Pokemon Let's Go: the first pokemon game that encourages pokemon obesity D:Near the end, each additional Speed point required ~16 Quick Candies... so the cost definitely adds up quickly. It took 424 candies to get the message above.

They tecnically already exist in games, it's Vitamines basically, except they are locked to max 100 EV.I find candies a nice adition, maybe they should keep them? Just merge them with EVs
Yes, but they are stupidly expensive while Candies cost you transfersThey tecnically already exist in games, it's Vitamines basically, except they are locked to max 100 EV.
I do agree that uncapping vitamines would make EVing mons significantly less of a chore.

They still cost like 9600 or something, I usually end at around 300-500k, enough for a few PokemonI wouldn't say uncapping, but I don't think there would be a major problem if they allowed each stat to have an additional 200 EV limit instead of all stats sharing a total of 510 EVs.
By the end of the game you're usually rolling in money that you have nothing to spend with. Not to mention there's a ton of other ways to increase a Pokemon's EVs, Vitamins is just the quickest.
Vitamines can also be bought with BPs which people who do play postgame end up vomiting, as well as money anyway. I was sitting on millions in USUM and SM by now, I have a hard time seeing postgame money in main games as a problem :PThey still cost like 9600 or something, I usually end at around 300-500k, enough for a few Pokemon
And I didnt mean adding another 200 Candy EVs, I meant that candies could just be another way to get standard EVs

A few minutes. Fortunately you can actually disable the cutscenes to make this go faster (probably bringing it down to around a minute). Annoying, but manageable. How long does it take to see your Starter's Nature after the cutscene its caught? Getting flashbacks of getting Gen VII's Starters and having to wait through minutes of cutscenes to see if you got at least a decent Nature. *sigh*
You're already assuming too much with "competitive on console". The game has no battle spot, you can only battle actual friends in friendlist, and games are excessively long for any sort of even casual play.Does anybody know if the battle timer can be turned off in friend battles? It's only 20 minutes (which makes no sense when the mons are so bulky), and it counts animations. If it can't be turned off, the only "competitive" on the console will be competitive timer stall.
Yes, the gender of your starter is set during the initial cutscene. I reset about 20 times and they were all female.During the game's opening cutscenes, did anyone see that their starter was a specific gender? When I started the game I got a female Pikachu, and it had the corresponding sprite during cutscenes before I even caught it. Does this mean the gender of your starter is predetermined by GF before you even start playing the game, or are the genders random? Also, if the latter is the case, wouldn't it be so much easier to hunt for a shiny starter (assuming they aren't shinylocked)?
You can battle with friends and still be competitive about it. I know there is no battle spot. I wasn't "assuming" anything, I just wanted to know if it is even feasible to have a real battle with your friends on the console (which is impossible if the timer can't be turned off). I was asking a question about the timer rather than asserting an assumption, and your post did not answer my question. Battling on the console might be preferable to some people over battling on Showdown because the graphics are a little nicer. You're already assuming too much with "competitive on console". Assuming people don't get bored within a week as I predicted, the only "competitive" you'll ever see for Let's Go is either on showdown (if it ever gets its own mode) or nexus.
Vitamines not only are cheap if you pay in BPs, they also aren't needed. In the last generation you can maximize a Stat EV dealing 7 times with the same Pokémon. You can, and this is not an exageration, give 510 EVs to any Pokémon in less than 10 minutes. I think they shouldn't even consider alternative methods to EV Training anymore. It's fine and it's fast.
"Normal" rules would actually lead to a more interesting gameplay imo :PSo there are two sets of rules. Normal Rules and No Restrictions. Normal Rules puts everything to level 50 and removes Candy Boost. It's still 6 v 6 singles. And unrestricted lets you have any levels and candy boosts. So as long as you play by normal rules then everything won't be bulky.

They should. The least time-demanding, the better. It doesn't matter if it's fast - the problem is that it's repetitive.
Poke Pelago was a great idea in terms of letting you EV train without you even having the console on, but it was too slow.
There's quite a big difference between grinding EVs and actually enjoying the game, dont you think?I don't agree with this at all. There's a balance between playability and in-game goals. My goal is to complete the game and see the credits, but I also want a well designed experiencie. If the argument is going to be "the least time-demanding, the better", I could very well say that the game should have less content or every mechanic should be simplified to the extreme, because "the least time-demanding, the better".
Pokémon main story shouldn't be a tutorial. In fact, if we are going by the "shortest way is always the prefferred method", nothing stops me from claiming that the entire EV System should be revamped in a way that EVs no longer exist. You simply select the Stats you desire and that's all. I also don't want Natures or IVs, of course, everything related to them is also detrimental to the game, because it consumes time (that means no Daycare and, by extension, no breeding too). When you capture a Pokémon, a screen appears that allows you to select the Pokémon Nature, IVs, Stats, Movements -Moves are no longer level-related, you can select what 4 moves you want in your Pokémon, because leveling also consumes time and we want to be competitive as fast as possible-; everything related to the Pokémon Statistics, from the movements it learns to the IVs, Nature or EVs is has, should be like Pokémon Showdown.
I mean if we really want to make the game less demanding it should just automatically cut to the credits as soon as you start. Obviously there are parts of the game that take up time because they’re just part of the experience; the point is that having to do something tedious and repetitive for a long time is not generally considered good design. I think you’re taking a lot of posts here very literally instead of understanding context, not sure if it’s a language barrier or what but it seems obvious the poster did not mean “nothing in the game should ever take time away from getting me closer to seeing the credits roll.”I don't agree with this at all.
