@Toon

Most likely it's set by your DS clock, not your opponents. I'm not sure you DS even detects what time the other persons DS is on when it links up with them for Wi-Fi or not, and even if it did it's more likely to be decided by your DS' time than theirs (Just think about Time Zones, it wouldn't be really fair to people in like Australia to constantly have their Shaymin-S reverting because of their location). I however do not have absolute proof of this.

thanks

@Kitsteel, you're probably looking for the creative moveset thread. However, your Rotom-W does seem to have some issues (primarily in the spread. You want the EVs to focus on HP, not defenses with a Pokemon with Low hp. This maximizes bulk. I can understand if this is counter-intuitive, but just trust me it's right.)

anyway, pretty sure that's what you're looking for.

Jimera's right about all of this. You can think of it like you're dividing by both your HP and SpDef when you take a hit. Having both numbers close together maximizes the denominator, which minimizes the damage (like 3x3=9 but 2x4=8).

With that set, I'm not sure how it works much better than the bulky set already on the site. Discharge is mentioned as a possible alternative Electric STAB and I'm not really sure what Shadow Ball helps with besides Celebi and Lati@s, as a STAB Hydro Pump with hit harder than a SE Shadow Ball.

The more I read about Scizor and Ferrothorn, the more I'm tempted to throw a Magnezone on my team solely to deal with them. However, as mentioned earlier I can't reliably get Hidden Power moves on my pokemon, so HP Fire is probably a no go. Would Magnezone even be worth it without that move?

Of course it would. Magnezone has other options to deal with these Pokemon than just HP Fire. Really I never understood why so many people run it in the first place; sure it lets you kill the Steels you're trapping faster but I can hardly think of any Pokemon that Magnezone can trap and kill with HP Fire that it can't without. I suppose it must have some benefits, but you don't need it to use Magnezone successfully.

Still though, there are many other methods to deal with Ferrothorn and Scizor than just Magnezone, so don't feel obligated to run one just for them. Magnezone is usually more used when getting rid of Steels is absolutely instrumental, like when you have Pokemon that will die if you don't or something. Basically, unless the Pokemon Magnezone can trap are difficult for you to eliminate otherwise, you could probably have something more useful in that teamslot. It's up to you to figure it out though.

@Wobbanaut

To find your past logs, just go to the folder PO is saved in and there should be a folder in there for it. You can also change the folder that the logs will save to by going onto a server on PO and clicking "Battle Options" then "Change logs folder" and then moving it somewhere you find more accessible. However, note that your old logs won't automatically transfer over to this new location; you'll have to find the old log folder inside the PO folder in order to access those.

How do you plan on beating Ferrothorn without HP Fire? Some Scizors I can see going down without too much trouble but a lot of Ferrothorns could put up a good defense

Going through dreamworld to get a duskull or spinda (don't have a game I can transfer them from), but every time it's completely empty. Why is this, and how do I fix it? I've tried waking my guy up and putting another one to sleep, but having to wait a whole day each time makes it next to impossible to really see if it's helpful, and so far, no, not really. HALP

Just curious... how, why and when did Smogon land on Stark Mountain and Dragonspiral Tower as the names for the main discussion forum? I'd like to hear the story behind the choices.

After you go through the dream island thingamabober a few times evenutally Pokemon will stop appearing until the next day. So you can't keep trying forever until you get what you want. Now if it's staying like that multiple days in a row without anything appearing, then I don't know what the heck is going on.

Sometimes that's the case, but I've had a few runs where I put my guy to sleep, went in, and there was nothing, or I kept a guy sleeping for a day; and again, nothing.
I just want a spinda and a duskull, I don't even care if they're from DW, but nobody has given me an offer on the Wifi section. Do either of these pokes have a point requirement? I'm still not sure how that works, really...

Magnezone @ Leftovers
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 36 HP / 252 SAtk / 220 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Charge Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power Ice

This thing sets up on Ferrothorn. Ferrothorn won't break the Substitute with Power Whip, and Magnezone can alternate Substitute and Charge Beam to set up, and eventually Thunderbolt will 2HKO Ferrothorn. After that, you can probably take down another Pokemon because you have a Sub up and several Special Attack boosts. Pair this with a Spinner though, otherwise Ferrothorn can just set up several layers of entry hazards.

That set only works if Ferro lacks bulldoze. If you need a surefire Ferrothorn killer you'll have to pack hp fire, unfortunately.

Fair enough, 94.6% is good enough for me. Also, Hidden Power Fire doesn't work either if it's raining, so if you're using a rain team SubCharge + Thunder is still superior.

I was just pointing out that sub-charge Zone isn't guaranteed to beat Ferro (having tested it personally). Btw, even in the rain hp fire is a 3hko most of the time while thunder is a 6-7hko.

How do you change a thread's title?

Assuming you're talking about a topic you made yourself, you need to click the edit button in the bottom left hand portion of the Original post. Then click the "go advanced" button in the edit box and you should be able to edit the title of the topic along with everything else.

What are some good, hard counters against subcm jirachi that would ft on a stall team? I can't come up with anything :\

You want something that can break the subs, as well as take its attacks indefinitely.

Blissey can't break 252 HP Jirachi's subs, but otherwise it's the perfect counter.
Jirachi really has nothing on Skarmory, who can phaze away Jirachi.
Chansey is basically Blissey without Leftovers.
Snorlax can break the subs easily with Earthquake, but it can't really do much in OU nowadays.
Other than that, countering Sub-CM Jirachi is pretty tricky, because of Hidden Power and its wide movepool.

Why would you reccomend this if it can't break its subs >(

wtf are you talking about, Thunderbolt/Thunder is the 3rd slash with no replacements on both CM sets
Chansey is basically Blissey without Leftovers.
Same reason as Blissey

I'm sorry, but tbh these are terrible suggestions. Sure there are hidden powers and variations in movesets, but there is definitely something out there that counters it cold.

SpD Quagsire makes a good check to SubCM Jirachi due to Unaware and it being immune to Thunder. Quagsire can also break subs with its STAB Earthquake.

Bulldoze Ferrothorn is a solid counter as well, it can break the sub (though you'll need some Atk EVs) while taking pitiful damage from its stabs and thunder.

Specially defensive TTar can counter Jirachi as well if it lacks flash cannon. I believe that Gastrodon with EQ can "check" it, though +1 psyshock is gonna hurt.

1a. Is there some place I can check how often different OU pokemon are used?
1b. If not, can you guys tell me who the six most common OU pokemon are?

2a. How much does Tyranitar's SpDef get boosted by sandstorm?
2b. Do Ground and Steel types also get the SpDef boost?

3. Why does Tyranitar get a free SpDef boost when it already has everything else going for it :(

2a. Tyranitar's SpDef is increased by 50%.
2b. No, they don't.
3. Ask Gamefreak, they do a lot of things that don't make sense.
