking.

  • Gliscor without Toxic Orb. This would've been acceptable last gen, but with no Flying Gem, offensive Gliscor sets are now irrelevant. Probably had Leftovers or something stupid like Shell Bell.
  • Attempting to set up CM Espeon on my Escavalier.
  • SD + Shadow Sneak Aegislash with QUICK CLAW -___-
  • Togekiss with Psychic, and used Thunder Wave on my Rotom-W (doubt he/she predicted me to switch)
  • He brought in his Mega Charizard X on my paralysed Mega Charizard X and fucking used ThunderPunch... (misclicked or doesn't know the type chart - probably the latter)
  • Flame Charge Talonflame to finish.

The others are stupid, but this one is actually okay (not a good idea, mind you), because of one key incompatibility: Defog and Poison Heal on Gliscor.

Prepare for the greatest brand-new completely terrible trends to overtake the metagame! These include:

-Magic Coat Espeon (the move Magic Coat) with no Psychic STAB and Iron Tail
-Bulk Up Sludge Bomb Thundurus-T
-Dragonite with Flamethrower...and no dragon moves, presumably

-Dark Pulse Gliscor
-Attract Azumarill (pointless with gender randomization)
-Repeated attempts to use poison-type moves on Steels

Best of all, though:

Garchomp has Mega Evolved into Mega Garchomp!

The opposing Dragonite used Roost!
The opposing Dragonite regained health!

Garchomp used Dragon Pulse!
It's super effective! The opposing Dragonite lost 66% of its health!
The opposing Dragonite's Weakness Policy activated!
The Weakness Policy sharply raised the opposing Dragonite's Attack!
The Weakness Policy sharply raised the opposing Dragonite's Special Attack!
Turn 23

cool yolo21 withdrew Dragonite!

Throwing away boosted attacks is a tactic of true men

I can't believe I have to stop being a spectator again, but I've come across something so silly it just has to be shared.
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-96593833
Highlights:
> Destiny Bond Aegislash, possibly with HP Electric
> Flamethrower Aggron?? And it managed to burn!?? D:
> Yes, let's stack up ALL the statuses! Because using Toxic on a Burned Pokemon is possible, yup yup.
> Non-mega, physical Charizard. Heck, he doesn't even have a mega. (Though I think this point applies to me too)

Note: I'm TheApokelypse, and I have a reason for such a weird looking team! Let's just say I'm running an experiment using teams I find in fiction. Yeah. That should do.

Here's a thing you missed:

Jewel frisked the opposing Charizard and found its Burn Drive!

I ran into a team with shit Pokemon and an Absol, which I assumed was its best Pokemon because Mega Evolutions. But, no, it was the always crit one, and it...
swept my team ;-;.
