Advanced Tiers Revisited revisited

one of the major reasons for wynaut/wobb ban is if you send them out against each other you have forced stall :/

Breloom really should stay Standard. It's probably the best Umbreon counter there is. Switch it in when they use Mean Look, then Spore it. They'll either switch or die from Focus Punch. As long as you keep Breloom alive, their Umbreon becomes nothing more than useless space.

Breloom's not easy to kill if you don't send it out against anything that can kill it. I just sweeped a team composed of Starmie, Cursisteel, and Salamence with Breloom. You just gotta know when to use him, that's all. He's a great counter to a lot of standards, and can devastate a team. As for usage, I personally see him all the time. Most play the Leech Seed set though, which I've never been a fan of.

The problem is anything can hurt Breloom, really. I once swept a team of OUs with Unown, Unown, Unown, Unown, Unown, Unown, but that doesn't mean Unown is a good Pokemon. Also, if your point is to kill Umbreon, Heracross does that just as well. Moreover, Umreon is very rare--the last one I saw was when I used it a few weeks ago in one battle.

I have also seen very few Brelooms, really.

Maybe you just aren't playing the right people. :) The one I see the least of in the advance tier would either be Donphan (I don't think I've EVER seen one,) Claydol, or Steelix.

I play the general public. Anyone who wants to play me, I play. As long as they don't have an uber in their team. Then I usually refuse, as I don't have to deal with that shit.

I've seen maybe 1 Steelix in 2 months. And 0 Claydols and Donphans. The only person I've ever seen with a Magneton other than my own was Skarm.

This isn't getting anywhere. We need a scout: someone who will go around investigating teams used on a daily basis to find consistent patterns of usage (you don't have to battle to do this; PMs work a lot faster, actually). As a matter of fact, I'm going to go out and do that right now.

Crossfiyah, I see Steelix whenever I NB.

Here are my comments on this:

Blaziken should go to BL. I only see it as an EndRevver or as a fanboy Pokemon nowadays, and with the announced extinction of SkarmBliss, I don't see anyone would use my favorite Pokemon anymore. I've never seen the mixed sweeper set used before by anyone either.

Exeggutor needs to go to BL as well - if not lower. I've seen this thing like ten times in my life on NB, and like half those times were because I was battling some Brazilian.

Forretress is a bit debatable. I've only seen it used by a few people, who lay Spikes and boom each and every time.

Magneton I understand is a bit debatable too. With so many more people using Sub + Roar Skarm, I don't ever see this thing nowadays.

Armaldo is becoming more and more common, which is the only reason why I think it needs a move up to OU. I personally haven't ever used it so I know nothing about it.

Speaking of stuff that's getting more and more common, Cloyster needs a move up as well. On the contrary, I never see Jynx or Jumpluff used. I've even seen more UU Pokemon on some OU teams than I've seen of either Jynx or Jumpluff.

I'm not sure what I'm feeling about Pinsir. It's a total monster in UU, and just about every UU player I've ever battled uses it, but if it was upgraded to BL, not too many people would use it after that because Heracross is already superior in OU.

Before you go after me, please consider who's saying this. ;]

Are you kidding me? I've seen Jynx off the wizoo; it should stay where it is. Steelix is the one not getting enough love...

That's odd then, I guess. Am I the only person who doesn't see Jynx that much?

But yeah, Lix doesn't get nearly enough love.

I dont see Jynx very much. I see a lot of Steelix, Claydol, Donphan, Forretress and Cloyster though. I think Jynx should move down a tier, Cloyster should move up to OU and Claydol, Donphan, Forry and Steelix should stay OU.

I could be a scout of sorts, I have the old patch installed on one of my NetBattle programs which allows anyone to scout teams (as if they didn't have it cloaked).

I agree with what you say on Jynx, except that it should move down a tier. It shouldn't. It's way too powerful for UU.

I'd like to be a scout too.

I'd say that tournament play should be what's used for this entirely. How would my mono-Skarmbliss team be counted otherwise, for instance? For tournaments, you know people will have competetive teams. I could see each round counting toward it, to eliminate the random Pichus or whatever in round 1, and to give extra weight to the players that do better (acting under the assumption that teams that do well will be emulated, giving a predictive nature to the tiers).

If you are very much afraid of a Wobbuffet-Wobbuffet stall, the solution is simple: don't use Wobbuffet. Unlike true stall teams, this type of stall is purely consensual, in a sense.

Wobbuffet should be banned from all tiers because if he wasn't, I would switch in my Wobbuffet/Wynaut in whenever the opponent's was switched in and I was losing. I think we can all agree that ties are gay, so yeah.

By the way, Arcanine should be OU. I've seen a heck of a lot of those lately. Also, scratch Cloyster's potential OU status; it saw a sharp decine in use.

I can't see why that wouldn't happen; if Arcanine is getting more use, it's pretty likely that Cloyster will be going down the drain.

Without Leftovers, it's not a tie, it just takes a bit of time. I consider that a fair consequence to using Wobbuffet, because it sucks. In a battle of two Leftoverless Wobbuffet's the one with lower health, paradoxically, is at an advantage, and since the only way to switch in your own Wobbuffet is after Wobbuffet kills something, you are most likely at a disadvantage by doing so (because my Wobbuffet dies first due to lower health, I can then bring in a Pokemon against your useless Wobbuffet and get one free set up turn where I can do something like Belly Drum with Smeargle).
