Premise

One of the main aspects of Pokémon is evolving. Since the very beginning, back in RBY, we saw our Pokémon evolve to the next stage of what we call "evolutionary line". They give Pokémon new moves/abilities/typing and also stats! But what if we could cross these evolutionary lines? That's what you can do here!

You can switch it by nicknaming your mon the name of the line you want. It gives the new stats and access of a maximum of 2 moves from the evolutionary lines' movepool. Abilities are replaced by the final form abilities. If the evolution gets a new secondary typing, the cross-evolved Pokémon will get it too (or replace its old second type).
Complicated? Want an example? Ok!

Klang is a Stage 2 that can evolve into a Stage 3, so it can "cross-evolve" with a Stage 3 Pokémon such as Gallade. Gallade has +30 HP, +90 Attack, +30 Defense, equal Special Attack, +60 Special Defense and +30 Speed than Kirlia. Its abilities are Steadfast and Justified, and it gains a secondary Fighting-type. The result of cross-evolving Klang into Gallade is as follows:

Klang (cross-evolved into Gallade)
New Abilities (completely replaces old ability pool): Steadfast/Justified
New Stats: 90/170/125/70/145/80
New typing: Steel/Fighting

In addition to this, Klang will gain access to 2 moves of your choice from Gallade's movepool.

Mechanics

To cross-evolve in the teambuilder, nickname the base Pokemon after the evolution. In the case of Klang-Gallade, for example, give a Klang the nickname "Gallade". If you want to see the stats of any cross-evolution, the /ce command is very helpful!
  • You can "cross-evolve" your Pokemon by naming them after the intended Pokemon.
  • Stat, typing, and ability changes granted by any evolution are determined by their respective changes from their prevo. For example, Corphish has 43/80/65/50/35/35 stats and is pure Water while Crawdaunt has 63/120/85/90/55/55 with a Water/Dark typing. If you
  • were to evolve something into Crawdaunt it would gain +20 HP, +40 Attack, +20 Defense, +40 Special Attack, +20 Special Defense, and +20 Speed as well as a secondary Dark-type.
  • Evolution is limited so that only Pokemon that are able to evolve may do so, and they must follow evolutionary stages. Stage 1's encompass most of the LCs and may only evolve into Stage 2's, while Stage 2's are primarily NFE and may only evolve into Stage 3. Ponyta-Galar is a Stage 1 Pokemon and can evolve into any Stage 2 but it cannot evolve into a Stage 3, so you couldn't evolve it into a Stage 3 like Gallade or Charizard, but you use Stage 2's like Umbreon or Charmeleon. This applies to Stage 2's as well.
  • In case of confusion, both EV and tehy worked on these awesome visuals which might help you out:
    Stage 1 Charmander
    Stage 2 Snorlax ✔
This is a legal evolution because Charmander is a Stage 1 and can evolve under normal circumstances.
    Stage 2 Charmeleon
    Stage 2 Snorlax
This is an illegal evolution because Charmeleon is a Stage 2 and cannot evolve into another Stage 2.
    Stage 3 Charizard
    Stage 2 Snorlax
This is an illegal evolution because Charizard cannot evolve under normal circumstances.
    Stage 2 Dusclops
    Stage 3 Charizard ✔
This is a legal evolution because Dusclops is a Stage 2 and can evolve under normal circumstances.
    Stage 2 Snorlax
    Stage 3 Charizard
This is an illegal evolution because Snorlax cannot evolve under normal circumstances.
    Stage 1 Munchlax
    Stage 3 Charizard
This is an illegal evolution because Munchlax is a Stage 1 and cannot evolve into a Stage 3 Pokemon.
  • Cross-evolved Pokémon get the abilities from the line they chose. So for example, crossing Haunter with Hydreigon or Clefable, respectively, you gain access to Levitate if you choose hydreigon or Magic Guard/Unaware/Cute charm as possible abilities if you choose Clefable and so on.
  • Cross-evolved Pokémon have the movepool of the base Pokémon. You can inherit up to 2 moves from the cross-evolution as well.
  • Move and ability illegallities are ignored on cross-evolved Pokémon.

F.A.Q.

Q: How does Eviolite work?
A: Eviolite does not work on any cross-evolved Pokémon.

Q: What about signature items, such as Light Ball or Thick Club?
A: They only work on vanilla Pikachu and vanilla Cubone/Marowak (and their Alolan forms), respectively. Again, they don't work on any cross-evolved Pokémon, even if it's nicknamed "Marowak", or it's Pikachu with another nickname, etc.

Q: Is weight affected? What if my cross-evolution's weight drops below 0?
A: Weight changes weren't considered for the initial metagame, yet they are implemented. If weight drops below 0 when cross-evolving, it is set to 0.1 kg.

Q: Why is _____ moveset illegal?
A: Make sure you didn't inherit more than 2 moves from the cross-evolution.

Q: How do I view cross evolution data on Pokemon Showdown?
A: The /ce [base], [evolution] command will show you the complete stats of a given cross evolution, while the /showevo [evolved Pokemon] command will show you the stats, abilities, and typings provided by any given evolution.

With my experience in BH, Octolock is a really good stallbreaker and wallbreaker, so I tried to find a good Grapploct crevolution and this is what I came up with. Substitute dodges status, Protect dodges attacks, and Taunt dodges status without lowering HP. Bite and Icicle Crash are good STABs and conveniently have a good chance of flinching for an extra Octolock drop.

Really slow for a setup sweeper but it has a really good offensive typing and stats. With some team support (Memento on hyper offense, maybe), it could work out.

A really fat version of Dusclops crevolutions, practically built to beat any physical attacker. Better bring Substitute, Taunt, or something else against this.

Grapploct (Sneasel) @ Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Octolock
- Substitute / Protect / Taunt
- Bite
- Icicle Crash
Stats: 85/145/85/55/105/125
With my experience in BH, Octolock is a really good stallbreaker and wallbreaker, so I tried to find a good Grapploct crevolution and this is what I came up with. Substitute dodges status, Protect dodges attacks, and Taunt dodges status without lowering HP. Bite and Icicle Crash are good STABs and conveniently have a good chance of flinching for an extra Octolock drop.

:gyarados:
Gyarados (Farfetch'd-Galar) @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate / Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Close Combat
- Brave Bird
- Taunt / Ice Fang / Earthquake
Stats: 127/210/79/103/142/56
Really slow for a setup sweeper but it has a really good offensive typing and stats. With some team support (Memento on hyper offense, maybe), it could work out.

:hitmontop:

- Haze? idk
Stats: 75/115/160/65/175/65
A really fat version of Dusclops crevolutions, practically built to beat any physical attacker. Better bring Substitute, Taunt, or something else against this.

First, where did you find gen 8 sprites?

Second, I was planning on abusing Beat up with that particular set lol. I don't think it'll be as broken as breloom due to its speed tier being vastly more maganable and the fact it lacks spore.

Grapploct (Sneasel) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Beat Up
- Icicle Crash
- Close Combat
- Sucker Punch.

A pretty straight forward set. Pair it with a bunch of mon who has monstrous base attacks and watch it go to work, no?

But to be honest, without mentioning Darm-G, Sneasel has a pretty wide range of donors to abuse. Hitmonchan, Boltund (ala Strong Jaw Crunch with 140/210 offense...this thing can literally afford to run adamant and still be faster than a base 185 speed mon iirc), Drednaw (strong jaw crunch as well but loses ice typing for rock typing), Barraskewda, centiskorch etc etc. Can't wait to see how sneasel plays out.

Corsola-G seems like it'll be the glue of the meta (gligar's replacement.... almost?). Having the capabilities of abusing almost any and every donor it can get it hands on, defensively speaking of course. Frosmoth in particular looks like a cancerous mixed tank (100/125/160).

Other base forms/sets I think will be good are

Boltund (Ponyta-Galar) @ Choice Band
Ability: Strong Jaw
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Psychic Fangs
- Crunch
- Low Kick
- Play Rough
Stats: 60/130/65/115/75/185

Butterfree (Haunter) @ Life Orb
Ability: Compound Eyes / Tinted Lens
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Hurricane
- Shadow Ball
- Hypnosis / Taunt
Stats:55/75/40/180/110/130

Butterfree finally has Hurricane, and with the loss of Vivillon, it'll certainly take its spot now (especially since both abilties are abusable). Or you could always abuse good old hydreigon who now has nasty plot etc.

Alcremie (Ferroseed) @ Shed Shell / Leftovers
Ability: Aroma Veil
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spikes
- Stealth Rock / Aromatherapy
- Toxic
- Recover

Stats:64/70/126/84/146/40.

I actually have a stall team in mind with this particular set.

Transferring from the old thread, with some additions:

Sneasel is allowed, so get ready for this madness:

:sm/Sneasel: :Flapple:
Flapple (Sneasel)
Stats: 85/165/55/90/95/165 with Hustle (BST=655)
Focus sash
-Hone Claws
-Icicle Crash
-Knock Off
-Grav Apple/Poison Jab/Brick Break/Ice Shard

Slashed slot is for whacking either bulky waters, fairies, or steels, or for priority if you want it

You can also do a band set to hit like a train right away, but due to Hustle's accuracy issues, banded sets might be better cross-evolving to G-Darmanitan. Honestly, probably everything that uses a band will want to go to G-Darm.

Others who can make use of Flapple's great stat boosts plus Hustle by virtue of learning Hone Claws include Rufflet, Drilbur, Galar Meowth, Skorupi, and Binacle, along with Munchlax, Pawniard, Stunky, and Axew once Home is released. None are anywhere near as powerful and fast, but some could probably manage.

Next up, Bolthund grants a huge boost to speed (the very best, actually) plus a solid boost to attack with some nice biting coverage. Here are some mons that I think could make good use of it:

:sm/Scraggy: :Boltund:
Boltund (Scraggy) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Strong Jaw
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly/Adamant Nature
- Crunch
- High Jump Kick
- Iron Head
- Dragon Dance

120 Attack and 143 speed with double stab on Crunch. Iron Head is for the fairies that will flock in to try to stop it.

:sm/Growlithe: :Boltund:
Boltund (Growlithe) @ Choice Band
Ability: Strong Jaw
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly/Adamant Nature
- Fire Fang/Flare Blitz
- Crunch
- Psychic Fangs
- Thunder Fang
Not quite as good I think, but with 115/120/155 offensive stats and some nice coverage from Strong Jaw, could definitely do some speedy damage. Can also go mixed, probably with Life Orb.

:ss/Drakloak:
Drakloak is the second fastest crevolver after Sneasel. While it's still pretty much impossible to make it faster than its natural evolution Dragapult, it is probably the best mon to turn the biggest Stage 3 Crevolutions into fast sweepers. Here are some deadly ones.

:Drakloak: :Butterfree:
Butterfree (Drakloak) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Tinted Lens/Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid/Modest Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Dragon Pulse
- Air Slash/Hurricane
- Thunderbolt/Fire Blast
78/105/45/125/105/142 (BST=600), making it very frail on the physical side, but an incredible special sweeper if it can get a boost, with Tinted Lens plowing straight through would-be counters (or it can use Compound Eyes to abuse the higher powered version of its new Flying STAB). Does not like opposing priority--remove them beforehand or support with Psychic Terrain.

:Drakloak: :Gallade:
Gallade (Drakloak) @ Choice Band
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly/Adamant Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Close Combat
- Earthquake
- U-turn
Beastly 98/170/80/60/110/132 (BST=650) stats with new Dragon/Fighting typing, so it no longer cares about the lack of physical ghost STAB. Makes it a wallbreaker that's very hard to outspeed, as well as a great cleaner. Can also use Trick to pass off the band to a wall.

:Drakloak: :Tsareena:
Tsareena (Drakloak) @ Life Orb/Leftovers/Focus Sash
Ability: Queenly Majesty
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly/Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Phantom Force/Knock Off/Play Rough
- High Jump Kick/Power Whip/Zen Headbutt/Rapid Spin
With 88/160/100/70/100/112 (BST=630) stats, it isn't quite as speedy at the outset, but it's plenty to outspeed most of the metagame with impunity after Dragon Dance + Queenly Majesty. Also considerably bulkier, making it easier to get off the boost. Can also boost speed and clear hazards with Rapid Spin. It has several coverage options from Tsar, although not quite what it really wants (a reliable methods to break through Fairies and Steels).

EDIT: Fixed some errors caught by smellslikememe.

Tsareena (Drakloak) @ Life Orb/Leftovers/Focus Sash
Ability: Queenly Majesty
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly/Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Darts
- Phantom Force/Knock Off/Play Rough
- High Jump Kick/Power Whip/Zen Headbutt/Rapid Spin
Note that Drakloak does not learn Dragon Darts - it is constrained to Dragon Claw as a Dragon-type STAB.

:ss/Drakloak: :Butterfree:
Butterfree (Drakloak) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Tinted Lens
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly/Adamant Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Dragon Pulse
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt/Fire Blast
In this case, Drakloak would be Dragon/Flying, so Air Slash should be used over Shadow Ball, or Hurricane in the case of Compound Eyes sets.

One of my favorite styles from last gen was Trick Room, which lost setters like Porygon2 and Pumpkaboo-Super*Chansey, but gained an amazing new tool in negative priority teleport. Fast U-turn was the previous strategy for getting abusers in after setting TR, but what trick room setter wants to run positive speed at the expense of bulk? In practice the U-turner was usually out-slowed, and the incoming abuser had to take damage coming in, or else you kill your setter with Memento or Healing Wish. Of course one the perks of TR is that its sweepers can take a hit, but beasts like Piloswine*Tsareena like it so much more if they can save that hit for when they're sweeping but can't OHKO.

:sm/Claydol: :sm/Gallade: :sm/Gardevoir::sm/Xatu:
Claydol, Gallade/Gardevoir, Xatu, Beheeyem, and the Mr. Mimes can all pass both TR and Teleport to bulky setters (of which the first three are the clear frontrunners, while the last two will likely never be used). Claydol gives 20/50/50 defensive stats and Levitate to Stage1s, while Gallade/Gardevoir give 30/30/60 and a big offensive boost to Stage2s. Xatu has the niche of granting Magic Bounce at the expense of much lower stat boosts (25 across the board). It can also give Roost if you're evolving from someone who already has TR or Teleport.

:ss/corsola-galar::sm/Mareanie: :sm/Vullaby: :sm/Gloom: :sm/Togetic:
Corsola will probably be the biggest name in the business, with either massive 80/85/150/95/150/50 stats and Levitate, or softer but untauntable 85/80/125/90/125/55 stats and Magic Bounce, and healing from Strength Sap. Unfortunately not too many others have reliable healing. Mareanie enjoys Claydol's Levitate but is relatively flimsy (70/112/102 bulk), while Vullaby is a little sturdier but Levitate goes to waste (90/125/115 bulk). Gloom*Gardevoir could probably manage with 90/100/135 bulk, Strength Sap, and 145 SpA. Once Home is released, Togetic*Gardevoir (85/115/165 bulk with 140 SpA) will be able to use Roost.

:sm/Dusclops: :sm/Doublade: :sm/Munchlax:
So most of the other TR-Teleport folks will likely be non-healers who can choose to swap out or abuse the terrain themselves. Some examples include Dusclops*Gallade (also a native TR user) with 70/160/160/60/190/55 & Ghost/Fighting, Doublade*Gallade with 89/200/180/45/109/65 & Steel/Fighting, and Munchlax*Claydol with 155/115/90/70/135/25.

:sm/Elgyem:
And finally, while I passed off Beheeyem earlier, it's prevo Elgyem can actually use its native access to TR-Teleport (and Recover!) to cross-evolve into something that gives big defensive boosts, allowing it to pull off the strategy. Elgyem*Frosmoth looks like a very nice specially defensive setter with 95/95/80/165/115/75 and Ice Scales.

I have missed Cross Evo and now that I actually have a Smogon account, I will be posting some stuff soon.

I will say this much, :sneasel: might not have the mushroom, but top basically gets the job done. STAB+Tech Beat Up Hyper Offense is back.

Edit: Here are some initial thoughts I have on this format.

My fav tank Rhydon x Gallade is still here. Nice. Also, you can still evolve into Milotic and Gyarados.

:Corsola-Galar: is basically the new Gligar (we miss you Gligar, pls come back). Already has a good stat spread and amazing movepool. Evolve with something good and it will make it work. A nasty example for stall is probably :Frosmoth: . Ice Scales is the SpD version of Fur Coat and it gives +40 Hp/ +40 atk / +25 def / +80 SpA (hot damn) / +45 spd / +45 speed and QD. So Galar Corsola has 100/125/145 bulk backed by Ice Scales while physical attackers dread the combo of Strength Sap +WoW. Offensively, 145 SpA, QD, and a pretty wide variety of coverage options.

On that tangent, :Frosmoth: is broke af. Ice Scales is godly, +80 SpA is really big boost and QD to boot. The rest of its movepool is meh though so give it to a physical wall with reliable recovery or a sweeper.

I think :Appletun: is quite good. Ripen and Thick Fat are good abilities. + it gives recovery options in Leech Seed and Recover while Apple Acid decreases special walls bulk. Stat wise, +0 def is ass. But, +70 HP/ +45 atk / +60 SpA / +40 SpD / +10 speed are good boosts. Ferroseed seems like a good abuser. x2 fire weakness + resist to Ice makes it def typing even better while Recover means its not as reliant on leech seed to stay alive.

:Melmetal: is ridic. +89 Hp/ +78 atk / +78 def / +25 SpA / +30 SpD / +0 speed. Outside of speed those are some quality stat buffs. + Iron Fist Double Iron Bash hits like a truck. As for possible abusers, Klink has Shift Gear giving it a chance to abuse Double Iron Bash's 51% chance of flinch. :Pawiard: has 163 atk, STAB Sucker Punch, and SD. To bad only :Lucario: learns Bullet Punch right now. I think :Timburr: isn't bad either because Double Iron Bash rounds out fighting and dark coverage.

Ok hear me out. For some stupid reason :Type-null: has the 4th highest spa stat in the game. Cross it with :Toxtricity: which gives +60 SpA and +35 speed. The resulting cross evolution would have 155 SpA STAB Punk Rock Boomburst and 94 speed. To bad its movepool is utter ass.

Evolving into :Corviknight: gives a secondary steel typing, +30 HP/ +20 Atk / +50 def / +10 SpA / +30 SpD / -10 speed. Outside of the def buff, stat increase is a bit poor but you have stage 2 pokemon to work with instead of stage 1. Movepool wise, U-Turn, Defog, Taunt, and Roost are very nice to have. Once again, :Doublade: has found another thing to evolve into.

Wait min, I can cross evolve into :Solgaleo: and :Lunala: again??? Some of the go to abusers aren't here anymore but cross evolving any stage 2 pokemon with these creates a beast.

I was randomly looking at Corviknight cross-evos last night for these exact reasons. Giving a secondary steel typing and a great support movepool to stage 2 pokemon is just so cool.

In particular, I was looking at how you can use Corviknight to attain two coveted defensive combos: Bug/Steel and Grass/Steel, now with reliable healing!

:ss/Dottler::sm/Charjabug:
:Dottler:x:Corviknight:80/55/130/60/120/20; Sticky Web, Recover, U-turn, Trick, Trick Room
:Charjabug:x:Corviknight:87/102/145/65/105/26; Sticky Web, Thunder Wave, Toxic... X-Scissor? Volt Switch?
Presenting, finally, two ideal Sticky Web setters, with the typing, recovery, and defensive stats to allow them to set webs multiple times throughout the match. Dottler naturally gets recovery and U-turn, freeing it up to more Corviknight's support options, and has better mixed defenses, but its attacking stats are garbage. Charjabug has respectable attack and even better defense at the expense of a bit of special defense, but it wishes it wasn't limited to only two of Corviknight's moves. I expect that the standard set for both will be Sticky Web, Roost/Recover, U-turn, and one support move, probably Defog/Taunt for Dottler and Thunder Wave/Toxic or an attacking move for Charjabug. EDIT: Maybe Body Press for Dottler's last slot so it isn't a sitting duck.

:sm/Dartrix::ss/Thwackey::sm/Ivysaur::sm/Gloom:
:Dartrix:x:Corviknight:108/95/125/80/100/42; Roost, Defog, Haze, Knock Off, Toxic, Leaf Blade
:Thwackey:x:Corviknight:100/105/120/65/90/70; Leech Seed, Knock Off, U-turn, Wood Hammer
:Ivysaur:x:Corviknight:90/82/113/90/110/50; Sleep Powder, Leech Seed, Knock Off, Toxic, Giga Drain/Energy Ball/Leaf Storm
:Gloom:x:Corviknight:90/85/120/95/105/30; Strength Sap, Sleep Powder, Leech Seed, Toxic, Giga Drain/Energy Ball
Each is a Ferrothorn with Defog and Roost in place of Spikes. Like Ferro, they all get Knock Off and have a respectable attack stat. Dartrix has the best defenses, the niche of Haze, and natural access to Roost+Defog, freeing it up to use Corviknight's Taunt, U-turn, Body Press, or Bulk Up. This makes Dartrix the most unpredictable and probably the best choice, although it is the only one to lack Leech Seed. Thwackey is your best bet if you want to pull off a bulky offense set, though after Roost, it can only pick one of Bulk Up, Body Press, or Iron Head, so it will mostly probably stick between Roost, Defog, Leech Seed, Wood Hammer, Knock Off, and U-turn. Ivysaur and Gloom are probably outcompeted by the other two, but they do provide Sleep Powder and their Special Attack stats allows them to gain extra healing from Giga Drain. Gloom also has the niche of Strength Sap.

:Corviknight: is quite a unique pokemon to cross evo into. But this seems like the mon to end all mon (except the :Solgaleo: and :Lunala: Cross evos because those are straight up broken).

Hitmontop (Sneasel) @ King's Rock
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Beat Up
- Knock Off/Swords Dance
- Ice Shard
- Close Combat

Yes everyone, this ass is back. The power of Technician STAB Beat Up has been unleased upon Cross Evolution once more. Kings Rock gives Beat Up a nasty 46.86% chance of flinch, can easily reach 120 BP before Tech and STAB boosts. Compared to Sneloom, yes it doesn't hit as hard or have Spore, but unlike that glass cannon, this beast has 70/115/150 bulk which for a frame of reference, is -4 hp and 1 def away from :Ferrothorn: special bulk, and has special bulk>Ferro's physical bulk so it doesn't need focus sash anymore. While I love my old semi-stall teams, Unga Bunga Hyper Offense is scary.

The post mentions it's playable on ROM, but it doesn't seem to be there. In fact, none of Gen 8 OMs are on there, but that's for someone else.

To make it seem like I didn't come here empty handed, have this abomination:

:sm/Sneasel:
Darmanitan-Galar (Sneasel) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Gorilla Tactics
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Icicle Crash
- Throat Chop
- Earthquake
- U-turn

This thing boasts 145 Attack AND 160 Speed, while having access to Gorilla Tactics. Slap a scarf, and this is thing likely tears through teams (I can't test, the meta isn't up as far as I know.). Oh, and since it doesn't get a new typing, and has a wonderful one already, it can just use some nice coverage and U-Turn, for whatever it can't rip into.
Some more fun sets may include running Band over Scarf, since it has huge speed anyways. That's probably fine.
You can even change U-Turn for Rock Slide/Stone Edge to hit everything outside for Grass/Ground and Grass/Fighting.

Basically, probably quickban Darm-G for now.

It took me ages* just to iron out all of the bugs in OMs caused by server updates in the Gen 7 cycle, so as I'm still on pre-Home Gen 8 at the moment I decided it wasn't suitable to try to add OMs just yet. Sorry that it's taken so long.

*One that's recently shown up is that Seasonal Spoopy Party crashes if it rolls a Pumpkaboo-Large. As yet I have no idea when or why that broke...

My bad then, I did not consider the coding side. I know coding is pretty difficult, especially keeping up with the bugs. I'm glad you responded though, kind of surprising. Thanks for your response.

The banlist and OP really need some reworking, I'm not sure what's going on with some of this stuff being unbanned in the generation change and there's some new things that are really problematic. (Type: Null and Sneasel bans along with Frosmoth, Dugtrio, Solgaleo/Lunala, Darmanitan-Galar Evolution bans while keeping an eye on Zacian-Crowned, Rhydon, Gyarados/Milotic Evolutions)

In light of that I thought I'd share a couple sets I theorymonned the past couple days (won't be including anything I think should be on the banlist)
:dusclops:
Corviknight (Dusclops) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Hex
- U-turn / Defog
- Roost
- Will-O-Wisp
New Stats: 70/90/180/90/160/15
New Typing: Ghost/Steel

Dusclops @ Corviknight is an interesting new addition to this generation, and with solid stats, Steel/Ghost typing and slow pivoting, it could find itself to be a really neat Pokemon and potential check to threats like Klang @ Gallade and Toxtricity evolutions.

:corsola-galar:
Quagsire (Corsola-Galar) @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

New Stats: 100/95/140/105/140/50
Corsola-Galar is a ridiculously strong wall, and when paired with Quagsire's Unaware, it becomes incredibly difficult to break. Corsola-Galar @ Quagsire is probably the most solid Zacian-Crowned check in the tier, along with plenty of other physical threats.
252+ Atk Zacian-Crowned Crunch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Unaware Corsola-Galar: 134-158 (33.1 - 39.1%) -- 9.7% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

:rhydon:
Gallade (Rhydon) @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
- Stealth Rock / Ice Punch
New Stats: 135/220/150/45/105/70
New Typing: Ground/Fighting
Rhydon @ Gallade was a threat last generation that was already incredibly difficult to check, and without checks like Ho-Oh and Gligar, it's questionable whether or not this is healthy for the metagame, but regardless it's a super threating Pokemon and hazard setter. Checks like Doublade @ Flygon and some Gyarados evolutions are pivotal in keeping this in check.

This meta was super fun last generation and the new additions of this generation look super fun to play with so if we get some opportunity to play in the future it'll be super exciting

I'll try and help you understand.

The point of the unban is to simply see rather or not if Sneasel is stable enough to be used in CE. CE gained a lot of new tank donors and recievers, namely Corsola who can run plethora of defensive options.

The one set I have in mind, may just fair quite well against majority of Sneasel's sets that are posted here:

Weezing-galar (Corsola-Galar) @ Leftovers
Ability: Neutralizing Gas
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Strength Sap
- Will-o-Wisp / Toxic
- Haze
- Hex

Just one of many sets that I've came up with to combat Sneasel. Some are old, but mostly new.

As for gorilla tactic, I rather we see how it plays out first before labeling it as "problematic". I won't lie though, this right here might just be the cause of sneasel being banned anyways, as that set specifically has very few checks/counters from the looks of it. Pretty understandable to be confused considering im allowing BOTH Gorilla-T and Sneasel, probably think I'm a mad man lol.

I wouldn't dare unban Null or Solga/luna. Strange, I thought these mon were illegal anyways?

I honestly don't see how Frosmoth might "Really be problematic", Is there something that I'm missing? From my view, defensively speaking, even though its ability is essentially fur coat (but for SpD) the one problem i see is that it lacks a reliable recovery option as a donor, which makes it not suitable for most pokemon who also lack recovery in their movepool (this same issue applies to Gyarados as well). Offensively speaking, I can't really pin point how it might go, it does give QD and a great spA boost along with Ice beam which is always a great coverage option, but so did Volcarona who also share these same traits offensively (minus Ice beam ofc) and it wasn't anywhere near as being regarded as "problematic".

Point here is, Frosmoth no doubt is going to be great, but I doubt many mon can abuse it as effectively as you may think. God I can't wait to test all this stuff out, it's the only way we'll get our answers lol.

Edit: Very true, Rhydon's most prominent checks are now gone. However, I think Hippopotas will do just fine and we still have doublade who's really rhydon's #1 counter.

I totally forgot about this. Galar Weezing gives such a cool ability in Neutralizing Gas and a secondary fairy typing.
When put on Galar-Corsola, its removes the tech boost and makes it neutral to dark. Very cool idea TimeZone.

They are not on the ban list so I think these are technically still legal to use. Null is weird to call a ban because its typing and movepool is ass but I think we can all agree to ban Solga/Luna. Evovling into Box Art Legendries is insane and while your def gets dropped, the pay off is so worth it.

.

Fair enough. I put it in the "changes made to the meta" link, but neglected to put it in the list of bans. I'll be sure to change it.

Regarding Weezing-galar, I had that idea for a long while now. Along with other potentially great walls/tanks that I have in mind. I rather wait before revealing more of my secrets though lol.

Regarding Type:Null and why it was banned, go here -> https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/cross-evolution.3594854/page-14 where the suspect started and read for yourself why people felt it was banworthy.

I remember this last gen. And my rage from trying to break Chansey x Type Null. Read over the discussion of why Null was banned and I can understand the reasoning. Its stats are completely insane for a stage 1 pokemon and the right evolution can greatly mitigate the poor movepool.

Timezone, can you also clarify whether Zacian-Crowned is banned? I presume that it is, given that this meta follows the Ubers banlist, but the extra clarification doesn't hurt.

If it is given a chance in the tier, I think it will be like Sneasel in that it will be a huge threat that will shape the meta, but might just be manageable, seeing that Doublade--already one of the best and most versatile crevolvers--happens to be a very good check/counter to it. There's also the other defensive options you mentioned and the fact that many offensive pokemon can use Boltund to outspeed it.

Note that I am not advocating for it one way or another--just an observation. (I personally have much more fun winning with mortals rather than legends).

Anything not named Null/Solga/Lunala will be tested first. CE's "mortals" are usually more dangerous than the legends.

:ss/Corsola-Galar::ss/Corsola-Galar::ss/Corsola-Galar:
I would like to do a proper demonstration of the ridiculous versatility of Corsola-Galar. Several really cool sets have already been mentioned above, and I will mention them again here for compendium purposes and to emphasize my point that the coral has options.

Also, I want to challenge the typical assumption that Corsola-G is always passive. There are many sets where it acquires very respectable or even dangerous levels of offense. To draw your attention to this fact, I will bold-face offensive stats values of 105* or greater. *except when I felt the mon doesn't have the offensive move pool to utilize it. Also keep in mind that Corsola-G has access to Calm Mind, so every time its SpA is solid, then a bulky Calm Mind sweeper set is possible.

Okay, so let's get started.

As we all know, the classic Corsola-G set uses a combination of Stealth Rock, Will-o-Wisp, Strength Sap, and Night Shade or another offensive move when the stat allows. Here are a bunch of generally fat variations on this theme, each with its own unique flavor of support options:
:Appletun:130/100/100/125/140/40; Thick Fat/Ripen; Leech Seed
:Greedent:110/95/140/85/140/25; Cheek Pouch; Super Fang
:Hippowdon:100/95/140/95/130/45; Sand Stream; Roar, Body Press
:Beartic:100/115/140/75/140/40; Snow Cloak; Shadow Claw, Roar, Encore, Taunt
:Avalugg:100/103/199/77/111/30; Sturdy; Rapid Spin, Body Press
:Escavalier:80/115/160/85/160/1; Overcoat/Shell Armor; Encore, Knock Off, Body Press; Ghost/Steel Typing
:Ninetales-Alola:95/81/135/96/135/74; Snow Warning; Aurora Veil, Heal Bell, Roar, Encore, Disable; Ghost/Fairy Typing

Let's say you want to stick to the basics, but are tired of getting blocked by those pesky Taunts. Try one of these:
:Whiscash:120/85/130/95/130/30; Oblivious
:Piloswine:110/105/140/95/130/30; Oblivious; Roar
:Alcremie:80/75/135/125/150/60; Sweet Veil; Aromatherapy, Encore

Or maybe just outspeed the Taunt (and the attacks) with this:
:Whimsicott:80/95/125/105/125/80; Prankster; Encore, Defog, Leech Seed, Taunt, U-turn

What if you're worried about longevity instead? Improve your ability to switch in multiple times or absorb status with one of these:
:Toxapex:60/65/190/75/190/20; Regenerator; Toxic Spikes, Haze, Baneful Bunker
:Eldegoss:80/65/130/105/160/80; Regenerator; Rapid Spin, Leech Seed, Sleep Powder
:Trevenant:102/95/128/80/122/48; Natural Cure; Leech Seed, Shadow Claw

Maybe spreading status is what you really want to do, but Substitutes or Toxic-immune pokemon keep stopping your fun. These might help:
:Noivern:105/95/145/117/140/98; Infiltrator; Defog, Taunt,
:Salazzle:80/75/120/105/120/70; Corrosion; Toxic, Taunt, Disable

What's that you say? It's more hazards beyond Stealth Rock you want to spread? No problem:
:Araquanid:90/85/140/75/160/45; Water Bubble/Water Absorb; Sticky Web,
:Dottler:85/70/160/90/150/15; Compoundeyes?; Sticky Web; Ghost/Psychic Typing
:Vespiquen:100/105/160/115/160/1; Pressure; Toxic Spikes, Aromatherapy, Defog
:Weezing-Galar:85/80/125/90/125/55; Neutralizing Gas; Aromatherapy, Toxic Spikes, Defog, Clear Smog, Taunt; Ghost/Fairy Typing
:Toxapex:60/65/190/75/190/20; Regenerator; Toxic Spikes, Haze, Baneful Bunker
:Cofagrigus:80/75/160/105/140/30; Mummy; Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Haze, Body Press, Disable
:Carkol:110/75/140/85/120/50; Flame Body/Flash Fire; Spikes, Rapid Spin; Ghost/Fire Typing

Corsola-G excels at setting field conditions too. To set Trick Room or Weather, look no further:
:Claydol:80/85/150/95/150/50; Levitate; Trick Room + Teleport, Rapid Spin
:Xatu:85/80/125/90/125/55; Magic Bounce; Trick Room + Teleport, Defog, Haze
:Pelipper:80/75/170/105/140/10; Drizzle; U-turn, Defog
:Ninetales:95/90/135/96/135/65; Drought; Roar, Encore, Disable

How about one of these if you want to interfere with your opponent's ability?
:Excadrill:110/105/120/85120/50; Mold Breaker; Rapid Spin, Shadow Claw; Ghost/Steel Typing
:Weezing-Galar:85/80/125/90/125/55; Neutralizing Gas; Aromatherapy, Toxic Spikes, Defog, Clear Smog, Taunt; Ghost/Fairy Typing

Or if you want to stop a sweeper in its tracks?
:Quagsire: 100/95/140/105/140/50; Unaware; Haze, Encore

And if there's someone specific you want to eliminate, try trapping!
:Wobbuffet:155/65/110/75/110/40; Shadow Tag, Encore

These are all very fun and exciting, but let's supercharge these defenses, shall we? We'll boost them further with phenomenal defensive abilities and shoot up the attacking power while we're at it. Try sweeping with some of these if that strikes your fancy:
:Milotic:135/100/159/155/170/31; Marvel Scale; Dragon Tail, Haze
:Frosmoth:100/95/125/145/160/75; Ice Scales; Defog, Quiver Dance, U-turn
:Gyarados:135/170/124/110/180/31; Intimidate/Moxie; Dragon Tail, Roar, Taunt; Ghost/Flying Typing
:Hitmontop:75/115/160/65/175/65; Intimidate; Rapid Spin
:Persian-Alola:85/80/125/90/125/55; Fur Coat; Parting Shot, Roar, Taunt
:Bewear:110/105/130/75/110/40; Fluffy, Bulk Up + Shadow Claw, Roar, Taunt
:Dubwool:90/95/145/85/145/70; Fluffy; Cotton Guard + Body Press

With so many incredible defensive sets, those opponents better come prepared with some Ghost-crushers. But wait, you can circumnavigate this by changing your type entirely.
:Vaporeon:135/65/110/130/130/40; Water Absorb; Heal Bell, Scald, Wish, Haze; Water Typing
:Sylveon:100/65/115/130/165/35; Pixillate; Heal Bell, Hyper Voice, Wish; Fairy Typing
:Umbreon:100/65/160/80/165/40; Synchronize; Heal Bell, Foul Play, Wish, Taunt; Dark Typing
:Espeon:70/65/110/150/130/85; Magic Bounce; Heal Bell, Psychic/Psyshock, Psychic Typing

So... in conclusion, Corsola-Galar is a beast of flexibility. If there is anything this gen that approaches the unpredictability of Type:Null, I believe this is it.

Carkol with Inteleon- 85/85/100/90/80/80 gives Carkol a bit more diversity in it's moveset, and more of a reason to play with Steam Engine, and also has options like Haze to clear out stat boosts.

Klang with Hatterne- 60/130/125/120/115/30, Steel / Fairy and Magic Bounce? With access to Volt Switch, Steel Beam, Sword Dance, Calm Mind and many more fun tools to annoy your opponents with? Sign me up.
