5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

The NPCs don't move at the Castelia Pokémon Center, so that would be an ideal choice.

Thanks for the confirmation :)

Another thing, I notice while I was getting ready to search for a spread for my Wonder Card it has an option to select 'Sync Frames' so does this mean Syncronizers are usable for wonder card abuses now? This will be my first wonder card abuse on Gen V so I'm a bit out of touch with the specifics.

Castelia's NPCs don't move in the Pokemon Center, so that's your best bet for BW2. Only in the original BW does the Pokemon League Pokemon Center work for Wonder Cards.

EDIT: Oops, for some reason I thought the question I answered was the latest post in the thread... Don't mind me!

One on one in person HELP in the SoCal area with PPRNG! PLEASE!
im trying to PPRNG in my black version 2 with pprng. i was able to determine my time0 but am un able to find my seed. i feel that it has something to do with the synchronizing of my time with my ds. is there anyone in the SoCal area that can give me step by step in person tutorial, i would be willing to put up some sort of barter of any kind, i am just really anxious in figuring this method out... pm me or post on this thread if anyone is willing or would know anyone who is willing.

i saw religiousjedi's detailed post on how to PPRG but i seem to get lost half way through it with the various foreign terms. i must admit, i am more of a hands on learner, otherwise his post is grade A!

Thanks in advance and sorry for the reposts, im just trying to get someones attention in my area who could help...

As far as I know, syncronize does not work with wondercards...so..no.

Alright gotcha, on yet ANOTHER not. When I finally finished searching for spreads. I copied the seed into the main RNG window with the Wonder Card (5th Gen) selected and it seems the target frame is always TWO frames off of what the frame from the spread search was. Is this normal? I do have the BW2 tic box selected when I click the 'calculate initial frame' is their something I'm doing wrong or is this normal? I've never ran into this sort of thing so I'm not completely sure.

To clarify, my FOUND target frame was 79 but when I do the generate on the main window the frame isn't on 79 but two frames before it on 77

That's a known bug, the frame in the main window should be the correct one.

Quick question: I have Windows XP and I want to RNG on BW2. Where is the latest version of RNG Reporter that works on XP, and does it support BW2?

I've been out of the loop for a while now, and only just noticed you guys have BW2 abuse figured out. Got stacks of Wondercards to go through and it's a rainy day.

The latest version of RNG Reporter that works with Windows XP is 9.96 alpha 16. Unfortunately, the support for Black and White 2 is limited to the Japanese versions.

I'm starting with Dream Radar abuse and I'm wondering if I'm doing it right... I'm following this guide for Reporter.

Using the highlighted seed in this image...
UCYBmAW.png
(target frame - 8)/2 = 4 advances yes?

I entered it into the Time Finder (yes I have Memory Link for this save) using 4 advances + the 2 frame offset for Pokémon with a gender...
rNhl33I.png
Relaxed would be the right nature?

Then, in the Researcher tool, I start at the frame before the Initial as determined in the main window (so frame 49)...

So the spinner results would be 6, 1, 4, 0, or left, up+right, down, and up, right?

4 advances would be correct, yes.

The nature and spinner positions would be correct, though as you have Memory Link activated it may not be the case. Instead the nature and all spinner positions may actually be one before, (so serious, and 5, 1, 4, 7). It would be best use trial and error on a random Pokémon, but this should give you correct results.

Interesting... I may have to test this on an emulator or something simply for a stable Timer0. Thanks.

Edit: Wait... I can't even do that. Man....

Edit 2: Oh wow, you're right. I've been hitting my seed the entire time, but didn't realize it because I had to offset by one less... Looks like I need a new seed.

Hi so I'm trying to breed perfect shinies for my black 2 game but I understand the only way to do it is on a black or white cartridge and trade it over. The only thing I'm not sure about is in the profile, do I put my black 2 or my white 1 trainer id and Sid? And then I trade it over and it hatches shiny?

Also with wild\stationary pokemon with wandering npcs, do they always advance the same amount of frames? Like if I boot up and they advance a frame by 5, then I boot up the same seed is it still advanced by 5? Or do they do random advancements?

Thanks

hi there! Yes, you would use the ID/SID combination of the game where the eggs are going to hatch, in your case B2. Just make sure you don't use international parents because if you do then it won't work.

If you don't save in between trials and your timing is perfect then, yes, they would still advance the same amount of frames.

Wait... something is really weird here. The seed I tried that matches with the 1 frame offset for the spinner results gave the results for a 2 frame offset... but the first one I tried had a 1 frame offset... what??? Am I going to have to check seed for both possibilities, then test to figure out which one works?

Your description here is unclear as to what results you are getting. Can you give more specific details?

Also, are you receiving a gendered or genderless pokemon? The PID frame offset for the nature will differ because it takes an extra frame to force the gender.

I'm trying to RNG a Meloetta and a Deoxys from Wondercards on Black 2, but I'm getting hundreds of results per month with 1-3 Keypresses for Jolly 31/31/31/any/31/31, and none seem to work! Is there something wrong with RNG Reporter 9.96, or is it a problem if you have a bunch of Wondercards? If so, can I fix it somehow?

Edit: the Timer0 isn't the problem, since Adjacent seeds aren't being hit, either

So I am attempting Dream radar RNG with rng reporter, using the guide. My results are:
http://puu.sh/2RELA.png
http://puu.sh/2REM1.png
http://puu.sh/2REMw.png
http://puu.sh/2REMO.png

My spinner sequence started at 55, I assume this is because I have my Black 2 memory linked. I calculated that 10 advancements were required to reach my target frame.

The spinner sequence matched (0-2-1-7-0-1-4-4-7-5-5), the nature matched, but the IVs were wrong. What did I do wrong.

(Sorry if I am re-posting this to this thread again, I am new to the Smogon Forums and am unsure if my post got through.)
Hi there Smogon community!
I'm confused beyond belief with everything that is said about RNG.
I can do it just fine when searching IV's, but when I'm trying to get a flawless shiny Modest Nature Staryu in Black 2 with PIDRNG, much of the info online keeps throwing curve balls at me. So, I would like to make sense of this frame equation and example.

First off:
(Target Frame) - (Initial Frame)-(Starting Frame)+1 = #of Frame Advancements
Isn't Initial and Starting the same thing?

Next: How would I apply it this seed?
Seed: A37F297E2D86BCE9
Frame:10119
Required Lead: Synchronize
Shiny Frame:6642
Encounter Slot: 1
Nature: Synch
Ability: 1
Stats: All 31
Hidden Power: Dark
Gender: Don't care
Date: 05/01/10
Time: 02:31:18
Timer0: 1683
Keypresses: None

You should probably double check your configuration. Have you been successful with normal capture RNGs? Have you calibrated enough to know your full Timer0 range? Have you used Memory Link?

You listed 11 spinner results, which indicates you did 11 advances, and not 10. The IVs you got also show that you are likely 2 IV frames past your target, which would correspond to 1 extra spinner advance.

Most likely, you can't get the nature you want with this seed if advancing 11 times gave you the correct nature.

First off:
(Target Frame) - (Initial Frame)-(Starting Frame)+1 = #of Frame Advancements
Isn't Initial and Starting the same thing?

I'm not sure where you got that frame calculation from, but the correct calculation would be:
(Target Frame) - (Initial Frame) = # of frame advancements.

For example, if your target frame was 55, and your seed's initial frame was 55, you would do 0 advancements.

Next: How would I apply it this seed?
Seed: A37F297E2D86BCE9

Those are extremely high frame numbers and will take you way too long to reach. Limit your search to IV frame 1 and a PID frame around 300 - 500. Add button presses to find more results.

How do you add keypresses? Also, let's say I had a frame of 6 where all IV's are 31, and a nearby shiny frame at 500.
What would be the calculation then?

You can add keypresses either in your profile in RNG Reporter, or in the search window for PPRNG. As Chiizu said, don't go above IV frame 1, there's really no need for it.
