Best Pixar Films

With Up opening the Cannes Film Festival (and with Toy Story 3 coming next year), I felt it was appropriate to ask everyone to make lists on what their favourite Pixar movies are.

In case you've forgotten any of them, here they are, in order:

Toy Story (1995)
A Bug's Life (1998)
Toy Story 2 (1999)
Monsters, Inc. (2001)
Finding Nemo (2003)
The Incredibles (2004)
Cars (2006)
Ratatouille (2007)
WALL-E (2008)

My personal list:

1. The Incredibles
My love for Team Fortress 2 has probably stemmed from this movie. Seeing both in action would probably make you think they are the same thing.

2. Ratatouille
3. WALL-E
4. Finding Nemo
5. Toy Story
6. Toy Story 2
7. Monsters, Inc.
8. A Bug's Life
9. Cars

It is pretty hard to do this because they are all so damn good. I cant think of anything that has been so consistant with making amazing movies.

But I think my favourite is either Finding Nemo or Ratatouille.

Cars is the only weak one I have seen, but I have never seen a bugs life (nor the incredibles).

Have a nice day.

If making a list, remember to give a reason for at least your #1 pick.

I've only see 5 of the Pixar movies so that's what I'll rank.

1. Toy Story
This was the first movie I owned on VHS I think =) My brother got Lion King and I got this. Was an absolutely magical experience the first time I saw it. I have no idea how it holds up to my nostalgic memory of it, but I'll find out soon... I think they're remaking it in 3D for theatres before Toy Story 3 comes out?

2. Finding Nemo
3. Wall-E
4. A Bug's Life
5. Toy Story 2

I really didn't like Toy Story 2 at all. I hear it's regarded one of the best animated movies ever and better than Toy Story but I just don't see it.

Personally I thought Cars was the best one there. I never really liked Finding Nemo or Ratatouille. I lived with younger siblings 4 - 5 and I loved cars, I liked all the characters and personally I found the jokes funny.

I hate real life cars though.

I skipped the most recent ones (WALL-E, Cars, Ratatouille) because damn all of them looked unpromising (except wall-e, but i intended to see that one). However, Pixar is amazingly consistent. From those i DID saw, I'd say the weakest was Bug's Life and not by much (the portuguese voice actors had annoying as hell voices, that might be one of the reasons i disliked it. hopper was totally badass though) and my favorite is Toy Story 1/2. Both. I honestly can't decide. I can't wait for Toy Story 3 next year and I hope it lives up to expectations!

First off, lemme say that Pixar is AMAZING. I've watched all of their films so far (have most on DVD too), and I've never felt any of them were let downs in any way.

For me, the best Pixar film ever was WALL-E. Sure, it wasn't the funniest film, nor the most exciting, but it was simultaneously charming, brilliant and inspiring, it really made an impact on me. The ending scene was one of the most touching sequences I had ever seen in a film.

I tell you, the Pixar employees really are masters of their craft. I still remember fuming when the Academy denied it a nomination of Best Picture, when it CLEARLY was the best movie of the year (or maybe even all time).

I doubt that I could enjoy Up more than I enjoyed WALL.E. But I'll see. I mean, I'm definetly going to watch it. :)

I would say of all the Pixar movies, Finding Nemo left the biggest impression on me. I was laughing throughout the whole thing, the underwater environments were gorgeous, and the entire cast was memorable(then again, it's kind of hard to forget stoner turtles and sharks in a self-help group)

Really though, all their films are wonderful, though I've yet to see Cars or Ratatouille.

1. Toy Story 1 or 2

One of the best films i have seen ever. I loved the story and how all the toys were alive, how they did all those amazing things with the little things of the room was impressive.

Next Bug's life, just because i liked the blue ant lol

Ratatouille was my favorite, although I am biased given that I absolutely adore rats. I saw WALL-E a few weeks ago for the first time and it was amazing as well, even though it was creepy at parts (I mean, seriously, the whole date was...).

Toy Story was my favorite. I was 4 years old when it came out and loved it. I got the video game, Burger King toys and some other stuff.

Cars was terrible, in my opinion; there was something about Toy Story that never lost its luster, even in this day and age.

I love WALL-E, too, though. That was just amazing on Pixar's part; it felt like I was reading a book almost. The first movie with a glaringly obvious theme that a huge audience could actually get. Fantastic.

I've loved all that I've watched, but so far Finding Nemo and the Incredibles have been my favorites.

Gordon Goodwin did the theme song for the Incredible!

Toy Story is the only one I love, but Finding Nemo was cute and Monsters, Inc. was a nice idea, just a bit too kiddy for my tastes. I pretty much hate the rest (Toy Story 2 is tolerable though).

I've saw all the Pixar movies at one point and personally, I can never really say that I thought one of them was "bad". The only one I hated was cars and I still can't tell why today. It just felt "meh". It wasn't all that funny and I didn't give much care about the characters (even if they did "fleshed out" the characters).

My favorite one would be "The Incredibles". Funny and action packed. My only nitpick about the movie was the reason Buddy became a badguy. I thought it was ridiculous.

Me and my friends have this conversation all the time, and we're pretty divided on the issue.

1. Toy Story - Completely changed the game in animation, and set the stage for the changing of the guards from Disney to Pixar (even though Disney distributes for Pixar). All-star cast, multi-generational concept, kid and adult friendly humor, and just all out incredible animation.

2. Finding Nemo - Easily one of the most complex and dark story lines that Pixar has taken on (people will try to argue that Wall-E is darker than Nemo, but all Wall-E did was take on the doom and gloom media frenzy surrounding global warming, pollution, and obesity and animate it. If I want to watch the news, I'll watch the news). Easily the best animation done to date for Pixar, incredible voice talents, and TONS of researching done prior to animation.

3. The Incredibles
4. Ratatouille
5. Toy Story 2

I disliked Wall-E (obviously), and I'm excited for Up because it's a step in a different direction for Pixar getting away from seemingly inanimate characters.

well for me its these:

1. Finding Nemo
2. Wall-E
3. The Incredibles
4. Cars
5. Toy Story

I can watch pixar movies over and over I love these movies

Toy Story is fairly nostalgic movie. It made me almost cry when I saw it again, after a break of like what, 10 years? But Wall-E was absolutely great. I loved the first half where there was barely any speech. That's something that hasn't been in Pixar movies before.

Bug's Life, Finding Nemo and Cars are my top 3
Nostalgia etc for Bug's Life, the other two are just really well done imo

Wall-E was a pretty good movie. And Bolt(dunno if its pixar or not) pretty sad at the end but it was still good.
