  • Give it a shot! IMO it probably isn't worth it, because it only took me 15-20 minutes to find my RTC position, but it would be a good way to give it a live battery as well.
I really need these two pokes, I would greatly appreciate if you will accept any of my pokes

Oh...so I have to use Researcher to find my SID? Guess I was wrong.

EDIT: You said it's the cutoff point in R/S, but it's different for Emerald?
Also speaking of what I said about finding a desired SID, I could be wrong on this, but is the cutoff point (the point where SID is determined) the moment the screen turns black (after the player character image disappears)? I tried it, thought for sure I got the desired SID, encountered a Zigzagoon after retrieving the starter (at a certain frame), but it wasn't shiny (if it was, then I did it right). If that's not the correct point, then I'm still curious where the actual cutoff point is.

I've had quite a number of unsuccessful attempts now, so yeah.
Speaking of targeting frames for a desired SID in Emerald, pretty much the only way to determine the frame I hit is by attempting to catch a random shiny Pokemon at the lowest possible frame with the desired PID? Unless there's some other .lua file that I'm missing out or something...
To recap, I pretty much got the hang of it. So let's say there's a 31/31/31/31/31/31 spread at frame 50000 with a SID of 12472 (only an example). I can just wait until Prof. Birch says his last line. After I hit A on frame 50000, I would get the desired SID, right?
