E3 2013 | RETR-oh no....

For you maybe, Not my problem, but don't try to justify it with useless garbage, which is completely baseless. You are free to like and buy any console.

If it's not your problem what he does, why are you so heated about it? Doesn't make sense.

I'll probably be getting an X1, here's why:
-Better exclusives
-Much better controller, this isn't even a question
-I don't buy used games
-I have a solid internet connection, the 24-hour check doesn't affect me in the slightest
-I like that I'll be able to say "Xbox on, watch Arrested Development, play Halo, etc."
-I enjoy watching sports so this integration is pretty damn cool
-On that note, X1 seems like it will, as a, say, living room console/device, has the potential to provide a better entertainment experience overall
-Having Skype on TV could be useful
-As far as online multiplayer is concerned, I trust Microsoft far more than anyone else
-I'm not in love with the $500 price tag but the way I see it, I will be using this console for at least seven-ish years so I will definitely get my money's worth

I already have a Wii U & between these two consoles I don't see much need for a PS4, personally.

You literally do not have any reading skills. Go back and re-read please.

It's certainly not a question, but considering the Xbone still uses batteries in the year 2014, most of us are on the other side of the fence here.

I don't know about "most of us," but I get it.

Yo, you really need to chill with the ad hominem. It's a bad habit of yours and doesn't make you look good. But so you know, I do have reading skills, and again I ask, why do you care? Why does his reasoning matter so much to you? What if he wants to get it because he likes the letter x - who the fuck are you to tell him different?

Crossed out that line because you obviously don't

Cool ur tits soul fly its not that important. This is what got you swirlied in the first place x__x

Am i as mad as you that xbone is getting a single customer? Yes. Is Korra misinformed? Very. Is there anything you can do about it? No.

Maybe I just don't get why you would even say that after trying to tell the man that his reasoning is garbage. It's like why even bother, you know? But whatever, it's your life.

Stop bashing my optimism on the wall of reality. You are mean.

@cjrocker: I don't have a problem with anyone's console choices. I think I have made that pretty clear, but when they start giving BS for that it gets me. I have a low tolerance level.
Just suck it up and say you love halo/<insert xb1 exclusive(s)>, and/or NFL too much and dgaf about MS's DRM conditions and you're done. No need for all the drama. just don't justify it with misinformed 'facts'

If Microsoft's plan is to sell us $40 games, I'll buy an Xbone when I see $40 games. He gives a Steam analogy, but I only started using Steam when I started seeing the savings. Call me skeptical, but if they had this master plan that was totally pro-consumer they might have wanted to talk about that up-front instead of only showing the hefty negatives of the system.

Announcing this during E3 would've been nice instead of making it look like they're back-pedaling due to how badly they fucked up

Highly unlikely they are holding back such a vital information, midst such backlash about their DRM.
And you guys are forgetting that Steam is exclusively Digital, while Consoles like XB1 get their primary sales from Physical copies. So hard to implement that logic there.

So there are two possible reasons:

1. The note is fake and Microsoft has no such plans. The DRM thing is just a pitch for Game publishers to snag more exclusives.

2. They are unsure if such measures will work because unlike digital downloads (for which they become the 'distributors) they cannot dictate the price of physical copies, so they are still likely in talks with Game publishers to basically show them "hey, you guys aren't losing money over used games. Why not give the consumers a discount?"
And we all know how willingly 'pro-consumer' companies like EA and Activison will completely lower the prices of their games. right? They'll completely sell FIFA 14 & COD:Ghosts @ $30. Because goodwill. :chaos:

>implying /b/ is a legit source

This post on reddit sheds more on the issue. If all those quotes are legit (didn't provide sources, sadly), it basically backs up what I saw while skimming through that pastebin.

What most interested me is this:

Now onto the other things. As some of us know, you will be able to have a "circle" of friends, 10 people to be exact, that will be able to access your game library from anywhere (in the same region, I'm assuming..still not clear about this) at anytime (as long as you or someone else in your circle isn't playing it). This is of course how things work now, two of your friends can't play the game at the same time from one disc on two separate consoles.

If that's true, then Microsoft deserves the shit they've been given simply because they've marketed this thing terribly.

People will be able to know who is dumb enough to give away his rights as a consumer and as a gamer and actually accept the humiliation and money-draining of Micro$oft. It's so ridiculous that I didn't even know a company could be that stupid. I mean, the console is only supported in 21 countries (mine being not one of them, so fuck you M$), it has used games DRM making you pay a fee for a used game, forces you to use a pointless (most of the time, for me anyway) camera with unneeded and redundant features such as making you watch TV and speak and wave your hand like an idiot to switch channels instead of simply pushing buttons on a remote control.

On top of all those flaws, the console forces you to be always-online with all that Cloud crap and the check-in once every 24 hour thing. Yeah, no. Micro$oft lost it.

What pisses me off is that people are STILL dumb to accept ALL of those restrictions and issues and will buy the X1 anyway.. I can't blame M$ for using people like that if they can.

And yes, even if I'm seriously bashing the X1 like that I'm not really sided with Sony or Nintendo either. Nintendo had a horrible presentation at E3 this year and the only good things were SSB and X - everything else was a huge disappointment and ESPECIALLY the "secret retro game everyone wants them to work on" that eventually turned out to be another fucking 2D DKC game. Don't get me wrong, I love DK, but they shouldn't have made us this excited and shouldn't have kept all this secrecy.

Sony on the other hand had a decent E3. $399, no DRM, supported in all countries, lets you share games, and since Sony has very good first party studios, we'll eventually see decent first party (and 3rd party too, no doubt.) games. I admit though that they do have a lack in games that they showed - only Infamous caught my attention.

Micro$oft, despite all the flaws in the X1, had a pretty cool conference really. I enjoyed watching a conference full of games and not much PR bullshit.

"Q: How many people can be signed in to Xbox Live on a single Xbox One at one time?

A: We made that simple, it’s virtually unlimited. Our vision is to extend the great benefits of Xbox Live Gold membership to anyone in your home.

...We’re also announcing today a new benefit for Gold membership on Xbox One is the ability for anyone in your home to access many Xbox Live Gold benefits on your Xbox One at no additional cost. And the primary Xbox Live Gold membership travels with you to any Xbox One system."

Sick

Because you know... good companies don't plan DLC while still making the game. *coughcapcomcough*

Yes they do... Not planning your game with DLC in mind is just poor planning. The same applies to any product. You should have a roadmap past launch to best design your product...
