the three moves are illegal together, you cant have spikes and sleep powder together
REALLY!? Argh! I wasted two hours doing this. :C But thanks anyways. Another question. Say I have one pokemon with a nature like calm lets say. And I want the baby to be calm natured. How do I do that?

Actually, either parent can hold an Everstone; it was only the mother before HG/SS. If you're playing on a game before HG/SS, then yes, you'd need to put the Everstone on the female parent.

celebi

Hi, I am near to completing my pokemon black national dex and need a celebi amongst a few others. I have heard it can be transfered from a pokemon ranger game.is this true and how do I go about this? Thanks

Can someone explain how you calculate the base power for Beat Up used by an Ambipom with Technician and with all 6 teammates healthy?

My initial impression is:

(100/10) + 5 = 15 per hit, counted as a separate attack. 15*1.5 = 22.5

22.5*6 = 135BP, which seems pretty unlikely. Is this right?

BTW, I know the move is pretty unreliable due to losing hits when you lose pokes, but I am just curious.

Can anyone help please?

Does anyone know if the gems (like Flying Gem) are able to regenerate, sort of like how you can trick a scarf in game, and yet still have the scarf at the end of the battle? Or do i lose the gem permanently, like a Sitrus Berry just gets eaten?

If it's the latter, where's a good place to stock up on Flying Gems, as i don't have access to hacking devices of any sort, and trading 999 times to get 999 gems seems very impractical? I know i can just run around in dust clouds, but is there a better way?

They are consumed so you can only use them once. However if you play over wi-fi they will be restored after the end of the battle.

Yes this seems to be the case.

I tried working it out and got to the same conclusion, I then tested it and my ambipom (jolly max attack) did 72HP to a terrakion with beat up. Ambipom using a 135BP dark move does 67-79 HP, which means that there is a strong possibility you are correct.

Weavile reaches around 153 base power (after STAB) with his beat up, so I think you're right.

What is the purpose of the 4 Speed EVs in the Chansey analysis?

It's probably for out speeding other Chanseys that don't run the 4 speed. (although, if you ask me, putting that in the analysis is kind of contradictory since it makes it standard, but w/e)

How viable is Gliscor running a set of Acrobatics, Swords Dance, Substitute and Earthquake? With Poison Heal and Toxic Orb, I mean?

I know the analysis calls for Flying Gem and Sand Veil, with 252Atk/4Def/252 Speed, but since Flying Gem only works once and I dont run Sandstorm, is it viable to use the poison heal strategy instead? And would I need to change the EV spread?

Well, first off, you won't get any boost for Acrobatics because you will never lose your item if you're running Toxic Orb. However I ran the standard NinjaScor set with Poison Heal over Sand Veil for two reasons:
I can normally win the weather war.
It's easy to see predicted Toxic from an opponent.

So, no running the NinjaScor set with Toxic Orb and Poison Heal isn't a good idea. But running NinjaScor with Poison Heal and Flying Gem isn't a terrible idea.

Whoops, didn't think about the Acrobatics problem there. thanks Matthew. But I have to ask...is it possible to include Fling? I don't know exactly what I would drop, but it would be nice to poison something, and have more reliable healing.

This is kind of an opinion question, so multiple people could answer if they would like...
Would you find it wierd only using Unova Pokemon on a competitive team? (OU)

You could use it over substitute, but i actually don't think that this is a good idea.
The Flying Gem is vital to Gliscors SubSD set because you need the boost to get some vital OHKOs.

@Grade: using only Unova Pokemon is possible, but it simply isn't competitive because you limit yourself unecessarily

Alright, i'll just stick to the standard NinjaScor set, but with Poison Heal. Thanks BurningMan and Matthew.

Grade, i'll post my answer since you asked for more than one. Right now, i'd say it's viable, as there are many pokemon capable of forming a decent team solely from Unova. Off the top of my head, Conkeldurr, Reuniclus, Landorus, Terrakion and i'm sure there are many others i'm missing. The only problem i see is that you lack some key pokemon, like TTar for Sand Stream support, and Bronzong/Azelf for Dual Screens (or in Zong's case, Trick Room, though Reuniclus can fill that slot). So i'd say, like BurningMan, it's viable, but not exactly recommended.

Still, people win each day with only NFEs and NUs, so don't let me stop you.
