Some notable individuals have badges under their names and, trained by pokemon games, the raving masses desire nothing other than self-fulfillment obtained in the form of badges. Small squares of pixels are the entire meaning of existence of every user of this site and most of you will never be able to admit it, still believing in the flimsy lies of "competition" and "community." Aristotle called an individual's ultimate purpose the telos. Around here, we just call that badges.

I missed this whole based god thing getting particularly popular on smogon, though I gotta hand it to that motherfucker, he works with some amazing producer. You can basically take any lilb song, strip the lyrics out, and have a stellar triphop/illbient/electronica... thing

i find myself emulating tumblr posters and people like az and solace cuz i used to/still do hang out with them a lot and it tends to rub off on you the way they just type run on sentences without any capitalization or punctuation which is ironic considering i'm a head of the GP team but w/e

also i just kinda picked up on how to 9.9 from Jibaku from way back when and just have never stopped

you're absolutely on point about his production though / clams casino does a lot of solo shit too its trill

edit: lil b has a lot of trash: wonton soup and some decent stuff:

his voice is definitely nothing great, but he can fit in with his songs well

his image is all over the place though, so people can just generally invoke his name and it can pass for ironic or whatever

but it's definitely true that people adopt certain things that people you hang out with often say/do. i don't think it's at all exclusive to smogon, but it's probably just magnified here because jokes are immortalized in posts or logs, and the ~big users~ posting styles are usually more unique than how they probably talk irl, so it's pretty easy to find a ""knockoff"" i suppose.

i feel like i definitely started typing like az after hanging out a lot with him in different channels. it's really just the way to converse i guess..
