Speaking of IVs and Hidden Power, does anyone know the formula for calculating Hidden Power Type and Power? I don't remember ever seeing one since GSC... (Either that or I'm completely lost as to where to find it.)

I asked this a few days ago but didn't get a response:

How much (if any) speed should be pumped into EV's for a Skarmory? At base 70 it's not winning any races, but is there a magic number it should shoot for to outspeed certain threats, or is it better just to concentrate on defences and some attack?

Anyone?

Skarmory is quite happy at 176 speed. If anything you would want to be slower so that Pokemon such as Metagross can't Earthquake you when you Roost. Certainly not worth investing any EV's, unless you're running a Taunt set.

From the least to the max speed Skarmory can get...

239 - 252 Breloom, Skarmory, Metagross (70)
236 - +nature/252 Rampardos (58 )
236 - no-speed Zapdos, Celebi, Jirachi, Manaphy, Shaymin, Miltank (100)
226 - no-speed Gliscor, Leafeon, Uxie (95)
223 - One DD hits 334 (outspeeds all base 100s, Garchomp, and 252-speed base 115s), BulkyGyara
221 - 252 Tyranitar (61)
216 - no-speed Moltres, Lucario (90)
215 - 252 Rampardos (58 )
207 - +nature/252 Marowak (45)
206 - no-speed Heracross, Suicune (85)
202 - Two DDs (or one Rock Polish/Agility) hits 404 speed (outspeeds CS Heracross)
198 - no-speed Gyarados, Milotic (81)
198 - Two DDs (or one Rock Polish/Agility) hits 396 speed (outspeeds +nature/252 base 130s)
196 - no-speed Mamoswine, Gardevoir, Dragonite (80)
190 - no-speed Heatran (77)
189 - 252 Marowak (45)
176 - no-speed Skarmory, Breloom, Metagross, Cloyster, Ludicolo (70)

You're better working in HP, Attack and Defense.

meaning that good IV could potentially lead to 31 points higher in a particular stat than say that same pokemon with 0 IVs.
Actually, with a positive nature, the difference between 0 and 31 IVs can span up to 35 stat points, such as with Jolly Garchomp and Modest Empoleon.

Humm very simple/dumb question... Is Scope Lens a hax item?

EDIT: Well, what I'm thinking is, it's not like King's rock, that makes an unflinchable move flinchable. All attacks can Critical Hit, so raising the odds for this to happen is considered in "no Hax items" rule?

Technically, Scope Lens is considered a hax item, because it alters the percentage chance that a certain event will occur, even though such a chance exists even without the item.

To pal park something from Saphire, do you have to beat the game? I want to try to get a good Jirachi from my Colosseum bonus disk, but I don't feel like beating the game over and over lol... and since you can't really check the IVs in Saph w/o leveling it up I'd be kind of screwed...

I doubt you'd need to beat Sapphire to use Pal Park. Just need a National Dex, and you can get that as soon as you get the Regular Dex. Just get the Regular Pokedex, then trade in a FR/LG Poke or a Hoenn Poke that isn't part of the Hoenn Dex and you're ready to go.

x2? Daym. Can that be initial (i.e. Send it out with no Item and 204 Speed to hit 408 off the bat) or do you need to first have an Item such as a berry?

How much % does Scope Lens bring up? Also, Why do people complain about Hax Items? My friends use nothing but Quick Claw, Scope Lens(didn't see much of a difference) and such, but I still beat them everytime. I just lol @ the Swampert that attacked first and killed my Sceptile that was using Sub to Endeavor + Blade it. He won btw.

Needs to have an item first.

Unburden
[SHORT DESC]
Speed increases when its item is used or lost.
[LONG DESC]
When this Pokemon uses its item, such as a Berry, or loses its item due to something like Knock Off, its Speed doubles. This does not apply if this Pokemon has no item to begin with. The boost is lost when this Pokemon switches out.

Does anyone have a good jolly (will consider adamant) Rock Head Aero with pursuit and double edge?

Has to be legit and have good ivs, of course.

Scope Lens raises the critical hit ratio by 1 level, which varies in boosting power. Anyways:
level 1: 6.25%
level 2: 12.5%
level 3: 25%
level 4: 33.3%
level 5: 50%
Normal attacks have level 1 base CH ratio, while high crit moves such as Stone Edge start out at level 2. And the reason why many people frown on hax items is that they consider it as forcing luck.
