To clarify things a bit more, anyone can play on the ladder and participate on the test, yes. However, only those who given voting power, which is gotten from using the suspects/fighting against them enough (thus, in other words, as long as you've been actively battling on the Suspect ladder, you're likely to get the right to vote), can decide on what happens. This definitely isn't the correct place for this question. Anyways I'm pretty sure the suspect ladder can be played by anybody, however only those given voting power can actually decide on what pokemon remain in OU and what gets banned or re-banned to ubers. The pokemon in the last testing phase were Manaphy, Garchomp, and Latias. Latias and Manaphy were voted OU while Garchomp was voted Ubers. However Manaphy remained in OU for only a few days and was moved back up to ubers as well where it currently resides.
Okay so that puts another three weeks or so till sign ups. Another question- How effective do you think tutoring is to learning the game and getting better? After getting tutored do you notice any improvement or boost in skill? I think it would be interesting to know before I sign up.
A general question not meant to downplay any of the efforts of the Tutoring staff.
If a new member shows up and knows nothing about Pokemon, where are they supposed to make their 15 posts? It seems like any member looking to be tutored wouldn't know enough about competitive Pokemon to make constructive posts...
Potential tutees need to show their activity in some way. There are social forums to post in, as you know. We do make rare exceptions to the requirement, but we want all the tutees to be active, as it is very annoying (for the staff and the tutors) to have a lot of inactive tutees.
Also if he knows absolutely nothing about Pokemon the first thing a tutor would do (usually) is send him to read some articles on Pokemon that we assembled (I mean if he doesn't know the type chart....) so after the friend familiarized himself with some Pokemon I'm sure he could make a few posts.
Zone C as well, infact there's only 9 total tutors outside of zone A.Completely ignore my question, just found out that I'm not getting tutored due to lack of tutors in Zone B.
I hate to say it, but the world doesn't revolve around you. We do this on a volunteer basis in our free time -- I'm so sorry that not enough tutors are available in a time slot that satisfies you.
Even though there aren't many tutors in the time zone that works the best for you, it doesn't mean you can't get tutored. If you keep waiting in Zone B, you'll get a tutor when it's your turn in the queue. Alternatively, if you make space in your schedule during the activity times for Zone A or C on a semi-regular basis, chances are you'll be able to work out something with your tutor.
Your posts have to be on ten different days. You would be fine. But if someone had just joined smogon and they posted 15 times in their first day they would not make it in.So just to make this super clear, if you just have a post count of 15 or higher, you'll be tutored?
