2012 music

Yeah I can second this, I saw them one time and they were freaking incredible, seeing them again with letlive and Everytime I Die in December.
I really want to go to one of their shows, but I just haven't been able to. :(
like 2006 or 2007.

i'm all about intensity and whatnot, but if you can't play your own music, i'm not really interested.

i'm paying to see you play, not to see you "GO CRAZY OMG HE WENT NUTS!!"

it's just sloppy.
Ok, in 2009 is when they became know for their live performances with the release of Wars and Rumors of Wars. Their personnel is totally different now and I think they're a lot better now.

That's fair, but I will say the members in the band now are amazing musicians. But I do understand that some people just don't like the craziness and the destruction that happens during their concerts.

Madeon - The City

I hope that at least some of you have heard of Madeon, the kid's really talented, especially considering he is only like 19 years old or something. This one was released today, and it's pretty sweet if you ask me

album of the year, no doubt
Your album cover is offensively terrible.

Please let me design a better one for you, or at least let me fix that godawful text.

Ah, well, anyways.

New Dinosaur Jr. is pretty ok. This is really the first album I can say feels like a "routine" for them. My album review for it got featured on RYM too apparently. It seems people like references to "sugar-free ice cream" in reviews.

Anyone heard the new Animal Collective? I really liked Strawberry Jam and MPP, but I couldn't get into this one at all. I guess it's more like their earlier stuff, which I'm not very familiar with and don't really enjoy much, but if you're into that kind of thing then it might be for you. Maybe i'll give it another listen, since some of the rym reviews seem to be saying that one listen isn't enough.

I was never super into animal collective, but I thought Centipede Hz was pretty good.

In other news, after listening to Why?'s Mumps, etc. for an entire day I can pretty confidently say it's a phenomenal release, if a slightly short one. I was sort of put off at first, but after several listens it's really grown on me.

One month after all others I'm finally listening to The Seer by Swans, but I must say I have a bit of trouble really appreciating it. Now the music I usually listen to is quite 'easy', if you can call music that, so this is quite a change. I hope I will learn to appreciate it though, since in itself it does sound good, though not what I'm used to.

Digging the fuck out of this track one of the best house/electronic tracks I've heard in a while.

D-Why's mixtape Don't Flatter Yourself is pretty good also, it falls along the lines of frat rap, but it's nothing like Sam Adams or any of that, he's got a pretty unique sound and some nice lyrics in there.

New based jam mixtape also, only a scholar and gentleman such as Lil B would show such incredible regard to the lower-class demographic by providing them with 2 absolutely flawless based mixtapes in the scope of only 2 months.

Swans is pretty much the polar opposite of "easy" listening.

it's dense, it's dark and it's pretty fucking terrifying.

The new Grizzly Bear album, Shields, is fucking great. Not sure if it beats Veckatimest, but its damn good.

Instead of the regular b-sides they do, the Red Hot Chili Peppers will this time release 9 singles, each with two songs from the I'm With You sessions. The first two are released by now, and they are pretty damn good, some of the songs better than what made the cut for I'm With You.

Just listen to it, it's brilliant. I really, really like the riff, and the percussion during the song really adds to it. I hope this will be the standard for the next seven releases too, since that would be brilliant.
