Castform = WIN

400 Spatk
with Specs, in UU, that's a lot. Can learn:
BoltBeam, Flamethrower, Energy Ball

The 4 strongest special attack in 1 Pokemon, and it's UU. Castform is a MUST-HAVE in a UU team.

About Celebi...

Is it only possible to get it legitly in Japanese versions? I got a really nice Modest one from the GTS but the OT and name is in English. (It's called CELEBI instead of セレビィ)

Also, is it possible for them to come from Kanto?

From what I know Celebi is not catchable in game. The japanese ones you see are either from the japanese colosseum bonus disk (american bonus disk has jirachi instead) or from other events. American and european celebis are only from events like the 10 ANIV ones.
The only celebi that could be catched ingame was during the G/S/C generation and only in the japanese version of the game. The event was activated by some external device I think.
I have an american 10 ANIV Celebi, it comes from Hoenn but I think that depends on which game was used to receive it from the event because GBA events lose the "Fateful encounter" thing when they are transfered to the DS. I don't know if the 10 ANIV Celebis where given when the FR/LG games were available since I'm not from the US.

I don't think it's a 10anniv Celebi. The OT is FRAZER. Don't 10th Anniversery Pokemon have 10ANNIV as the OT or something?

yes the ID from 10 ANIV is 10 ANIV for american and 10ANNIV from european, so it is definitely hacked. Probably the wild encounter code.
Celebi isn't obtainable in-game so it's impossible to have one with your OT.

GOD DAMN!! And it was good, too. :pirate:

Modest
31 / 20 / 6 / 18 / 29 / 21

at least I still have the Jolly one. Back to fishing.

That'd be good but... I don't have an Eevee on my Emerald version, making it a little hard to get Icy wind on Vaporeon... Otherwise I would probably do that. I'm trying to figure out a way to do that tatctic without Vaporeon.

Although waiting that turn does protect me from fake-outers... something I kinda forgot about, however the only other pokemon that could possibly withstand attacks are Glaceon and Kabutops... Could they possibly do the job of vaporeon? I kinda doubt their capacity to take hits, especially since one is weak to rock while the other is weak to ground, the two attacking types used the most in doubles...

I think either Glaceon or Kabutops would be fine. Glaceon would be my personal choice (for Helping Hand). If you're worried about Rock attacks, you could give it a Charti Berry. It could still be flinched by Rock Slide, but so can most Pokémon. Also, make sure to max out its HP.

How come people don't use castform often? I mean sure its stats are a bit low, but it has such a unique weather ability, that I think it has the potential to be used even in OU. You could pack a castform into a team, with multiple weather type conditions, and just keep changing the weather to swap castform's attributes. Don't you guys think that'd be awesome?

Like Jiggy-Ninja is saying, Castform isn't really viable in the current standard game. It is, however, a perfectly good Pokémon in Double Battles. It's no coincidence that it was introduced in the 3rd generation. There it can keep the weather active and has great type coverage with its outstanding special attack movepool. Just max its HP so that it can take a hit.

Whether you use it in Singles or Doubles, though, I think it's best to stick with one weather condition. Swapping it around isn't very practical and wastes a lot of turns. It'll often get you stuck in a situation where you have to bring out a Rain Dance Pokémon in the sun, etc.

EDIT:
Am I insane for thinking that there was an Attack that did damage and had a Chance to inflict Toxic?

Nope. Poison Fang is the attack you're thinking of.

Think it has potential to kill some OU pokes? I'm trying to make a RD team, but I don't know what to use, an I thought castform would be pretty surprising and awesome.

2 questions. I haven't been here in monthes, what happened to the search function? Also, what are the differences between snatch & psych up?

Does psych up allow you to steal all the speed/attack/etc boost a pokemon would use? Does psych up hit through sub/protect?

Does snatch only allow you to steal the last "snatchable" move? In that case does snatch need to be used on the same turn?

Hi, my name is Clefable. I do all that, and am immune to residual damage and toxic/burn, I might be 10 speed slower, but 90/73/90 defenses and 85 spA make me far superior to castform that isn't trying to use weatherball. Not to mention that I can CM and Softboiled/Wish if I want.

Aggrivating (Aggron) (F) @ Chople Berry
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 255 Atk/255 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Dragon Rush
- Metal Burst
- Take Down
- Ice Punch

i need to know if i should use this

1. Psych up copies the already made statchanges (including, if you're slower, the stat up they just made). Don't remember if it goes through sub-tect though.

2. Yes.
[NAME]
Snatch ***
[SHORT DESC]
If certain moves are used, the user of Snatch uses the moves instead.
[LONG DESC]
Stuff Snatch works on:

* All self-effecting stat ups (including Belly Drum and Defense Curl, but excluding Curse)
* Aromatherapy
* Camouflage
* Charge
* Heal Order
* Ingrain
* Light Screen
* Milk Drink
* Mist
* Moonlight
* Morning Sun
* Psych Up
* Recover
* Reflect
* Refresh
* Rest
* Roost
* Safeguard
* Softboiled
* Stockpile
* Substitute
* Synthesis
* Swallow
* Synthesis
* Tailwind

Snatch will take the first Snatchable move used, and not attempt to Snatch any others.

Snatch's interaction with Snatch:

If two Pokemon use Snatch on the same turn, the faster Pokemon will Snatch the first Snatchable move, then the slower Pokemon will Snatch that move from the faster Snatcher, meaning only the slowest Snatcher on the field will get the bonuses from whatever is being Snatched.

Snatch's interaction with Psych Up: If a Pokemon Snatches Psych Up, Psych Up will target whichever Pokemon used Psych Up.

If you breed two of the same species of Pokemon who have the same moves, those moves which are level up moves which aren't TMs, but specifically are in a different version, will it still pass them down?

Example: breeding two Rage Charmanders together in D/P, when it only level-up learns that move in RSE.

AR codes != legit. Ever. XD
Legit + helps breeding = contradiction (debatably barring the IV check code).

My guess would be no, since the game would check the learnset that's programmed into D/P.

I was wondering, how exactly to stat-up moves affect Me First?

For example, if a ScarfLucario used Me First to use Dragon Claw on a SDChomp which has already used SD, is the boost included in the move's power? What if the user of Me First has used a stat-up move? Same with stat-down stuff like Intimidate.

Also, Revenge has 60 base power, but is it still affected by Technician if you are hit first?

Me First just allows the user to use the damaging move its opponent was about to use. In that case, just imagine that Lucario knew Dragon Claw and used it with a 1.5x boost similar to that of Life Orb. (i.e. same place in the damage formula)

As for Revenge, if you are damaged first, Revenge's BP goes to 120 before Technician can apply to it.

How exactly does the assist work?

could i somehow make it a guarentee that i would use a certain move with assist?

Hi, I don't give a rip about clefable. I want to know about castform, since I plan to make a weather team. My question was, could it function in OU somewhat?
