After my fourth listen, I'm gonna go ahead and say The Suburbs is better than Neon Bible, but I'm not sure about Funeral.
The theme is done so perfectly. It's remiscent of the past, in the form of an adult. They had a much less emotional sound, and really "matured." Much alike an adult, losing the innocence, only to find that's the thing they loved. It's almost made to be a dadrock album, and tries to capture an entire sense of nostalgia for anyone. It was pretty smart of them to put The Suburbs as the first track, which by now, most of the indie community has heard. That immediatly put nostalgia in your head, and putting Ready To Start second, implying the subject has been stated, and now it's time for a sort of story on it. I thought that was really clever.
But anyways, the first half is really quite amazing. The second half, however, is made of perfect. The real striker here is how much of a breakthrough Chassagne had. She lead some of the best tracks on the album. Sprawl II, Empty Room, and Half Light I.
Anywaiz, inb4 Sprawl gets remixed by Diplo.
