Garchomp Voting!

garchomp will not function well in ubers i can guarantee you that. heck, garchomp usage would be high in ubers regadless of this vote if that's the case.
Let's compare these 2:

Garchomp Sand Veil 108 130 95 80 85 102
Rayquaza Air Lock 105 150 90 150 90 95

Most visible difference is rayquaza has superior special attack and a higher attack,sp.def while garchomp is slightly higher in 3 other stats. While rayquaza does have extremespeed, garchomp can still OHKO rayquaza with outrage at least.

Don't take this off-topic with ridiculous petty quibbles, please. I've been rather enjoying the serenity of a banned Garchomp. Don't turn this into an argument about the viability of Dugtrio to counter Lucario.

I'm not so sure about Stealth Rock, I'm also definitely thinking the OU list won't get bigger just because Chomp is gone. The OU list is already inflated...maybe it will at least become stable at or near its current size?

Deoxys-S needs to go, though.

Without Stealth Rock, Flying would easily become the most dominant type in the game (as if it wasn't already a top contender). Just the fact that they would be immune to all entry hazzards and has one of the largest pools of Pokemon to pick from would be enough to come to that conclusion. :p

To people who think Lucario is super powerful now that Garchomp is gone, ask yourself this: Would you honestly waste your Garchomp by taking a Swords Dance Lucario's Extremespeed for most of your health just to counter it? (No, only if it was the only thing you had left.)

If Salamence really does get Outrage, and Skymin becomes OU, I think Stealth Rock will be one of those necessary evils.

I honestly think Salamence might go to ubers if he gets Outrage, he's stronger than both Garchomp and Dragonite AND has a base 100 speed, which beats both Rayquaza and Dragonite.

He is weak to Stealth Rock, can be hit by Thunder Wave, has less defenses, and does not have Sand Veil. Really, the only advantage Salamence has over Dragonite is higher speed, and if you're not relying on a Scarf user to revenge kill it anyways, that's pretty much a moot point. I think he's certainly a threat, and new counters might have to be found (Registeel can stop both Outrage Mence and Skymin at one), but probably not uber.

Although I don't agree with banning Stealth Rock, I'm almost surprised that more pokemon apparently haven't been given Rapid Spin in Platinum.

I find it pretty strange that people are scared about Salamence turning Uber just because he has one more thing in common with Garchomp. Sure he'll become scarier, but there were a lot of reasons why Garchomp pretty much made Salamence his bitch in DP OU- only one of them was "Outrage."

Part of me is thinking that giving Outrage to Salamence would be a friendlier way of making the metagame more offensive for the people who were disappointed at Garchomp's tier placement.

Stealth rock shouldn't be banned. It hits 4xweak pokes like yanmega and moltres hard in the ass, but there aren't much other viable 4x rock weaks (that I can think of right now) anyway.

2x weak Pokemon like gyarados and salamence are still at the top of OU even with stealth rock. It's good, but not that good.

To tell the truth I'm not... with official Nintendo Tournament being most 2vs2 battles, where SR isn't usefull too much, I think they're basing on those tournaments (I'm not so sure, it's just my thought). What I want to say ? If Nintendo base their ideas and changes on standard tournaments playing, then they can think that Rapid Spin isn't that neccesary (and Toxic Spikes & Spikes are also not used on 2vs2) too add it for more pokemon. And really - no Rapid Spin tutorial hurts.

About Stealth Rock - I would like too see it working ONLY on flying types and taking maximum 25%. It would make it more balanced (just to balance Gyarados and Salamence for example) and I would like to have a chance to use without Rapid Spin interesting pokes like Houndoom or Moltres, which for me are just discriminated because of their Fire type (of course that fits to another SR-weak types).

Well... being slower then Garchomp and having worse defences (and also easier to deal with flying/dragon typing) makes it much more easier to deal with in my opinion. Also not having immunity to T-wave like Garchomp helps here alot. So in my opinion it doesn't make it uber yet. Also after Outrage it's so easy to be revenge killed. In other words it will be stronger, but not broken yet in OU tier in my opinion.

Man I wished I didn't built my team's calcs so much towards garchomp now im getting f'd up by SD lucario I hate them! lol

I think a lot of people voted uber because they were bored with the game the way it was, tired of playing the same thing over and over. They wanted to change it up a little and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I definitely predict Deoxys E going back to ubers in the near future and garchomp returning to OU eventually.

I was just thinking that with platinum comming out, that is irrational to vote currently. Pokemon will learn moves in platinum that will completely change the pase of the game.

I am positive it will be re-tested, but what many people are forgetting (at least, it seems that way) is that these new forms and attacks don't magically appear in shoddy. They must be confirmed, and then written into the code, which will take time. What's the point of waiting when we won't even be playing the "Platinum" metagame for a few weeks (personal estimation, I could be way off).

I say vote now, test again later.
