Agreeing with Cybertron about Stall normally failing in VGC. Goodstuff TR and Tailwind are all very good though and are the main strategies that are going on right now.

Also, Cybertron, go on Pokemon Online already kthnxbai

Agreeing with Human here, but I haven't Tailwind used much at all, and with little success. If they TW while you TR, they're screwed.

Also Cybertron your excuse about "I'm waiting til English games" is BS because we have PO. Come battle kthnxbai

Is Sunny Day any good this year in VGC? I know Rain Dance took itself 10 notches down from 09/10, but Sunny Day still seems good, due to actually have Pokemon with Chlorophyll and Shandera/Chandelure.

I'll probably run a TR team regardless, but...

I've seen erufuun plus scarf shandera, but not anything else. More might be viable, but a different combo hasn't become common knowledge yet.

I have a small question. I am going to my first VGC this year(Seattle), and was wondering how would I get noticed by alot of people. Would I need to use some strange team that nobody would think of(E.G-Lanturn Discharge team from last year)?

Also, I'm kind of confused on how the whole lining up works for the divisions. Do people just form a line for their age division whenever they feel like it?

There's likely going to be a picture thread like last year as it gets closer, and you can always see the faces from the year before. I'll edit a link in, as it's no longer stickied.

As for the line: you get there at time xyz, the line starts to form, you go in at whatever time registration opened.

Just focus on placing. Nobody really notices teams from top 32 and below no matter how creative they are.

Has the Japanese VGC dates been released? From the websites I have been checking, I haven't seen anything, but you never know, I could have missed them.

Also, are there any good Japanese videos of high profile players playing the new characters?

What are some good Pokemon that could be put onto a "GoodStuff" team?
Basically any pokemon that doesn't rely on Trick Room can work well in good stuffs. Actually, some pokemon that work in TR, (Shandy, Burungeru, Roobushin) can work realy well in a goodstuffs team. However, if you want a list, than click below:

Shandera
Burungeru
Roobushin
Sazandora
Kojondo
Erufuun (1 man anti-TR)
Landlos
Daikenki
Waruvial
Hihidaruma
Arkaeosu
Zoroark
Baibanira (don't laugh, works really well)
Ononokusu
Kojondo
Kirikizan (Sucker Punch from 129 base attack is insane)
Sazandora
Urugamosu
Terakion
Virizion
Tornelos
Voltlos
And most likely several pokemon that I overlooked.

I'm not an expert by any means, but flame orb roob sounds good to catch crap like terra, sazandora, and scrafty that might give you trouble.

The clarity on eligible Pokemon for this years competition has been thrown this way and that. So just to clear my mind and so I don't spend any unnecessary time planning ahead- is it truly restricted to Unova only (meaning ONLY all brand new pokes) or will it be Unova's dex before the unlocking of National (meaning new dudes + the mix of oldies they throw in just like every previous game)?

Pure flying carries flight jewel plus acrobatics 90% of the time. Ironically, contrary to singles, the pure flying is getting the most usage (at least in my experiences).

We might not, seeing as the white boxes are gone. But maybe they can fix it so the DS can communicate with a screen somehow? Seems like a big load on your poor DS. :(
