how can the ref not see the foul on dirk kuyt for cardiff's second is beyond me.

nonetheless terrible small club mentality to sit back (against CARDIFF) and try to retain the 1 goal lead.

charlie adam should be shot and melted down for glue

SUCK MY DICK CARDIFF CITY
SUCK MY DICK CARDIFF CITY
SUCK MY DICK CARDIFF CITY

(its been a bad week)

sorry akuchi but i have nothing but positive things to say about cardiff after that performance. heartbreaking stuff, but a great advert for the english game.

edit: and welsh

no you're right. it was a great performance from cardiff and i did actually lol when the last goal went in, it was deserved. if they weren't horrible cardiff scum..

Liverpool really shouldn't have let it go all the way to penalties. They've really let themselves down in effort... Completely outshone in that department

Liverpool set to join other great Carling Cup winners of the last decade including Birmingham, Middlesbrough and Blackburn and they can feel proud for going one step further than recent finalists Wigan Athletic. Anybody who questioned their big-team credentials must feel pretty silly now.

better than winning fuck all though

Surely Liverpool are good enough to give any of the top clubs a run for their money. However, the only thing that keeps them from achieving that 'big club' status is their inconsistent run of form. They can only dream of CL until they improve on winning games apart from the 'big club' clashes that they seem to be oh so good at.

can't argue with that, i suppose they did knock out Manchester City to get here so they do deserve some recognition (although I should also note that the other two teams they played in his years competition were Brighton and Exeter so yeah)

they've overcame a determined team and have played their part in a classic cup final so kudos to liverpool...still a bunch of immoral cunts though

stoke away, chelsea away, manchester city... not an easy run-in

it's honestly the first time since I've been a liverpool supporter that i see my team winning a trophy and it feels great! let's hope the title winning mentality is going to come back.

Heh. That's cute.

Liverpool did what they were suppose to do, against teams with lesser quality and sides playing reserves, they won.

Don't really think anything of it. And also didn't really think anything of it when Arsenal lost it last season. Just a shock moment where it should have been a comfortable and easy win, then move onto the next game. Winning a "cup" didn't matter.

if you didn't think anything of it when arsenal lost it last season you're blind, that was the match before the total capitulation to newcastle and the end of their season iirc (something like 13 out of 30 possible points?)

I'm aware that it was the moment everything went downhill for us. I'm saying that I really didn't care that we did not win the Carling Cup. I'm fine not having that in the cabinet.

united still going after trophys
and united playing crap and getting 3 points seems to be the way to go at the end of the season.

At least liverpool will actually win a trophy this year unlike United.

pretty bold statement given that they're favorites to win the Europa League and have every chance of winning the Premiership too.

really latinoheat did sir alex ferguson kill your family or something

Agreeing with Latino.City are definitely gonna win the premiership and,if an english side is going to win the Europa league this season it's definitely gonna be City imo.So yeah,no trophies for United this time.

No, United will be more motivated than City to win the Europa League, so they probably will. Premiership is up for grabs to when City and United play again.
