Name: Hoglet (Hog + Piglet)
Evolution: Evolves into Hogtide(HP), Hogcules(Atk), Hogyron(Def), Hoggnid(SpA), Hogoblin(SpD), Hogust(Spe), or Hogven(All Stats Equal) at level 30 based on the highest stat.
Counterpart(s): N/A
Typing:
Abilities: Thick Fat/
Adaptability
Base Stats: 60 / 60 / 60 / 60 / 60 / 60 (BST 360)
Height: 0.7m
Weight: 38 Kg
Flavor/Design: Design wise it's pretty simple. It's a feral piglet with brown fur. No tusks yet but if you've seen baby boars you know that they can be pretty damn cute.
In the Lorian Lore Hoglet is a pokemon from another region that was sent to Loria centuries ago as explorers were first settling the lands. However Loria was a prime romping grounds for the pokemon and so they began to spread like wildfire! They are often used by trainers who are just starting out and trying to find their style, much like Hoglet is trying to find its own style.
Also side note, ideally Hoglet is the one being found in the grassy plains where as its evolutions may be found elsewhere. Part of my idea is that similar to Eevee this pokemon adapts to its environment by using what stat suits the environment the best.
Potential Competitive Role: I'm sure this'll end up being a menace in LC or something.
Name: Hogtide (Hog + Tide + Hogtied)
Counterpart(s): Hogcules, Hogyron, Hoggnid, Hogoblin, Hogust, or Hogven
Typing:
Abilities: Poison Point/
Water Absorb
Base Stats: 115 / 60 / 95 / 105 / 70 / 65 (BST 510)
Height: 0.7m
Weight: 49.5 Kg
Notable Moves: Scald, Surf, Ice Beam, Sludge Bomb, Thunderbolt, Fire Blast, Shadow Ball, Flip Turn, Knock Off, Fake Out, Haze, Nasty Plot, Toxic Spikes, Toxic, Thunder Wave, Slack Off, Roar
Flavor/Design: Design wise it's based on both the typical feral hog but also the sea pig. As a result it's hairless and pale as opposed to it's fluffier pre-evolution. Also sea pigs apparently have poisonous skin which is the main reason I gave it poison point.
In the Lorian Lore it is said that a Hoglet with a high constitution will end up becoming a Hogtide. Rather than be a talented swimmer this pokemon scuttles around riverbeds and seafloors scavenging for food. It tends to fit more levelheaded patient trainers to match its more patient style.
Potential Competitive Role: Oh boy a bulky water type, how yummy. It's basically diet vaporeon except geared moreso for physical bulk and with better recovery. Honestly this won't do much in OU but it may have a niche in the lower tiers as a bulk water.
Name: Hogcules (Hog + Hercules)
Counterpart(s): Hogtide, Hogyron, Hoggnid, Hogoblin, Hogust, or Hogven
Typing:
Abilities: Moxie/
Defiant
Base Stats: 95 / 115 / 70 / 60 / 65 / 105 (BST 510)
Height: 1.3m
Weight: 99.5 Kg
Notable Moves: Close Combat, Superpower, Earthquake, Stone Edge, Body Slam, Knock Off, Crunch, U-Turn, Fake Out, Swords Dance, Bulk Up, Thunder Wave
Flavor/Design: Design wise it's an oddly swole feral hog with some warthog elements in there as well, however to tie it into hercules a bit, it could have the pelt of a male Pyroar on its back.
In the Lorian Lore it is said that a Hoglet with immense strength becomes Hogcules. These pokemon are known for causing trouble as their strength allows them to burst through even the toughest of buildings. It is said that only a trainer as strong or as stubborn as it can even have a chance to train it.
Potential Competitive Role: A decently fast fighting type could be quite the potent little piggy in the meta. With its high attack and speed in addition to its decent HP, it can honestly have a niche in UU, especially since Defiant turns intimidate into a free attack boost.
Name: Hogyron (Hog + Iron)
Counterpart(s): Hogtide, Hogcules, Hoggnid, Hogoblin, Hogust, or Hogven
Typing:
Abilities: Heavy Metal/
Pressure
Base Stats: 95 / 105 / 115 / 65 / 70 / 60 (BST 510)
Height: 1.3m
Weight: 480 Kg
Notable Moves: Heavy Slam, Iron Head, Gyro Ball, Earthquake, Superpower, Body Slam, Stone Edge, Knock Off, Fake Out, Haze, Stealth Rock, Toxic, Thunder Wave, Slack Off, Roar,
Steel Roller, Steel Beam
Flavor/Design: Design wise it's based on not only feral hog, but also on something called pig iron otherwise known as crude iron. It plays a large part in the formation of steel. Likewise since it is a heavier hog, it should probably be on the fatter side of things, resembling some of the heavier domestic pig breeds as well.
In the Lorian Lore it is said that a Hoglet with an iron will become Hogyron. These pokemon are seen as the most helpful of Hoglet's evolutions as they are some of the most calm. Due to their weight they are often used to flatten or crush various objects. It is said that their slower nature and sturdier bodies make them great partners for trainers who prefer a safer style of battling.
Potential Competitive Role: It's a defensive steel type that has access to recovery on top of decent bulk and due to heavy metal some pretty powerful slams. It's going to be quite the worthwhile member in UU or heck maybe even OU for that alone.
Name: Hoggnid (Hog + Nidhogg)
Counterpart(s): Hogtide, Hogcules, Hogyron, Hogoblin, Hogust, or Hogven
Typing:
Abilities: Sap Sipper/
Berserk
Base Stats: 70 / 105 / 65 / 115 / 60 / 95 (BST 510)
Height: 0.8m
Weight: 77.1 Kg
Notable Moves: Draco Meteor, Surf, Thunderbolt, Fire Blast, Ice Beam, Sludge Bomb, Outrage, Scale Shot, Dragon Claw, Fake Out, Earthquake, Superpower, Knock Off, Crunch, Body Slam, U-Turn, Dragon Dance, Swords Dance, Nasty Plot
Flavor/Design: Design wise it's based on not only feral hog, but also on the mythical dragon Nidhogg that eats the root of the world tree Yggdrasil, hence why it has Sap Sipper.
In the Lorian Lore it is said that a Hoglet with mystic cunning will become Hoggnid. These pokemon are often seen as the most dangerous of the Hoglet evolutions as not only are they quite intelligent but also destructive to the region itself. Due to their diet consisting of tree roots a lot of times Hoggnid may overturn trees causing them to both damage the landscape and inconvenience the populous of the region.
Potential Competitive Role: A fairly powerful dragon type that has no bulk to speak of, unlike it's physical counterpart. It's main power lies in its devastating meteors along side its ability to plot, or perhaps even go physical due to its dancing. Sounds like it could do some major damage in the lower tiers but I'm not certain about OU material.
Name: Hogoblin (Hog + Hobgoblin)
Counterpart(s): Hogtide, Hogcules, Hogyron, Hoggnid, Hogust, or Hogven
Typing:
Abilities: Prankster/
Pixilate
Base Stats: 70 / 105 / 65 / 60 / 115 / 95 (BST 510)
Height: 0.8m
Weight: 77.1 Kg
Notable Moves: Body Slam, Fake Out, Quick Attack, Play Rough, Knock Off, Crunch, Superpower, Earthquake, U-Turn, Toxic, Taunt, Swords Dance, Bulk Up, Light Screen, Reflect, Thunder Wave, Slack Off, Roar
Flavor/Design: Design wise it's based on not only feral hog, but also on the fey creature known as a hobgoblin. They're often seen as mischievous pranksters, who are ultimately still good natured if not angered. Also of all the Hoglet evolutions this is the one that would be the most likely to be bipedal.
In the Lorian Lore it is said that a Hoglet with fey-like whimsy will become Hogoblin. These pokemon are generally seen as little pranksters that are quite playful. However some of them work with their trainers to mess with the annoying tourists who tend to not really care for Loria as a whole and only wish to see the amusement parks in Rolan City.
Potential Competitive Role: This is probably the strongest evolution by far. Prankster allows it to have priority Slack Off among other things while Pixilate does something wild for it. It gives Hogoblin actual physical STAB outside of Play Rough and it lacks the chance of missing! This is gonna be in OU for those reasons alone.
Name: Hogust (Hog + Gust)
Counterpart(s): Hogtide, Hogyron, Hogcules, Hoggnid, Hogoblin, or Hogven
Typing:
Abilities: Steadfast/
Speed Boost
Base Stats: 60 / 65 / 95 / 105 / 70 / 115 (BST 510)
Height: 0.7m
Weight: 38.6 Kg
Notable Moves: Air Slash, Hurricane, Fire Blast, Heat Wave, Thunderbolt, Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb, Ice Beam, Icy Wind, Fake Out, Knock Off, U-Turn, Nasty Plot, Slack Off, Roost, Defog,
Extreme Speed, Ominous Wind, Silver Wind, Razor Wind
Flavor/Design: Design wise it's based on a feral hog, however unlike the other Hoglet evolutions I don't really have a specific other half for it. As a result I'll leave this up to whoever ends up having to design the sprite for it. Feel free to take inspirations from various wind spirits or the phrase "When Pigs Fly" for inspiration.
In the Lorian Lore it is said that a Hoglet that can run like the wind, will become Hogust. These pokemon are known for their speed above all else both on the land and on the air. They're considered a hot commodity by trainers in the region as they have the ability to control the temperature of the air around them, making them quite desirable in the hot hellish lands of Loria.
Potential Competitive Role: This is an interesting one to be sure. Speed boost makes it an interesting beast when you consider its already high speed, on top of its vast special movepool that gives it some interesting moves to mess around with. I'm not sure where this special sweeper would fit in, but I would not be surprised if it ends up in OU.
Name: Hogven (Hog + Even)
Counterpart(s): Hogtide, Hogyron, Hogcules, Hoggnid, Hogoblin, or Hogust
Typing:
Abilities: Thick Fat/
Adaptability
Base Stats: 85 / 85 / 85 / 85 / 85 / 85 (BST 510)
Height: 1.4m
Weight: 76 Kg
Notable Moves: It has all moves listed in the previous entries. Yes I said ALL MOVES!
Flavor/Design: Design wise it's based on a feral hog however I feel as though this should have traits from all sorts of pigs thrown in the mix as well, to make it the sussiest of the sus.
In the Lorian Lore it is said that a Hoglet that never finds its true path become Hogven. Hogven are seen as lesser when compared with the other hogs as it doesn't excel at anything really. However if a wild Hogven is spotted it is noted as the leader of the local Hoglet population. Their generalist approach to things make them surprisingly good leaders in the wild, even if to trainers they are less than useful.
Potential Competitive Role: Despite its added resistances with thick fat and a more powerful STAB with adaptability along with a huge movepool, Hogven does not amount to much. The main gimmicks it has are adaptability STAB and having the largest movepool of the bunch as its movepool is practically all the other movepools combined. That said this mon is going to be making it to RU at best since its stats and typing are going to hold it back majorly.
