Regarding the R/S resets for Jirachi/ES Ziggy couldn't you just make a backup of the save prior to obtaining the pokemon with GBA Backup Tool? It requires a flashcart to use though. You would just backup the save, get the pokemon, and restore the save if you don't like the stats. I would think that you would get different stats each time...
