Ask a simple question, get a simple answer - mark 24 (READ THE OP)

Hey guys, I'm new here but not to pokemon xD Anyways, after a long time googling I can't find the answer to this one... If electivire is hit by Tri-Attack, does it gain the speed boost bonus/activate the motor drive ability? Thanks in advance.

No. Tri-Attack is a Normal-typed move, whereas Motor Drive is activated by Electric-typed moves.

Would it be useful to run a Milotic set with Flame Orb & Recover to get the sure defense boost and still be able to stay alive? Burn only cuts attack, so it doesn't matter because you are only using special attacks.

no, i mean, what should I offer in a trade if i want pp maxes?

Depends on who you want them from. Go ask someone if they have them, and then see what they want for them. It's kinda subjective, there's no set rule to say what an item is worth.

yeah, but losing 12% health every turn isnt helpful, and you lose the 6% health you would have from lefties. So every turn you run flame orb over lefties you have 18% less health than usual.

Well it could face issues with Nasty Plotters and some Specs holders. Infernape could boost Focus Blast and OHKO with aid of any residual damage.
24/232+ Blissey gets taken down 28% after SR, 66% after SR + SS, so that's not helping there.
Porygon-Z can 2HKO with a boosted Tri-Attack.
24/232+ Blissey gets taken down with SR and SS anyway.
She won't be able to counter a Specs Lucario, since Aura Sphere 2HKOs.
Bold Blissey can easily switch out to a ghost, I'd rather not stay in and Softboiled because you can easily get critted.
Although situational, but not impractical at all, Specs Flash Fire Boosted Modest Fire Blasts from Heatran can't be stalled out of.
24/232+ Blissey gets 2HKOed after SR anyway.
Gengar sucks more HP with Pain Split and hits much harder with Focus Blast.
Blissey's not beating Gengar anyway unless the Gengar player mispredicts and Blissey manages to get off a Twave on it.
LO Focus Blast from Gengar could possibly 2HKO with SR and one layer of Spikes.
Most Gengars are SubSplit, so Blissey's not beating it anyway.
Shaymin can 2HKO with Specs Seed Flare should the SpD drop happen.
LO Shaymin is better, and that's only if you run Modest Shaymin. Even Subseed Shaymin beats Blissey.
Even some UU Pokemon could cause trouble. Should Houndoom receive a Flash Fire Boost, Blissey can't switch in because Fire Blast can 2HKO, and should it use Nasty Plot, Blissey just can't be used to stop it.
Houndoom is nonesistant, I'd rather be more worried about Infernape because Houndoom is outclassed.
Should Rain happen, Omaster can 2HKO with Hydro Pump with SR.
Most OU RD teams don't even have room for Omastar since they mostly include Kabutops, Kingdra, and Ludicolo + 3 supporters. However, I'll give you that point.
Ambipom can Baton Pass a Nasty Plot and an Agility to any Specs (or LO) holder and make it near impossible to get walled by Blissey.
The most powerful Pokemon are already mentioned above and how 24/232+ Blissey already struggles against them. What else could be stronger?

Not sure if this is the right place for this but I thought I'd ask anyway.

As you all know Pokemon Black and White come out in around a month. Now I can be impatient sometimes and as a result am looking to import one of the games. I was wondering if anyone knows of a reliable website that is willing to ship the game to the US. This is all assuming that the games will work on a US DS (I own a DS Lite). If they won't work then I won't bother to import, obviously. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Dugtrio ingame that has Rock Tomb/Slash/Earthquake/Night Slash. I need a more powerful move than Rock Tomb, but I already used my Rock Slide TM. How can I improve the rock coverage?

couldnt find anywhere else.

how do you post a Show/hide thing?

When making a post, the farthest icon above the text area (the - in the yellow box) can be clicked to generate the code. You just enter the information you want to hide between the code.

Alternatively, you can just type stuff between [ hide ] and [ /hide ] without the spaces.

Does anyone know why in the analysis Liquid Ooze is recommended over Clear Body on Tentacruel's defensive/utility sets?

Wouldn't it be better to have Clear Body to prevent the chance of his either of his defenses dropping?

because on defensive sets you are less likely to need attack (intimidate), and unless you face off against a rare screech using pokemon, it is better to be able to counter something like sub seed breloom or celebi.

I know you won't need attack and yeah I know no one uses pure debuffer moves. I'm talking about secondary effects however like Shadow Ball or Crunch's ability to lower your defenses.

I certainly can see the merits of countering subseed Breloom or Celebi, but it seems you'd run into pokemon that would lower your defenses through secondary chances more likely.

I suppose that could happen, though that is like battle armor vs sniper on drapion. I think the 10% chance shadow ball lowers your defense is negligible in comparison too the ability to counter sub seeders. also, the only 3 pokemon which carry shadow ball in OU carry thunderbolt with it (gengar, jolteon, rotom -a), so you shouldnt really stay in on them. Neither should you stay in in crunch, since tentacruel is a special defender

Okay, for competitive battling, Mold Breaker is usually the better ability on Pinsir. But what about for in-game? I'm gonna use a Pinsir on my SoulSilver team, and I think that Hyper Cutter may be the better ability to use, since my Pinsir is gonna learn Swords Dance, and it would suck to lose half of the boost to an Attack dropper. But, I also think that Mold Breaker could have its uses, especially since Intimidate isn't as much of a threat in-game as it is in competitive battling, and I'm not so sure that there are too many Pokémon in-game that use Attack-lowering moves. So, which ability is better for Pinsir in-game?

Is it possible to create an OU team that can counter most OU threats? Because I've many teams that are solid but are sort of screwed against some pokemon.
