Garchomp Voting to start on September 5th

I haven't played at all the last couple days; hax keeps bringing my record down. Better to leave it where it's at.

That, and I didn't know how the rating system worked until about a week ago.

Actually I think you can lower your deviation some by losing some matches. I know that when I started laddering on standard I first won a lot of matches and got my rating up, but when the opponents started getting more difficult I was losing every other match or every two matches over and over again for a while and saw my deviation go down fast.

Of course your rating will go down also, but it looks like you can afford to have that happen and still stay well above 1650.
 
Heh, finally, I think I'm safe from being eliminated from voting...

Melfice has:

Standard 1620 - 1728 = 1674 with a deviation of 54

Suspect 1612 - 1713 = 1662.5 with a deviation of 50.5

Man, I had some awful luck yesterday and my Suspect rating plummeted big time. I had to do some ladder crunching with an extreme amount of tension for an hour to get it back up to a reasonable level...that was not fun. -.-

Oddly enough, it doesn't seem that deviation moves by a huge amount for each day that you don't play. I didn't play the standard ladder for 3 days (I played a little today), and the deviation only increased by about 3.5, going from 50.5 to 54. It seems like today, if you don't play, but have at least 58.5 deviation (59 might be really risky), you're most likely safe, provided that it only goes down by 1 or so like it did for me. However, I'm not completely sure how the rating formula goes, so yeah, you don't have to take my word for it.

EDIT: I guess I should screenshot mine so that I can have proof that I made it this far on the deadline in case I drop at all before the actual voting starts.

Ok! We are pulling together the final list of players that made the ratings cut. This process may be delayed because I need DJD to give me the data and he has limited internet access at the moment. To be safe, you should screenshot your record now if you are borderline... but the data may be collected tomorrow or Sunday.

Once I have all the information, invitations will be sent out to all eligible players and we will vote. The vote will likely take place on Monday or Tuesday of next week.

guys you don't need to present those. only keep them handy in case you meet the ranking right now, but something happens with doug's stat gathering and you're left off the list or something.
 
It doesn't matter if your house was hit by a tsunami, because your records are saved on the server; what would matter is actually being able to vote, haha.

I'm to lazy to get a screenshot, whatever. Voting is over rated anyway. If I don't get to vote I will live...
 
As Jabba said, stop posting your records; we'll only need them if for some reason you get left out of the system.
 
ugh. 1.5 hours to go, and i haven't even started suspect laddering. the votality seems to go down so slowly.

ahh fuck my internet connection. crapped out before I could finish suspect laddering. guess I won't vote on this D=
 
The good news is that I have internet access for the weekend! I am collecting results and we will be announcing the final tallies tomorrow. More news to follow.
 
lol, I got fucked out of voting because my computer - which only decided it would run shoddy properly a couple of weeks before suspect came out - decided it didn't like it again and cut out after like a week of the suspect ladder. My fault for having a six year old computer, I suppose!

I've got a question, though: Will Garchomp being voted uber have any effect on the Standard Ladder at this stage? As far as I understand it, this test is only a small part of a much bigger 3-stage test, and if Garchomp is banned now he may actually be unbanned come Stage 3. Will we be waiting until whole test is over before officially moving 'Chomp to ubers, or will he be moved there as soon as this smaller test is completed?
 
I lost access to Shoddybattle the past 2 weeks. I hope my rating didn't drop too much and still eligible to vote.

You could probably fill out a special permission form and be able to vote. Your situation, in my opinion, is enough to let you vote with special permission.
