From the "Moves" part of the Diamond/Pearl references:

No opponent can use any move that the user also knows. The effect is lost when the user switches out or faints. If the user shares no moves with any opponent at the time of use, Imprison fails. If the user gains new moves after using Imprison (through Mimic, Sketch, or Transform), those new moves are Imprisoned.

Also, it only effects my opponent, correct? So if I Imprison Protect, my Pokemon can still use Protect, but my opponent cannot, correct?

Let's say I had a Wobbuffet and my foe has 2 pokemon, one knowing U-Turn. So the U-Turner ...well...U-Turns out to Pokemon#2 and hurts my Wobb in the process. If I used Counter on the same turn he used U-Turn, who would get hit?

EDIT:Thanks!

The second Pokemon coming in. Nasty surprise. :P

hi, i just got a new pokemon on my team its a level 40 regice with the IV's 9/31/31/8/15/17 the thing is that he is relaxed, if i remember all the sets on smogon say that he should have the sp.defence increasing one, but its too late for that. Any suggestiongs on EV's? these arnt as important but maybe if you know how high his sp.defence can go with max ev's in sp.def and maybe a good move set? Thanks.

Probably latios

how do you ohko tyranitar without a fighting move.

They just tested Latios. ._.

A STAB ground type move. A STAB steel move. A STAB bug move.
See: Mamoswine, Rhyperior EQ, Metagross Meteor Mash, Scizor Bullet Punch, Heracross Megahorn, etc.

Set up sunlight and SOLARBEAM ITS FACE. That probably wouldn't work.
Choice Specs Modest Kyogre with a full-power Water Spout can KO a Careful Max HP/ Max Sp. Def Tyranitar in Sandstorm. :D

That was fun.

Anyone know? I need it for my team for the VGC.

I think I remember reading somewhere that to maximize Snorlax's defenses, you'd just pour it into Defenses until it's maxed. Then you could stick the rest in Attack, or split it between HP and Sp. Def. Let me check again.

Edit: Yep. According to X-Act's defense applet, a Snorlax (assuming max IVs) who wants the highest balance of Defense and Special Defense should just max out HP and Defense (and +Defense boosting nature, such as Impish, or Relaxed for Trick Room) and stick the remaining 4 EVs in Sp. Def.

Will there be another suspect after voting on Manaphy is closed? If so, who is next?

It hasn't been decided yet. Watch Policy Review and the Stark stickies. Any news will be included there. It isn't some invisible announcement blocked only on your account.

To be completely honest it isn't usable in real competitive play. The best I could get was 252 HP/144 Def/112 SDef; Max HP is a must, the Def EVs equal the Restalk and BoltBeam defensive stat, and the rest are in SDef (though it's still like 50 points short >_>). You could always try the counter-curse set.

If you're interested in a special wall, you can't really go wrong with Blissey.

Time for a question of my own. :D

Using Libelldra's damage calculator, let's put in a hypothetical situation:

Attacker's stat: 100
Defender's stat: 100
Defender's HP: 100
Base Power of move: 100
Everything neutral, no STAB, no other influences.

Now that scenario is not really necessary, but just for the sake of reference numbers: The damage output when calculated at level 100 averages to 79%. When you change it to level 50, however, the damage becomes 42% average (woot 42). My question is why that is. XD Considering the stats and everything are the same for both, why should level determine the percentage damage done? Maybe I'm missing something really obvious...

Are you kidding me? Not really usable in competitive play? I'm talking Doubles here. It's for the VGC. It's part of last year's winner's team! BellyLax + Psych Up Metagross on a Trick Room Team supported by Dusknoir and Dark Void Smeargle is nearly unbeatable!

Don't expect anyone to know that you were talking about VGC Double battles when you didn't mention it in your post, as for your original question there is a website called skarmbliss.com where Smogoners(or Smogonites, your pick) are making sets and strategies for the VGC check there.

Whether you want to believe it or not, the attacker's level is included in the damage formula; in fact, it's the first thing considered in the formula!

See the damage formula here: http://www.smogon.com/dp/articles/damage_formula

I did specify Doubles, just not specifically VGC. And I know all about skarmbliss.com. I've been browsing it's forums for about two weeks now. The only problem is that people aren't very active there, and they have yet to make a set for Snorlax.

...Veedrock was replying to Eon's question. The Regice's IVs weren't too great. I answered your question about maximizing Snorlax's defenses; 252 HP/ 252 Defense/ 4 Sp. Defense

So...

I went to level my Feebas' Beauty but I didn't have the right berries, and most of the ones I need aren't available right now.

How would I go about evolving her now? Is it possible to trade with someone and have them trade me a random pokemon with a berry on it I can grow? If so, let me know and send me a PM and I'd love it =D

I have some Pamtre berries lying around. They take forever to grow, though. :<

OH! A thought just hit me. If you have Platinum, they have stalls in B1F of Veilstone Department store where they sell special berries just for making Poffins for like 200 bucks a berry. :D If you have Platinum, just horde up on those things and start blending. XD
