Gogoat (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sap Sipper
EVs: 252 HP / 160 SDef / 96 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Bulk Up
- Earthquake
- Milk Drink
- Horn Leech

Nope, i'm not crazy. Nope, this isn't Gimmick. Or well, this is Gimmick but nope at the same time! This mon is absolutely OP. With 450 HP Points (A Goat-Blissey) around 300 Spdef this monster is able to do 6-0 just clicking obvious moves! His special bulkyness is amazing, and he can tank a Fire Blast from Max Spatk Heatran. The only problem is Physical Defense. So why not Bulk Up? Bulk Up with a 75 Draining stab, access to a Recovery Move and also a Coverage Move like Earthquake to hit Heatran. Also a wonderful switch in on Ferrothorn and Mega Sceptile since Sap Sipper Lemme show some calc and some replay!

♥252 SpA Heatran Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 160+ SpD Gogoat: 326-386 (72.4 - 85.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
♥252 SpA Life Orb Latios Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 160+ SpD Gogoat: 251-296 (55.7 - 65.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
♥252+ SpA Pixilate Mega Altaria Hyper Voice vs. 252 HP / 160+ SpD Gogoat: 169-199 (37.5 - 44.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
♥252 SpA Mega Sceptile Dragon Pulse vs. 252 HP / 160+ SpD Gogoat: 136-162 (30.2 - 36%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
♥252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Landorus Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 160+ SpD Gogoat: 183-217 (40.6 - 48.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

♥252 Atk Mega Lopunny Return vs. +1 252 HP / 0 Def Gogoat: 169-201 (37.5 - 44.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

GOAT REKT!
I'm not gonna comment on the set, but can you please change the formatting? The lime green everything is REALLY annoying. Like, REALLY. REALLY. ANNOYING. If you're gonna use it here or there, like that last line, for example, that's ok, but not for the whole post please. I can't even bring myself to read it all, it's just that bright.

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 148 Def / 108 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic / Giga Drain
- Stealth Rock
- Baton Pass
- Healing Wish

This set is a nice support for rain team and a good replacement for Ferrothorn. Celebi is all about momentum due to Baton Pass that give you a free switch, or Healing Wish which can be crucial in late-game to restore at full health one of your sweeper so you can pull off the last sweep.

Stealth Rock is crucial to any team, specially rain team because they don't have many pokemon who learned it bar M-Swampert, Kabutops, Seismitoad and so allow to free a slot for coverage.
Psychic or Giga Drain is up to you, I personnaly prefer Psychic because you can hit hard fighting pokemon, and most of time water pokemon will switch out.

108 ev in speed is used to outspeed jolly Bisharp, the rest goes in bulk. You can tweak the ev if you wish to outspeed or take hit from some pokemon.

Lopunny (F) @ Assault Vest
Trait: Klutz
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Return
- Switcheroo
- Healing Wish
- Magic Coat

I used this since BW to troll a lot of pokèmons like Custap Skarmory Lead. Well, in ORAS this set is pretty unexpected because when you see Lopunny + another possible mega (Like Tyranitar, Gyarados, Scizor) the first thing you think is that Lopunny is Mega. And so the first thing you send on Lopunny is Slowbro, Landorus-T (if Bulky), Skarmory, Rotom-W, Celebi and other bulky mons that can stall/kill you using status and recovery moves. Well, this punny set ridiculizes them: Slowbro can't spam toxic/twave or slack off, Skarmory becomes useless without Roost/Defog/Spikes/WWind, Rotom-W Can't burn or split and loses its lefties, Celebi can't set SR/Bpass/Recover/Nplot.... Magic Coat is to set on the oppo's field hazardz and to burn Mega Sableye with its self WoW and the Icing on the cake is Healing Wish, when your punny is useless and you need to heal one of your mons! Enjoy! (Today is my birthday too ^_^) :D

Wow. Just wow. Clearly a total gimmick, but it's basically guaranteed to cripple any wall or whatever. Also, if you could catch it some how, it can totally cripple gliscor and then cripple something else w/ toxic orb. I'm so glad I've never actually seen this set. Basically the epitome of annoying.

Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 248 HP/ 252 Def /8 Spe OR 248 HP / 168 Def / 92 Spe
Impish Nature
- Dragon Tail
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Rest

You all know the bulky helm chomp, a set that has been gaining a lot of popularity lately. As offensive teams do not always have a strong defensive backbone, Garchomp (or a Lando-T) can get worn down pretty easily.

Since my team already had SR and didn't really need Fire Blast, I looked through the movepool and Rest was the only move that seemed useful. In practice, Rest makes Garchomp a switchin to Rotom-W (and maybe stallbreaker Tflame I guess), not fearing a burn and being able to wear it down with Toxic and the best it can do is:

0 SpA Rotom-W Hydro Pump vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Garchomp: 142-168 (33.8 - 40%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

With Rest, you can switch into weak Scalds on stall, get off a Toxic and just heal off. Usually Mega Lop can just 3HKO you and be left with ~40% but being able to heal can either force it out or get a 1 for 1 trade.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-220531615

Only 1 good replay so far but Rest puts in a lot of work vs this stall, statusing mons and easily switching into Scalds from Gastrodon.

Sleep talk could be nice for phasing w/o negative priority, similar to marvel scale dragonaire in NU. I seriously dig the set tho, since chomps tendency to be worn down has really been my only hesitation towards using bulky chomp. Unfortunately, that would mean giving up either toxic (kinda the point of the set) or eq, which is obviously not awesome.

Pidgeot-Mega @ Pidgeotite
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hyper Beam
- Hurricane
- Heat Wave
- U-turn

If you haven't noticed by now, I am a big advocate for dank sets on dank pkmn. This set incorporates the use of the dank move Hyper Meme Beam. A meme as hyper as this one allows Mega Pidgeot to plow through Pokemon that would otherwise check Pidgeot rather easily. With Hyper Beam, Pidgeot can meme its way right through Thundurus, Raikou, and basically anything else that just doesn't take enough damage from Hurricane in one turn.

Quagsire @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware / Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Waterfall
- Curse
- Amnesia
- Recover

Double boosting Quagsire can tear through offense really easily. The only major annoyance is Scald, so have a cleric. Quagsire can set up an Amnesia on any number of physical Pokemon and proceed to survive against basically any special attack that isn't Grass type.
252 SpA Choice Specs Keldeo Hydro Pump vs. +2 252 HP / 4 SpD Quagsire: 190-225 (48.2 - 57.1%) -- 44.1% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Life Orb Latios Draco Meteor vs. +2 252 HP / 4 SpD Quagsire: 196-231 (49.7 - 58.6%) -- 71.9% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Landorus Earth Power vs. +2 252 HP / 4 SpD Quagsire: 161-191 (40.8 - 48.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Then you go to town with Curse. If you can avoid status offense is basically incapable of beating you outside a crit. An INTERESTING idea would be to use Water Absorb instead of Unaware, as this would allow you to avoid Scald burns and naturally set up on Keldeo as well as better take on some physical attackers like Gyarados, Feraligatr, etc. However this also lessens the set's usefulness against balance (it's straight up garbdix against stall but Quagsire is always dead against opposing stall).

Here are two STour replays against TDK and blarajan showing how this set basically demolishes lots of offensive builds (TDK haxed me but you can tell from the team he was goin down).

Hate to be that guy, but Hyper Beam is actually kind of standard on Mega Pidgeot. It's even the first slash on the analysis.

Celestia (Audino) (F) @ Audinite
Ability: Regenerator
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Dazzling Gleam
- Wish
- Protect
- Toxic/Heal Bell

Absolutely Underrated. How many times i tried to find a good reason to use this mon.... finally, with Giratina-O suspect, Audino can enter the scene! Its amazing typing (shared only with lolWigglytuff) can totally wall Giratina-O! Immune to Outrage, Shadow Ball, Shadow Sneak, Shadow Force, Draco Meteor, Dragon Tail, can Heal Will-O-Wisp using Heal Bell. With its wonderful 103 HP + 126 Def. and Special Def. and the wish support, Audino can be very annoying and can wall whole teams, giving a great immunity to Dragon Pokèmons. Let me show some calc ♥

Chesnaught @ Salac Berry
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 12 HP / 252 Atk / 244 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Substitute
- Belly Drum
- Drain Punch
- Seed Bomb
I stole this set from someone and I can't find the forum again (looked for it yesterday) and I'm sorry if someone has already submitted this. But basically, what this set does is sweep teams, no exaggeration. The speed allows you to outspeed stuff like Starmie after the Salac Berry boost and adamant really isn't required as you're going to be pumping out attacks at +6. Substitute allows you to avoid status like thunder wave which would cripple this monster and lets you soak up priority hits. Belly Drum of course raises your attack to significant levels and finally the dual STAB allows you to hit hard and in Drain Punch's case, heal back. The thing about Chesnaught is that it can set up on so many things, like lando-t, choice-locked azumarill or any type if the other player is fearing a grass attack and ferrothorn, all three quite common in the current metagame.

Just a couple replays to prove my point:
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-207937068
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-207758600
The best counter is talonflame but even it can get rekt if chesnaught is behind a sub and Alakazam with a sash, but it also get rekt if chesnaught has a sub up. Other stuff like Lat@s can wall it but after a couple of SR switch in or any prior damage, it's usually GG for both of them. And if anyone knows the team I'm using, please give me a heads up so I can reference the owner.
Holy jeezus batman those replays. Great set and actually works. Congrats

Only 1 good replay so far but Rest puts in a lot of work vs this stall, statusing mons and easily switching into Scalds from Gastrodon.
that replay was garb tbh, pointless sacrifice of Mega Sableye, spamming Scald against a Resting Garchomp, terrible play with Skarmory that led to its being too worn down to check Mega Lopunny; on top of that, if Clefable doesn't flinch and gets the kill with Flamethrower, you'dve probably lost in the end, since it'd just come in on the sleeping Garchomp, heal up, then Moonblast you to death.

Being able to force a 1 for 1 from M-lop sounds cool; personally i'd use Protect for that. Whatever, providing 100% free setup / switch-in bait sounds better. Oh yeah, being 3hitkoed by rotom-w makes you a terrible check to it ; WoW cripples you until you rest, too, so overall you're just kind of tanking a hit or 2 and then dying after you rest. RIP

Oh yeah, you can switch into weak scalds and pop off a Toxic? Look at the replay; he could've gone to chansey and cleaned off the Toxic, or gone to Skarmory and gotten a free layer of spikes.

Lol, Jesus, this is what I come back to? I'll admit the replay was a bit lackluster, but that was uncalled for.
Outside of that, the set isn't horrible, but, I've been enjoying Endure in that last slot because of how absolutely obnoxious it is, when combined with Rocky Helmet and Rough Skin, which I'm sure has been put here somewhere, if not, it should be. I don't know if -Clone- keeps up with this still or not, or if you can edit the sets in AM or what, but I do think that a variant of that Chomp set should be put in be it, rest, endure, or both. Of course, that's only if this thread is still alive and updated in a specific spot I'm not seeing.

ever since the "revamp" (for lack of a better term) that AM and i came up with, i basically just go over the sets and get an expert opinion from AM on whether or not a set is gimmicky or not, and delete it if it is. otherwise, its here to stay for everyone to see. if people want me to start updating the archive with the sets again, then i will. but given that the thread isnt flooded daily like it used to be, it hasnt seemed /that/ necessary to me. but like i said if ppl want me to start updating it again then i will.

Jirachi @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 72 Atk / whatever SpD or Spe you want
Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- Iron Head
- Ice Punch / Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave

This set is good, like, really really good. Looking for something that checks Mega Diancie, Mega Altaria, Kyurem-B, Mega Gardevoir, Clefable, Landorus all at once? This is the set for you buddy. Shuca Berry, for those who don't know, weakens opposing Ground-type attacks. 72 atk investment along with an Adamant nature allows Jirachi to OHKO Landorus-I after a round of SR with Ice Punch, effectively luring it and getting rid of it for the rest of the match. Getting rid of such a big threat is huge already, but Shuca Berry does not only help with that; it's also useful against Dragon Dance Mega Altaria, which you can live any hit even if it is at +4 and proceed to cripple it with Thunder Wave and kill it with flinching shenanigans. Also, tell to these Mega Diancies that think that they can kill you at 50% a big NO and OHKO them back with Iron Head. Everything has already been explained, you know, it's standard pivot Jirachi but with a twist on its item and moveset. This set is really effective and I encourage you guys to try it out.

Serperior @ Assault Vest
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Leaf Storm
- Mirror Coat
- Giga Drain
Was looking for something to lure in and take care of both heatran and scizor. This does that and can function as a sweeper late game. I found giga drain infinitely more useful than dragon pulse if only to regain lost hp and better utilize the boosts from leaf storm and the added bulk of assault vest. Dragons can easily be handled by the fairies or steel types. So I found this pairs up really well with something like Jirachi or Scizor that really appreciates the elimination of Heatran and can take care of the Dragons that hinder Serperior's sweeping capabilities. I'm actually surprised this isn't Serperior's go-to set.

Although I recognize the potential of running AV on Serp, Mirror Coat is useless when running AV at the same time. Also, Serp loses even more coverage from what was already limited with the loss of Dragon Pulse that ultimately dents its chances of "late-game sweeping". It'd look better if you just replaced Mirror Coat with DP.

Magic Coat is actually a special move, and can be used with assault vest or/and when taunted.

Well TIL but the coverage of Dragon Pulse should be more important on the basis of a late game sweeper. As "easy it might be to handle", you can't expect all its checks and counters to be dealt with every single match.

It's not meant to be a late game sweeper but a lure for heatran that can also sweep once it's removed assuming thats their only counter. If you want a bulky lategame sweeper replace giga drain with dragon pulse, but then u might as well use a standard glare Serperior.

Gimmick

Electric potential
I wanted to post this set so much that I made a team and found good battlers on Showdown to do so.

Slowking @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Scald
- Psyshock
- Nasty Plot
- Trick Room

I used Nasty Plot Trick Room Slowking extensively in BW OU because it handled rain expertly well and punished fast, offensive teams at literally no cost. It took a bit of a dive down in XY OU, but with the way the ORAS OU metagame is unfolding, I found that its effectiveness is definitely something to talk about. It can currently check 3 omnipresent threats--Keldeo, Landorus, and Mega Metagross--with relative ease. The beauty of the NP TR set is that it turns what would be a tank Slowking into an offensive threat that teams find themselves struggling to handle. In a way, this set is able to play 2 roles: pivot tank and sweeper/cleaner. It requires practically no support and keeps its longevity through Regenerator. When it's not sweeping under Trick Room, Slowking wears down its own checks with Scald burns (ban Scald). Another great aspect of this set is simply its surprise value. Most Slowking sets aren't very threatening offensively, so defensive Pokemon who can hardly touch Slowking tend to come in to absorb status or scout for coverage moves. That's when you can hit them with a couple Nasty Plots and then a Trick Room. I've found that while laddering, people have an "oh shit" moment whenever I click Trick Room because they expected to easily revenge kill Slowking after they sack something. And because Slowking is naturally bulky, you can feign a defensive set throughout games by using it as a pivot and spamming scald until you can sweep. The set also naturally sets up on many Pokemon who struggle to 2HKO. I chose dual STAB because Psyshock allows you to beat Calm Minders like Clefable and Scald spreads burns which rewards Slowking for being a pivot.

This replay is a good representation of its cleaning potential:

My guess is he probably didn't expect Psyshock so he got a bit greedy with the Calm Minds and his backup plan was to just go out into Thundurus after his Clefable died (if I won the setup war). I think he had an "oh shit" moment after I clicked Trick Room because he suddenly took 30 seconds to click his move.

Good example of people who don't expect Slowking to be much of a threat so they stay in with something that can barely touch it. He felt safe enough to Rapid Spin with Starmie, which is exactly what this set is good at doing.

He ended up quitting. Sorry about that. I hope the replay is still acceptable.

Here's a good calc representation of Slowking's bulk:
252 SpA Life Orb Latios Draco Meteor vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Slowking: 253-298 (64.3 - 75.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
-2 252 SpA Life Orb Latios Draco Meteor vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Slowking: 126-149 (32 - 37.9%) -- 0.8% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

The average of the first is 70.05% and the second 34.95% for a total of 105%. Factoring in Leftovers, Slowking on average will take 98.75% from 2 Life Orb Latios Draco Meteors. That's really impressive for not resisting it and having practically no SDef investment. Obviously, setting up on Latios isn't the smartest idea. The calc was just to show off natural bulk and ability to set up on stuff.

EDIT: wow okay that was an annoyingly long post. I'm sorry. I love Slowking.
