Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl - Release 19th Nov 2021

Jeez, it would be less insulting if they put in "PROTIP: The lower a Wild Pokemon's HP, the easier it is to catch! If you knock it out, the battle ends and it runs away, losing your chance and you'll have to find another Wild Pokemon to try again". At the very least that would be helpful information for a new player, cause I think "knocking out defeats the opponent" is something even a preschooler can put together.
people die when they’re killed

If that's the PROTIP, one has to imagine what the NOOBTIP is.

Here's the real question: Honchkrow or Staraptor for the in-game team?

The one bird that redefined the concept of early birds, a mighty hawk with an axe in the head, the first bird that learned Close Combat to destroy steel and rock types, one thing you couldn't even think of as a kid and one of the greatest shinies out there with those silverish tones. Not to mention the overall edgy appearance further demostrated by its ability, INTIMIDATE.

Or a fat crow with a stupid hat and unkwnown diseases.

If you get Shining Pearl, good luck finding Murkrow. If you get Brilliant Diamond, Honchkrow would be tempting to me because it's version exclusive even though Staraptor is probably better. Staraptor lost Return when it was cut in Gen 8 so it has to use Facade instead but it still has Fly, Close Combat, and U-Turn. Honchkrow is a tiny bit stronger but slower and has Super Luck and Night Slash. It'd be a lot more tempting if the Razor Claw wasn't in Victory Road, but a 50% Crit Chance still sounds fun. After getting getting the Razor Claw, Night Slash will always Crit and everything else will have a 50% chance.

To defeat the wild Pokémon, try pressing buttons until you find one that works!
Or you can do stuff that does nothing until the wild Pokemon KOs itself. Just do whatever. Wild Pokemon Struggle to win, if they even can win. ;)

Bro, I like Staraptor as much as any Sinnoh fan boy.

But don't ever disrespect the mafia boss crow like that again.

:dp/honchkrow:

You might have something coming to you...

Keep it burned the entire game and spam facade.

Does anyone remember how digital releases worked timewise regarding SwSh? Its the 19th here already and I wanna play!

Edit: and of course as soon as I post this it works, just about a 15 min delay

BDSP is so faithful that you only unlock Mystery Gift at Jubilife like in the originals (though thankfully they have a failsafe this time; it unlocks after the 3rd gym too)

Hey, guys. I plan on getting Shining Pearl at some point in the near future but I can't decide on what team I want to use. I came up with a couple of them, each with a specific theme. What do you guys think?

Team 1: Torterra, Staraptor, Luxray, Alakazam, Machamp, Gengar
Theme: Three stage evolution lines & no Underground

Team 2: Torterra, Luxray, Drifblim, Clefable, Milotic, Gallade
Theme: Favorable type matchups against the region's Trainers

Team 3: Empoleon, Staraptor, Alakazam, Heracross, Raichu, Magmortar
Theme: Pokémon I have nostalgic bias for

Team 4: Roserade, Crobat, Dustox, Drapion, Toxicroak, Tentacruel
Theme: Mono-Poison (my favorite type, out of the seven available Gengar was cut because of the Levitate removal)

I'm a fan of themed teams (I usually go with newly introduced mons or regional exclusives), but I think it's always a personal choice. I'd just note that if they keep the honey tree mechanics, Heracross would be a pain to get. Monotype is also a neat idea, but Poison puts you in a rough spot against steels and Cynthia's Garchomp

you HAVE to let it go brother
