This is by far my favorite character update. King Dedede has always been my favorite Kirby character and I'm glad he's finally shown up in Brawl ^_^

<3 Kirby's King Dedede hat is so adorable.
 
Looks like Nintendo saw all the positive reaction towards MetaKnights inclusion and decided to give the Kirby fans something else to cheer about. Love it.

I wonder if he'll have floaty powers like Kirby, since he has then in Kirby Superstar's Great Race, and does have a suck-in attack.
 
Woah, I never expected King Dedede to actually make it to brawl o.O

Erm... Sonic, Metaknight, King Dedede, Diddy, Ike, Pit, and Pokemon trainer... I think this update covers everyone I wanted in Brawl. (Those who want Megaman can still play Marvel vs Capcom :-p)
 
King Dedede… this just made my day.

Will he have multiple jumps like Kirby? I certainly hope so.

But what will be his Up B? I can't think of anything right now…

Actually guys I haven't played any of Kirby's games except like, the original one for the Gameboy. Can someone clue me in on potential moves he may have? All I can remember is that he has multiple jumps and had a ground pound attack like Yoshi.

During some of the later games he copies some of Kirby's abilities, like floating and inhaling. Don't know if those will be in the game though.

They'd have to be, they're essentially his signature moves, he's had them from the beginning like Kirby =D. Just think of it; a heavyweight with multiple jumps like Kirby! How exciting....

But yeah, list some potential moves guys, I wanna see what he's capable of with his hammer.
 
I'm willing to bet that he is basically a Kirby clone, only a fuckload bigger. Kirby has a hammer as well. They both float. They both suck enemies in their mouths. At the very least, he'd be what Luigi is for Mario in Melee... similar in a few ways, but still different in others.
 
I would see his hammer being a much more integral part of his moveset than it is with Kirby's. He may also have a ground pound-esque move. If they were to give him a copy ability, cloneness could be averted by assigning it to a different B.

I can't FAP. Why?
  1. I'm still evacuated.
  2. I'm not using my connection from Home. HughesNet.
  3. I'm using real a broadband connection.
  4. Also, I just found out this morning at 11:07am, PDT.
So don't say stupid things!
 
Dedede probably will only have suck / blow. Dedede can't copy abilities, right? The hammer has been with dedede longer than with Kirby (Hammer Kirby is a copied ability, he'll just have to copy it from dedede :-p)

I'd imagine him closer to the ice climbers in terms of attacks. Swing hammer, swing hammer harder, and a few kirby abilities.
