how does the yanmega/yanma evolution work. do i just leveled up yanma until it learns ancient power and then it should evolve in its next level up
Wait, I thought it had to level up again after learning the move to evolve? That's what Serebii says, anyway...Yanma will level up, learn Ancientpower, and then immediately evolve.
Your Yanma had to have leveled up in the battle, as unless Serebii is wrong, it would have to level up after learning AncientPower in order to evolve. (And I can't seem to remember Serebii being wrong on much of anything...)My Yanmega did what I just mentioned.
Yanma grew to level whatever.
Yanma wants to learn Ancientpower.
Yanma learned Ancientpower.
Player defeated whatever.
Yanma evolves.
That's how it worked for my little fella, at least.
It should. I'd still like to see for myself, though. On that note, if Ancientpower is bred onto it and it comes out as a Level 1 baby with Ancientpower, does it evolve as soon as it hits level 2?

For Torterra, no 1 IV is really outstandingly important, but it's advisable to have 20-25+ (yeah, just like every other Pokemon) on everything except Special Attack which doesn't matter. If you want, you can put in some Speed to outrun Swampert, but you won't be doing much else with those Speed EVs.What IVs are important for, say, subseeder Torterra (or any other kind)? And does speed matter that much for it (it only has like 55 base SPD)?
I found a Gastly that I got in a trade a while back that I forgot about.
Its IVs are 31/18/27/30/31/31 speed last, not bad but it's modest. Will being modest hurt it much, or is there a moveset that benefits it from being modest? I was thinking about scarfing it, but need one more move to
Shadow Ball
Focus Blast
Thunderbolt
I would like to use hidden power ice, but her hidden power is grass.
What can I do with this Gengar?
Relax is -speed +defence which is decent for hariyama as he hasnt got impressive speed in the first place and the defence boost is just going to add to his durability along with his massive hp.Are there certain areas that have a higher rate of giving shinies out that other areas? I am in Emerald's Victory Road training and in the past 2 days I've been playing I have got 2 shinies (A Relaxed Golbat and Relaxed Hariyama =\) om exactly the same area. Or am I just lucky?
And while I'm at it, is Relaxed a decent nature for a Hariyama?
EDIT: Wow, for a shiny it has decent IVs :D

Every area has the same chance of getting a shiny Pokemon.

It's decent, and can help it survive a Stone Edge or Crunch from Tyranitar or something.
