(Archive) Small Objective Changes Thread

http://smogon.com/dp/pokemon/golem

Sorry for not getting this with my previous post. :/

The Opinion section reads:
Rhyperior outclasses Golem almost entirely. In UU however, Golem can be a powerful attacker, and provides some useful resistances to Normal, Flying, and Rock. Golem is a decent enough Pokémon, but isn't quite up to the required standard in the higher tiers of the game.

Rhyperior is currently UU.

Choice Scarf set:

If you decide to go with this, then use a Timid nature with the extra EVs put into a different stat, preferably HP as it will make Wailord slightly more bulky.
28/0/0 Wailord = 61,488 / 61,488
0/12/12 Wailord = 62,049 / 62,049

62,049 > 61,488

Not to mention, 28 EVs give a bad residual damage number (488).. and you still have one more EV with the second spread. So you should change it to:

If you decide to go with this, then use a Timid nature with the extra EVs put into a different stat, preferably divided over or in one defensive stat(s) as it will make Wailord slightly more bulky than if you simply place them in HP.

The Defense EVs on this set grant Swampert exceptional physical bulk, letting him take most resisted and neutral physical attacks with ease. 240 HP EVs give Swampert more all-around bulk, and 52 Special Defense EVs are used to allow Swampert to take neutral and resisted special attacks, such as Dragonite's Draco Meteor and Heatran's Fire Blast, more easily.

On-site the EV spread is 248 HP / 212 Def / 48 SpD, so either the sentence or the EV spread is incorrect.

I hesitate to post this, for fear of being wrong, but I think the sentence you fixed is still incorrect. It reads:
240 HP EVs give Swampert more all-around bulk, and 48 Special Defense EVs are used to allow Swampert to take neutral and resisted special attacks, such as Dragonite's Draco Meteor and Heatran's Fire Blast, more easily.
It previously read "52 Special Defense EVs," so that part is fixed, but it's supposed to read "248 HP EVs," and it reads "240 HP EVs."

Yeah, this was changed not too long ago in a haste-n-rush job. My apologies, since I was the one who actually changed the EV spread and didn't fix anything else. This has been resolved.

In the UU Overview
It is also one of the few solid counters for Absol and Rock-types such as Rhydon.
And in the UU Team Options, 3rd paragraph
Regirock, Rhydon, Relicanth, and other Rock-types can take these Flying-type attacks with ease.
These should both be changed to Rhyperior. I assume it was written when Rhyperior was still OU.

The Optional Changes section is misnamed Additional Changes in Milotic's analysis and Other Options in Weezing's (despite the rest of the analysis being in the updated format).

fixed, fixed, fixed, and fixed. Thanks Honko!

130 base Attack + STAB + 80 Base Power is the most powerful natural priorty in the game. That sentence is correct, since the only things to gain STAB on ExtremeSpeed are Arceus (120), Linoone (70) and Togekiss (50).

http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/vaporeon

Hello, I noticed a problem in the Vaporeon analysis. For one, the listed spread for the Wish Support is 248HP/224Def/36SpD. While this is alright, in the sets description it states this.

"The reason why the EV spread makes special emphasis on Vaporeon's HP and Defense stats is to enhance its overall bulk and turn it into a more reliable Wish Passer. Making the HP stat divisible by 16 will maximize Leftovers recovery, and the 188 EVs achieve this. The 252 Defense EVs and Bold nature are used in order to improve Vaporeon's physical defense and provide it with the necessary bulk to take hits from the likes of Gyarados and Infernape better. The EVs given maximise Vaporeon's bulk, as well as giving it a Leftovers number for maximum recovery."

As you can see, the set comments are explaining a thread which isn't currently listed. Also, the current spread which is on site doesn't seem to hit a leftovers number. You would need a full 252HP EVs to hit your highest leftovers number, not 248 simply because 248 makes 463 HP which isn't divisable by 16.

If you divide 463 by 16, you get 28.9375. Last time I checked pokemon always rounds down, so to hit your next leftovers number you would need a full 252HP EVs. 252HP EV's will make your HP 464, and when divided by 16 is 29 exactly.
