This couldn't get any better for me unless they banned Deoxys-e as well. I love the diversity and new opportunity this ban brings. It feels like a weight only my shoulders has been lifted. I, personally, am going to love being able to build teams without having to always consider the land shark when making them. Thus, I'm really hope Garchomp does not get unbanned somehow.

Choice Scarf Metagross used Earthquake! Metagross also deals with Deoxys-E nicely too.
There's a counter to everything, sometimes ya just need to think outside the box.
If someone tries to over centralize something it'll get punished. Lucario's defenses aren't great, so that's fairly easy to take down...

i agree. it's the one's that are hard to counter that are targeted. if we have to target another poke, i would choose gengar. subgar's a bitch.

Exactly, he hits hard, but in uber terms NOT that hard. Darkrai outclass him in almost everything and it has better defences overall and it's also faster.
About Garchomp - I never used Garchomp in standard ladder (because I thought he was broken and this voting proves that :D) and it was still possible to get some wins. But it was really annoying to send one pokemon as a sacrifice and finish it with another. I think his unique speed tier, really good attack and great STAB combination with Sand Veil made him uber, no doubt about it. And he can be used with success in ubers, especially Scarf and Bander. Maybe someone will try luck with Haban Swords Dancer (Dragon Resist Berry :P). But right now if someone will dominate OU tier, that will be Salamence or Heatran, which were used in suspect test ladder really often. But I can't call them dominating forces like Garchomp. And about Deoxys-S - it has good counters like Spiritomb, Scizor or Metagross, so even if he'll stay I don't see him that troublesome like Garchomp. But I think if he'll get banned, the reason will be Double-Screen leading set.
Heck, even UU Nidoqueen walls most sets and it's not that badly hurt by HP Ice. And with his reasonable speed and not so great defences in can be always revenge killed by more bulky Scarfer. Really, it's strong, but not that much as Garchomp in my opinion.

ummm... i think you guys are confused. whether or not something will be classed as uber isn't whether or not it'll work well in ubers but whether it is broken in OU. garchomp will not function well in ubers i can guarantee you that. heck, garchomp usage would be high in ubers regadless of this vote if that's the case.
any team without a lum berry gross or blissey is pretty damn gengar weak. set up a sub on the switch, sleep the first counter and hit whatever's coming in hard.
72% of the votes isn't laughing material. It seems Garchomp was really bound to be kicked from OU.
I agree with 90% of what you said. The voting is still rational because Garchomp will be banned for at least another 8 months. When we finally get a good understanding of the Platinum meta game, Garchomp will have to be tested again.

While garchomp may now be banned from Standard play on shoddy and Wi-Fi, it can still be allowed (along with wobbuffet) in the battle tower at least.
I for one am excited to see that the community put its ego aside and did the right thing in this Garchomp debate. I personally can't wait to play without Garchomp ruining every. single. match.
Yeah but:
1) tbh there probably isn't going to be much reason to reshape the tier list after platinum. Giratina's Origin Form is "obviously Uber", Rotom's new forms are just good fighting-type counters, Bullet Punch Scizor is still Scizor....the only thing that could even potentially be an issue afaik is Sky Form Shaymin (which may not even see much use with all the Heatran floating around). Serene Grace + Air Slash + Seed Flare is really good coverage off 120 SpAtk and 127 Speed (is that seriously an 80% chance of giving -2 SpDef to the opponent?)
2) we're trying to settle the tier list for what we have now. If Platinum causes any metagame-changing shifts, it will just be the new gen of pokemon, similar to what FR/LG did to Advance (changing it from just "200" to "Full Advance" and having different styles of play etc)
Actually, Garchomp performs extremely well in Ubers. I get at least a kill in every match with the Choice Band set, and any of its sets can serve as an amazing revenge killer. Lugia is really the only thing that stands a chance against it in any tier. You guys forget that Garchomp outspeeds Palkia, Dialga, Rayquaza, Kyogre and Groudon and chomp has STAB on the best attacking type in Ubers.
Eh even though Garchomp is a great counter to both of them, they aren't going to magically rise in power just because one of their counters is gone. Gliscor still counters every Lucario except HP Ice, which will still lose to Gyarados/Zapdos etc and any bulky water is enough to make Heatran a non-issue.
