Lol, they aren't even going to bother including the Galar Fossils. "Look, we made these while we were drunk, put them into the games cause we thought they were funny... can we just forget they existed? It was a mistake we're now regretting and just want to move on".

Poor Kabutops, Omastar, Armaldo, Rampardos, & Bastiodon, since they're going to compare the Pokemon to the original animals they can't use them cause GF went wild with their design. "So you see kids, real horseshoe crabs and Anomalocaris didn't evolve into bipedal creatures that grew blades for arms, I wouldn't even know what direction evolution would need to take to even consider that a viable option".

Also, f*** Lileep and Tirtouga I guess, you two are too "modern" unlike the other fossil Pokemon. "Kabuto is based on a horseshoe crab which are still alive!". Don't worry about that, humanity is working on it...

Hey look, I’m an entire month late. Last post made on 4/20 nice and today’s 5/20... okay, now onto the discussion. Sorry about that.

I’ve had an idea for a group of Pokémon distributions for a while now that I’d like to share. I’m usually not the kind of person who’s into this kind of trend, but Pokémon is a pretty big exception to that, and this idea could help out the litany of Pokémon content creators online.

Allow me to introduce what I would call “Social Icon” events. In a nutshell, these events would be distributions of Pokémon that are either the brand mascot of, or a really liked Pokémon for a specific content creator. With this event, the process may be a bit convoluted but the players could get what’s meant to be representation of their account. Please note that each content creator could only have one event per social media account.

If I may, here’s an example of what such an event could look like in-game. Let’s say that our hypothetical example person “PokéFan25” has a YouTube channel and really likes Pikachu. It’s their channel mascot, their first Pokémon game was Yellow, the whole package. The event Pokémon would be given out by their own player character (with the creator’s permission of course, these would be prepared well in advance) as an NPC figure as opposed to the usual Mystery Gift NPC. And just like that, the player gets a special Level 25 Pikachu that has a special animation when it enters battle, kind of like how N’s Pokémon worked in Black & White 2, as well as whatever else the content creator would add in like moves or a special Ability or something.

What do you guys think? My apologies in advance if this post is breaking any discussion rules. Feel free to tell me if that’s the case.

Sounds okay... but this thread really isn't about discussing Event ideas but rather discussing any existing Events that happen.

Leading up to this point Bidoof has gotten some spotlight in GO, TCGO, and Masters, but today is significant because it is "officially" Bidoof Day, the main day for Bidoof. Unfortunately they can't actually make an event distribution for it because it is not in SWSH. Maybe next year we'll see a Bidoof event for BDSP.

I'm kind of surprised they got Masters to do something special for this. This whole Bidoof Day thing is only really on the west; Go's worldwide but I always felt it had a Western focus and TCGO is.....very, very western focused.

Most of the difference seems to be on the shading, the edges are better tuned and don't just look like the textures abruptly end, with edges also being rounded up.

Obviously there's also the fact these are images on the Switch Screen while the footage was likely a direct feed, but as I said, it does look a bit better than it did in the presentation. Wish they shown a tiny bit more than just throwing a pokeball to a Buizel though :psygrump:

It comes down to lighting mattering a lot. While the duller pallet is probably because it's a different time of day (morning, probably?) the fact there's more natural lighting helps things not feel as flat and hides the edges.
Well there's also actual polygon touching to be fair, es compare the back of the trainer

The backpack has a extra lace, more lines, the "pokeball" is now pushing out rather than just a drawing, his hat has a slightly different shape, etc.
Most of these differences aren't just "shadowing" and lighting work.

Like, I am unironically glad that it looks like what they shown was indeed an alpha and they are polishing the product.
I hope Arceus Legends is also going through same kind of improvement considering how... questionable the reveal trailer graphic was.

Lifesize RBY bike replica giveaway announced

Though, why not make it a normal bike (Origins provided a more realistic version)? Sure you wouldn't be able to do the special tires cause those would wear out, but everything else is fine.

It's true but at same time, isnt it standard GameFreak's behaviour to do a teaser then be completely silent until 1-2 months before release?
The usual behavior is they do, like, 6+ months of consistent information before release.
It's very unusual to just have nothing for 6 months, other than that brief blip where they confirmed the box arts & release dates

XY: Revealed in January for October. February had Sylveon, March weirdly had nothing, April had The Mysterious Pokemon Who Has a Relation To Mewtwo. May, June, July, August, September all had consistent stream of normal information.
ORAS: Revealed in May out of the blue, presumably for financial reasons. June, July, August, September, October all had information.
SM: Revealed in February. March & April were silence this is where we had the infamous double spread of "the boxarts, but the cover legends rae blurred out". The true dark ages, for sure... Anyway May, June, July, August, September, October all had information.
USUM: Revealed in..wow June? Really? Bizarrely late for this thing. July had minimal (steel book, mostly), but August, September & October had consistent information.
Let's Go: Revealed in May for November release. June, July, August, September, & October all had new (or..."new", as the case may be) information revealed about the titles.
SWSH: Revealed in February for "Late 2019". March, April & May were very slim, beyond CoroCoro revealing the contest for Steel Beam in April and a Uniqlo design & Home compatability in May. June, July, August, September, & October all had new information, even if SWSH's news drops were lesser per drop.

And all of these also had information in November (or, October rather, for XY) just before they released.

So my apologies about "6+" months, but the average is we usually get 5-6 months of steady information (6-7 if you want to count the release month since there is usually stuff before the release). and between reveal & the news cycle picking up it's typically only a 1-3 month wait

Thus, BDSP is really the outlier here. Legends Arceus at least has the excuse of not releasing until January, but....
