Ask a simple question, get a simple answer - mark 24 (READ THE OP)

Is there anything needing to get done around here? Also why is Suicune still OU? That set doesn't work as well as it should.

OU, UU, and NU are all based on how much the pokemon is used. to fall from OU to UU, you need to be ranked in the high 40s or low 50s, and suicune as it stands is the 23rd most used poke in OU, so that aint happening anytime soon.

What is the limbo tier?

disregard what i just said, its for suspects (pokes that are in testing to see which tier they fall under)

1) I have the Jirachi and Enigma Stone wi-fi events downloaded on my soulsilver, but I haven't activated them yet (I am a crappy RNG abuser). If I re-start my game, can I still get the event pokemon?

2) What if I activated the events but still have the wondercards (I believe you can hold up to 3 at a time) and re-start my game? Can I get them?

How many times are you initially allowed to change your name? As in, when you haven't done it at all?

I'm considering a name change, but it says there's only one change left even though I haven't done it at all before.

Can someone fill me in?

Base speed is simply a pokemon's speed at level 50 with a neutral nature and 0 IVs and EVs. Essentially, the base stats are just there to give someone an idea about the pokemon's strengths and weaknesses, but it doesn't represent the speed you'll be seeing in a fully trained pokemon. Things like natures, IVs, EVs, items, and stat boosting moves all change the speed stat around.

I hate to come off as an idiot but I still don't get it. Let's say one Pokemon has a base speed of 90 and it's Speed is 150 and another Pokemon has a base speed of 60 and it's speed is 200. Which is faster? 200 is greater than 150 but 90 is greater than 60. From my perspective there are 2 sets of numbers determining one Pokemon's speed but I'm not getting which one trumps the other unless you're supposed to add them together. Once again I'm not trying to act dumb but it's just not connecting inside my head.

In your example, Pokemon A has a higher base speed than Pokemon B, but Pokemon B is faster. Why? This could be due to one or more of the following:

1. Pokemon B is at a higher level than Pokemon A
2. Pokemon B has more speed EVs than Pokemon A
3. Pokemon B has a higher speed IV than Pokemon A
4. Pokemon B has a speed boosting nature, Pokemon A doesn't

Assuming Pokemon A and B were on the same level and both had the same speed IVs, natures and EVs, then Pokemon A would be faster because it has the higher base speed.

What Pokémon can check 2 or more of the following threats?

Dragon Dance Gyarados
Choice Scarf Starmie
Choice Scarf Heatran
Shaymin (land forme)

Perhaps a Choice Scarf Gengar would work?

Why is it recommended for Blissey EV spreads to be 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe now? Does it save Blissey from barely surviving a certain physical attack? 252 HP EVs only add about 9% to overall survivability, while 252 SpD EVs add about 20% to Special bulkiness, or 25% with a Calm Nature.

Base speed is used to calculate the Pokemon's actual speed stat; once the stat is calculated the base speed becomes irrelevant.

Its because Blissey already complley walls the special metagame without any investment, so its put into HP for more leftovers, and better able to survive strong physical hits, like stone edges and outrages

Choice scarf porygon-z seems like a fit. Can outspeed +1 Gyara, scarfed heatran and your shaymin and can pack a punch. Tbolt for DDgyara and Scarf starmie, HP fighting to hit heatran and ice beam for shaymin. Tri attack for the hax and adaptability boost.

I haven't run dmg calcs but im pretty sure with stealth rocks everything falls to a 2hko or 1hko. gyara is a def 1hko. Starmie a def 1hko after SR. From memory neutral 130spA does 1hko's 60% to scarfed starmie without. scarf tran and shaymin i doubt would be 3hko, most likely 2.

Only problem is starmie outspeeds and I'm pretty sure hydro pump is a 2hko.

As for scarf gengar, porygon-z hits those 4 just as hard and isn't susceptible to a fleeing pursuit once your opponent recognizes scarf or just wants to revenge kill. Starmie also outspeeds Gengar and after SR, HPump becomes a 1hko.

Well it could face issues with Nasty Plotters and some Specs holders. Infernape could boost Focus Blast and OHKO with aid of any residual damage. Porygon-Z can 2HKO with a boosted Tri-Attack. She won't be able to counter a Specs Lucario, since Aura Sphere 2HKOs. Although situational, but not impractical at all, Specs Flash Fire Boosted Modest Fire Blasts from Heatran can't be stalled out of. Gengar sucks more HP with Pain Split and hits much harder with Focus Blast. LO Focus Blast from Gengar could possibly 2HKO with SR and one layer of Spikes. Shaymin can 2HKO with Specs Seed Flare should the SpD drop happen.

Even some UU Pokemon could cause trouble. Should Houndoom receive a Flash Fire Boost, Blissey can't switch in because Fire Blast can 2HKO, and should it use Nasty Plot, Blissey just can't be used to stop it. Should Rain happen, Omaster can 2HKO with Hydro Pump with SR. Ambipom can Baton Pass a Nasty Plot and an Agility to any Specs (or LO) holder and make it near impossible to get walled by Blissey.

Quick question: How viable is it to run Heatproof on Bronzong? I know Levitate is the norm, and therefore no one would ever attack Bronzong with a Ground move, ever. So, is it possible to use that to my advantage, and gain the benefits of Heatproof? Obviously, it only works the first time, once people see it's Heatproof, ground moves galore, but at least until then you can gain the benefits of Heatproof and possibly survive Fire Attack(s). Or would Dual Screen-ing just be way more reliable?

I would say Dual Screening is more reliable, and since you know it's going to work only the one time, even Occa Berry is more beneficial in the long run.

Capture Project & Breeding Project.
A CP is a task you give to someone to catch a pokémon for you (mostly legendaries). A BP is a task you give to someone to breed a pokémon with a certain nature, ability and egg moves (eventually shinyness.)
