In that case, shouldn't it be theoretically possible to "simulate" a transfer somehow? As in generating a mon in such a way that it tricks the game into thinking it's from SWSH/BDSP/PLA and observing how it reacts

We also don't know what event to fire necessarily. Injecting a mon into the PC with met locations altered is very different from moving and triggering the event that detects and checks the met location. Injecting would be more like just inserting a mon with a new movepool but happens to be from a previous title, skipping whatever trigger from scarlet/violet has.
They'd have to datamine some text to be 100% certain, that gives a warning in advance about mons from past regions. The code could still be there but none of us would know what to do with it.

I think you need Home, as that is where the actual trigger is. If it was a Pokémon generated in SWSH and then just dropped into SV, it would just have an illegitimate moveset. Idk how hacking in Gen 8 works, but considering we’ve had hacking already to show off new mons, I think the game wouldn’t change anything.
when this new change happened it was Home that got the update and to transfer between games you need to select the games within Home and then the moves would change. The moves don’t change when it reaches the source game, they change within Home itself when you’ve selected that game, for example going into Home I choose Shield, it shows me a Magmar with its current Shield moveset, I then come out of it and choose Legends, view the Magmar and it will have Legends’ moveset. At this point the Magmar is still stored in HOME and hasn’t moved.
given that it is Home that changes the moves, I don’t think it could be altered that way. As the hacked Pokémon isn’t passing through home. (Unless there’s like flags that can be applied or something im not savvy with hacking)
my understanding is the moveset swapping & memory is entirely on Home. This is why it was able to do the things it does without updating all 3 games.
Even if we told the game "hey, this pokemon is from Gen 8" there's nothing SV would necessarily do beyond update the extra data.
I can't say I'm anywhere close to fluent, but a lot of these are at least close enough.

If Centro somehow had this inside info about transferring, they could still be mistaken. They've shown they don't know everything and are willing to throw out answers even if they aren't true. There's a very real possibility that movesets are deleted when transfering from PL:A and possibly BDSP.
There's also the fact that in general, generational transfers are one way only. Kinda like pokemon coming from Let's Go can't go back to it once they touch a gen 8 game, no matter what.
The whole "separate moveset" thing only exists due to the incompatibilies between the three gen 8 games, each having moves not present in the others.
This "issue" isn't a thing for gen 9, as pokemon won't have the necessity of keeping the gen 8 movesets as they cannot go back anymore.
The one and only scenario in which what Centro says would make sense, is if for some reason, GF decided that for the first time since gen 2, they want to maintain the ability to send pokemon *back*.
And frankly, I struggle to see this as happening, because why would they exactly.

You can sneak and you can also throw your Pokémons ball from a distance to catch it off guard. Play with the buttons cause idk which it is
Me personally I'll probably keep the team I had earlier for the main story and use different mons for Raids, so I avoid overlevelling my main mons while still getting cool raid rewards
It didn't, because it's not happening in the game.
The only "check" that the 3 gen 8 games do is its internal move list. If a move was marked as unusable, you can't use it; and it will display the "you should probably delete this" text for its description since that's just how it handled.
If you were to inject a BDSP pokemon directly into PLA it wouldn't erase the moveset or anything, all those moves would just display their appropriate internal data for it. You can delete the moves at your leisure.
Just so you're psicologically prepared, even doing picnics gives pokemon exp. Why? I have no clue. It does though.

he’s just assuming based on what it currently is, but there’s no indication they’ll bring that mechanic for Gen 9, it might be between a generations games but from Gen to Gen we might get to keep them. We dunno yet! We’ve only got a few months so might as well enjoy a new chaotic meta

AS Volt-Ikazuchi mentioned above, 草むら/kusamura is mostly just "a place with a lot of grass". Usually used for thick, tall grass.
On the remaining missing words, kare is probably 枯れ which means withered/dry. So kusamura_kare is referring to some dry grasslands, and shiba_kare to dry brushwood/lawn. Lastly, doro is definitely 泥 for mud/mire. That should cover all the elements!
Thank you both, looks like it gets most of them. The only thing it appears to have issues with is "kare"... hmm. If only I knew how the XYZ coordinates linked to places on the map, so I could see what these point to.

on the topic of in-game teams I will fully be rotating the majority of the Gen 9 Pokémon, allows me to remain stable levelled and also try out all the new toys. I for one, can’t wait to stomp Geeta with my family of mice and fire croc, however.

Oh a QQ related to size. So we know sizes change like Legends but is the scale the same? I’ve seen tiny mons but never seen anything that’s as big as an Alpha? (Which just have the max height set on them)
are they potentially rarer? Since we have sandwiches that can alter the sizes I imagine they might be a bit rarer than Legends but I’m curious to see if anyone has encountered anything overly big/small for a species that is not that size.
