Now that i have my awesome pokes, i'm safe to disagree with mattj. I say Blissey, if only because while her defense is absolute trash, that fatass can take a lot of beatings on the special side, and Softboiled only adds to that.

I assume you mean exclusive special defense walls, but judging from Fate's post, i guess you want both. In which case, there's no argument necessary. Cresselia. It actually has a base defense stat, haha.

Regarding the release of Black and White, will the new pokemon's base stats be posted this Fall/Winter, or not until it is released in the US/other countries? I realize it can take a while but -for example- about how long after D/P was released did we have the new pokemon info up? Thanks a lot! (If this is supposed to be in a Black/White sub-forum, I'm really sorry and I'll re-post it there)

What would be the best EV spread to maximize the defenses of a Calm Giratina with 501 HP?

EDIT: I just found a spread that maximizes both defenses with the IVs that I have.

248 HP / 192 Def / 70 SDef

Anybody have a moveset for an Impish, flawless Manaphy?

The only reason Manaphy is used as a special attacker is Tail Glow. So without Swords Dance and having a physical movepool limited to Waterfall, U-turn, Return, (also Dive and Knock Off, although only usable on defensive sets,) and nothing else usable, a physical attacker is possible, but not good. The only use I can come up with is a stalling set utilizing Hydration in the rain with moves like Toxic or Swagger.

I just wanted to get some use out of my new event Manaphy... would a moveset of Dive/Toxic/Bounce/Rest work as a toxic stall gimmick?

Also, which gets better coverage Water + Ice + Electric or Water + Dragon + Fire?

I've seen a similar Suicune set before (although Suicune has Pressure, which helps) with the moves Toxic / Substitute / Protect / Dive. But I guess you could go with Rest instead of Substitute if you have the Rain up.

Dragon + Fire is unresisted outside of Heatran, so with Water included, it hits anything neutrally or super effective.

Water + Ice + Electric can't hit Lanturn neutrally, but that's the only Pokémon that comes to mind.

And in response to you and Delko, Suicune has Pressure, Manaphy has Hydration, so Manaphy can probably take more of a beating in a shorter period of time, while Suicune can stall longer.

You might want to replace either Dive or Bounce(one of those) with Rain Dance. Thanks to Hydration, Manaphy's sleep is healed allowing you to spam Rest and stall.

Well judging by the fact that Manaphy is Uber, I think it's pretty safe to say that she'll be using it alongside Kyogre...

Why is Gyarados still OU? It is really bad. My team owns him completely. It should be UU soon.

Doesn't matter one bit if your team owns him. OU is determined by usage stats and Gyarados is #3 most used currently, notice how it counters #1 Heatran and #2 Scizor. I would never expect Gyarados to drop to UU.

That is a horrible arguement.
...
As would that be if I left it like that.

Like Fatecrashers said, it is based off usage. Also, Gyarados is by no way bad. It has good stat distribution, Dragon Dance, good physical movepool to work with the previously mentioned, Intimidate to take physical hits and be bulkier, and it resists Fire, Steel, Bug, Fighting, and is immune to ground, all of which are currently very highly used attacking types (see scizor and heatran).

Unlike GSC, Gyarados is in OU by a longshot this gen, with no chance of falling for quite some time.
