On to week 8! Please do note that we have round robin matchups in both the winners and the losers brackets, and as such this week may take several attempts to get through fully. As always if any bracket takes more than two attempts to conclude, we all have to meet up here and fight irl to determine the winner. Matchups are below.

Rules:
  • This is a standard SS CAP tournament.
  • The format is best of three, double elimination.
  • Changing teams in between matches is allowed.
  • You are required to post your replays.
  • All Smogon tournament rules apply.
  • Any change in tiering will not take effect until the following round.
  • Matches must be played on Pokemon Showdown or Smogtours.
  • Please use this guide while scheduling with your opponent.

Predictions (requrested!)

Heaven Jay vs reachzero - We've seen these two compete before in a wild Bo5 multi-gen series, and while the games were pretty close Jay is simply more familiar with CG IMO and is extremely flexible with team styles. Basically I think reachzero is gonna get JayStalled after a close G1 and that's gonna be a wrap.
reachzero vs velvet - velvet has been playing pretty good but also doesn't fully seem to know what's happening if Discord posts are to be believed, and any player who can go undefeated under such circumstances is a dangerous foe to face. I give slight edge to reach here but I'm not 100% sold on it.
velvet vs Heaven Jay - Transitive property states that if Jay > reach and reach = velvet then Jay wins this.

luisin vs DetroitLolcat - I got way closer to winning against luisin than I should have so I think that says a lot.
DetroitLolcat vs adem - adem is a good player to have gotten this far but raw activity is low (two byes oof), I have a bit more faith in DLC assuming it isn't an Amoonguss team.
adem vs luisin - tough call, could go either way when both of them readily accept spoo builds.

All I can say is that if this goes more than two rounds, I am supremely confident that will beat you all irl at the Bean.
