Necturna simply does not strike me as a Pokemon that evolved. I put its design and concept in the same class as Skarmory, Absol, Spiritomb, Sigilyph, and so on, badass enough on its own.

Besides, didn't we decide that Sketch would be an event move? If that's the case, then a theoretical pre-evo wouldn't serve any purpose because it wouldn't be able to teach us anything about the game, certainly not what Necturna was designed to teach us.

Necturna really doesn't strike me as an evolving Pokemon. I feel that it is an excellent standalone Pokemon and doesn't need the assistance of a pre-evo to perpetuate its flavor. Furthermore, it will cement the similarities between Necturna and Lilligant in my mind. But that last bit is probably just me being overly dramatic, heh.

This Pokemon is very similar to Jellicent, Chandelure, and Cofagrigus who both have one pre-evolution. It would be cool if this Pokemon were consistent with that trend.
