Oh my god this
Baroness-Yellow-Green.jpg

(Yellow & Green by Baroness)
I'm not much of a metalhead, but Baroness are a band I really like and this double album is just amazing.

New Frank Ocean and Mission of Burma are pretty good, too.

The most interesting thing about that album is the artwork.

And here's the new Ep from the most pretentious band in the world

Wait where's the other songs you ask? Well its just that one.

lana del rey's summertime sadness video clip was just released. another sad but beautiful clip. so in tune with her creativity, this girl!

Although you all seem to be obsessed with Metal/Rock, I'm more interested in the next Katy Perry album, which is rumored to be darker than Teenage Dream.

... don't judge me

dang another BASED mixtape dropped 2day/yesterday

Lil B for artist of the year. #1 Album god's father and like 8 mixtapes and an 855 song BASED freestyle compilation

I've been really enjoying Gregory and the Hawk's new album, or an artist more commonly known as "that one bitch who wrote that one annoying song in literally every single teenage female's Facebook status" (If you'll be my star, I'll be your sky/just leave me your stardust to remember you by).

That said, most of her stuff is quite nice- she has a dainty, folky voice, is an excellent guitarist and writes rather well. Here's a longtime favorite of mine, as most songs off of the new record don't seem to be on YouTube yet:

^ oh my I love Gregory and the Hawk, I was a huge fan of Leche though I haven't got around to listening to Come, Now yet, and this post reminded me to do so, thanks !

anyways, I came to this thread because Bat for Lashes just released the first music video from her new album, Laura, and it made me very exited for her new album.

Are they any Rhymesayers fans on here?

Aesop Rock's new album, Skelethon came out last week. I've only listened to Labor Days and None Shall Pass, but I feel Skelethon is a lot better. His production has just increased in quality massively imo.

Big Rhymesayers fan, but I haven't really had a chance to listen to Skelethon yet. I'll be doing that today at work. Labor Days is my favorite album of his, so let's see how this stacks up.

Yeah, Leche's really nice too. In Your Dreams is probably my favorite, followed by Moenie and Kitchi, but her entire discography is wonderful :x

I just got The Stomach for It - The Bunny The Bear. I don't like it quite as much as If You Don't Have Anything Nice to Say but they still make solid tracks and progress through the voyage that is perfecting their sound

Oh, there is another album that is am really exited about that is coming on August 10, ALPINE's debut album 'A Is For Alpine'. They are a really cool band that have played at a few festivals over the last few years and they came to my attention. I have been living off the very few songs they have on youtube/soundcloud for most of this year and the end of last year, so I hope their debut will live up to my expectations.

Definable worth a listen:

Gasoline
Hands
Villages

was anyone else really, really disappointed by the new passion pit or is that just me? i actually had to stop mid album and play manners again to make sure that i did actually like passion pit before hearing their new work

i've got a lot of other music to catch up on though

I think Gossamer is fucking fantastic. One of my favorites of the year so far. Maybe you would like it better if you kept listening...the second half is much better. "Hideaway" and "Love is Greed" are fantastic tracks.

Well I liked it a lot more than Manners. That's the one that felt bland to me. When I listen to it every song is just a blur of noise, but it's not a good blur of noise like MBV or something.

I suppose Gossamer is a more consistent album.

Also, the new Swans album. Words don't even... I don't know if it's the revitalization post-rock needed, but it definitely made Sigur Ros's album look like child's play. I'm planning on giving it a few more listens, but as it stands this might be my first perfectly rated album is quite a long time.
