um yeah I have a question. when I make gimmick teams I use dusknoir because its my favorite pokemon and then like 90% of players that have scizor use it as their first dusknoir switchin. I even see it in tons of RMT where people list scizor as their supposedly foolproof dusknoir counter. Why do people think scizor is a dusknoir counter? its pursuit does piss damage and it'll probably just get burned anyway or possibly raped by fire punch. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this, it just kinda irks me and frankly I don't get it.

The idea behind it is if CB or SD scizor comes in to a dusknoir without firepunch, the dusknoir will always die. You're right in saying it risks getting statused as it isn't the most full proof counter, but it will guarantee a dead dusknoir. CB Pursuit is a 1hko if it tries to switch out and a 2hko if it stays in and a 2hko 70% of the time if dusknoir WoW's. SD scizor is a bit trickier, SD, if it switches then its not the worst scenario but a lot of the time it mis-predicts a CB and a pursuit staying in and WoW'ing. +1 will 2hko with burn, 1hko if it tries its luck on your 2nd SD to switch out.
But you are right. If it packs fire punch scizor is in no way a switch in.
I have a Dratini that I am EV training. It has fought one Ursaring and two Ponytas. I have given it 10 Carbos, 5 Proteins, and 10 HP UPS. My question is would that bring Dratini's Speed EVs to 102, or would it stop at 100?

The EVs should be 100 Spe, 52 Atk, and 100 HP. The maximum a vitamin can fulfill is up to 100 EVs. Should you have 92 Speed EVs, the next Carbos would take it to 100, instead of 102.

Alrighty, I've been out of the Metagame since about early HGSS. Is it really worth it to get back in at the moment, or am I just best off waiting on fifth gen? I had a few facepalm moments listening to one of the smogcasts where Scarftar was mentioned, and I'm really having trouble taking a metagame where people use Choice Scarf Machamp seriously.
No one uses Scarfchamp, only Scarftar. The reason Scarftar went up in usage was in reaction to the Latias threat, who could rip teams apart with that Specs Draco Meteor and Surf. Scarftar was basically the best check you could throw on a team sans Blissey (who gets Tricked) and Snorlax (who either hits it with a weak Pursuit if Latias stays in or Crunches and then risks Latias switching out). Additionally, Scarftar checks Starmie, Gengar, non-priority Infernape, non-Bullet Punch SD Lucario, Mixmence (when it was still OU), and lots of other Pokemon.
You don't need to take anything seriously, it's just competitive Pokemon. If you want to get back into it, now's as good a time as ever. We have a major Smogon Tournament coming up in four days that anyone can join and you're probably going to want a few days to freshen up before you play with the big boys.

The problem is that there isn't all that much that likes switching into Dusknoir. Most physical attackers without Guts faces the same burn threat (except for Breloom if it's already poisoned, but Breloom can't do that much to Dusknoir unless it has Swords Dance), Heracross isn't used that often, and Machamp usually runs No Guard. Then you're left with special attackers, walls, and Fire-types; Starmie, Rotom, and Gengar are weak to Dusknoir's STAB, Heatran is 4x weak to Earthquake, Blissey can only use Toxic (and hates Pain Split), Infernape is weak to Earthquake and has crappy defenses. Zapdos is probably the best switch-in, but if you're using a defensive Zapdos, it won't like being burned either. So when it comes down to it, Dusknoir is a surprisingly difficult Pokemon to switch into, as it can mess up most Pokemon with one of its three most common moves (Will-O-Wisp, Earthquake, or Shadow Punch). If you're not particularly good at prediction, Scizor becomes the default switch-in; Fire Punch isn't seen as a common move on Dusknoir (and Dusknoir isn't a particularly common Pokemon with all of the Rotom-A running around), and as Ethics said, Scizor can cripple Dusknoir even if it gets burned. Tyranitar does the same thing, it just isn't used as often as Scizor.

It has a priority of +0. It's pretty good, because there's a gimmicky Aerodactyl where you have: Roar; Sleep Talk; Rest and Whirlwind. Along with SR (and preferrably spikes) you can have Roar and Whirlwind go before your opponent can attack, and since not a lot is going to outspeed Aero, you can ruin teams with it. Is tricky to pull off, and is very gimmicky indeed.
Is Earthquake's power in doubles is reduced by 25% as long as there's more than 2 Pokemon on the field? In other words, in an 1 on 1 situation late in the match, Earthquake is full power, right? But not before then?
According to some on-site articles, EQ is at 100% power any time there is only 1 possible target. This also applies when another target is KO'd mid turn. If it hits two targets and KOs the first one, then it hits the second one with full power.
Legal hacks, as mentioned in the Battle Me thread. I assume that means using an AR/Sav to create Pokes that have legit moves, EVs etc?
Lucario is in the Ground and Humanshape egg groups, Togekiss is in the Flying and Fairy egg groups. So they can't breed together, but you can breed them with appropriate egg group Pokémon or Ditto to get a specific nature

Not sure what you mean, but that Lucario wouldn't be affected in anyway except that it might level up somewhat and learn new moves, it won't gain any EVs or anything. Of course you do get a brand new Riolu out of it.
Lemme re-word that. I have a Lucario with bad EVs if I breed it, will the Riolu inherit anything bad? Bad IVs or something?
