CAP 8 CAP 8 - Final Product

You know, most evolution lines don't look so similar upon evolution.
Those look nearly the same besdies the head/leg count.
You could say the same for Dratini > Dragonair....But I'll make some edits

Both of these ideas were proposed by CyberZero...

The design makes me think the think should be smaller than the average human so I say Height 5'3'' and Weight.... Well it's a cloud, doesn't matter how defensive it is the weight doesn't really have much to do with stats. I don't see any 340 lbs Vappy's walking around do I? Well no, wait, I just went to a convention in Boston so I might have actually seen that somewhere *shudders*. 50-65 lbs. Anyone using Low Kick or Grass Knot on this guy is retarded anyways so this is purely flavor.

Two prevos. simply because it's currently the dragon standard.

Despite the art poll that left a bitter taste, I have to say I rather like how Cyclohm turned out. It'll be interesting to see if people play this Pokemon defensively or try to go on the offense with it.

This thing could work at any size really. Most of the CAPs we've made, I've visualized no bigger than the in-game trainer, but Cyclohm seems to work anywhere from as large as a rhino to the size of big dog. Grass Knot isn't a big issue here, so I think we could probably err on the side of heavy; it certainly looks sturdy and immovable.

If we need names for these prevos, then I suggest Frolt -> Trowatt -> Cyclohm, cutting out the first one if we only have 1 prevo. Frolt = Front + volt, and Trowatt = Trowal + watt. Front and Trowal are stages in cyclogenesis, and volt and watt are SI units that tend to relate to electricity. It seems to fit the theme of the name cyclohm.

If we don't need names for the prevos, then I'm sorry to have wasted your time.

Well, this has been an interesting CAP up to this point. I appreciate the work from our intrepid TL, Cyberzero -- there were several curveballs thrown at you along the way. I'm also glad we had a good ATL, Cyzirvisheen, available there in a pinch. All in all, I'd say you guys did a fine job with one of the most difficult CAP projects to date.

I'll start coding Cyclohm into the CAP server. Cyberzero, when you decide on a height and weight, just edit it into the OP of this thread. I'll get the Playtesting ladder setup for us to play Cyclohm in isolation against standard OU. Dedicated playtesting will last for two weeks. I'll post more details on this when everything is ready to go.

Also, I'm looking for a volunteer to head up the writing of the Cyclohm Strategy Analysis. We took WAY too long to get Kitsunoh's analysis completed, and I don't want to duplicate that mistake again. Post in this thread if you are interested in working on Cyclohm's writeup. Inexperienced CAP members need not apply.

This CAP has motivated at least two upcoming PR threads from me; you should see those soon hopefully. Many of you on the server and #cap IRC have heard me ranting over the past few weeks, so you probably won't be surprised.

Thanks to all the submitters, posters, and voters that participated through the forum portion of Cyclohm's creation. Now get on the server and get ready for the hands-on portion of Create-A-Pokemon!

Don't know if anyone cares about this guy anymore, but this is what I've done!

I don't see this thing evolving from that. maybe I'll sketch something up tonight just for fun.

DougJustDoug: I think I might be a little underqualiftied experience wise, but I would be very interested in working on the analysis.

Wow, it's here:)
2pre-evos
Weight:200lbs
Height:6'1
Great work everyone, especially Cyzir and Cyber.

On the first, and possibly on the second, I think maybe you can try making it a bit... "Sweeter"? A bit less pissed off... First stages on three-stage evolution likes are often "cuter".... (Though not always). From memory, at least...

I'm saying only one-pre-evo, about 6', and around 140 lbs.

The pre-evolution should only have one small head coming out of a very thick fog, being just Electric typed.

Okay, I appoint Magmortified to head the analysis. If you want to help, talk to him. You can start once Cyclohm is coded into the server; don't theorymon anything!

About that, Doug... I was wondering... could we leave the CAP ladder alone this time and instead just make a new ladder and title it something like "Cyclohm" or "Playtesting"? I believe I speak for a lot of people that although CaP testing is important, we should be able to use the "normal" CAP ladder in the meantime.

I can't really draw worth beans - for you folks doing the preevo ideas, what about this idea:

Stage 1 - a lizard, quadrupedal. No clouds. Body is a lightning bolt.
Stage 2 - bigger, two heads. Dark clouds forming at and around its belly.

First off: Well done, cyber! I think the project turned out really well, despite the somewhat weak initial concept.

Number of pre-evos: 1. Looking at its movepool, I get the idea that it evolves at about level 30 and starts learning some REAL attacking moves. Furthermore, all other Pokemon with a triple as part of their concept (Dodrio, Magneton, Dugtrio) all have one pre-evo. Why break the tradition?

Height: 5' 02". Clouds are poofy and big, but I can't see this as being really imposing enough of have a gigantic size. Somewhere around the player's height or slightly taller would be great. Yes, it's taller than Salamence... but not by THAT much.

Weight: 143 lbs. Clouds aren't really heavy material. But being a defensive Pokemon, Cyclohm'll certainly need some degree of weight to support its physical bulk. I think about 65kg (143 lbs) is good.

Summary:
1 Pre-evo
5' 02" in height
143 lbs in weight

I haven't posted anything for CAP8 this time. Besides the fact that we seem to be giving Weather Ball to _everything_, great job by everyone involved!
