Hmm... this actually looks pretty solid. Couple of suggestions:
1. Put the Lum berry back on Jolteon. He doesn't have the defense to tank and recover hits, so using him as a status blocker will be more fruitful.

2. Consider using Substitute. I don't know which pokemon you should use it on, you've got a bit of 4MSS going on, but it doubles as a status blocker and you can baton pass it. It might be worth dropping endure, but then again endure seems pretty critical to your Smeargle set.

3. Evasion counter. Yeah, what will probably kill your run is some shmuck using bright powder and Double Team. You'll probably be fine for the Gold Medal, but past that this will be a problem. Someone might want to pack Ariel Ace (the main reason Salamance is popular on Emerald Tower Teams). Wish Gyarados could learn it.

4. Taunt counter. Not really a move change, just be wary of it.

Hey thanks. Yeah, in practice Lum Berry is better. It also means he can take a stray Swagger, shrug off the confusion, and pass that to Gyarados.
As for Substitute, I may replace Thunder Wave with it (Smeargle's set won't change). Twave seemed nice on paper, but in practice, the Frontier is all about fast and furious offense. Thunderbolt is the go-to move 90% of the time, and I find it's more helpful to add extra damage on the target for your next guy going in, as opposed to status. Sub -> Pass would also be a safer way to switch Gyarados in. Pass in on an Earthquake (happens A LOT, more than Jolt switching into Volt Absorb), get the Intimidate that gives a bulkier sub, and then at least one free hit. This assumes Jolt has a sub up before a Poke with EQ comes in.

I don't care about going past battle 70, so I think I can do without Aerial Ace. All my non-Factory losses have been hax, but mostly due to Quick Claw activation and consecutive critical hits (sometimes all that from the same mon).

Just how rare is it for Crescent Island to appear? Am I correct in understanding that, in addition to the one daily Mirage Spot appearance, it can randomly appear at any time of the day while playing if I am online (from passersby)?

Can vouch from experience that Substitute is handy in the Gen III frontier. Besides serving as an attack buffer, it blocks status moves, which is nice since the AI is dumb; if they have moves like Thunder Wave, they'll often spam it to no avail if you have a sub up. And it helps shield your attackers from stat drops such as Intimidate (doesn't block Tickle in this game, for some odd reason).

Just how to I get Bagon to appear in White Forest?

You have to use the Entralink and visit Black City, then find and battle Socialite Grace, then Bagon will appear in White Forest. I can't remember whether you need a second DS with Black for you to visit Black City or if you can do it with just one DS and only white, though.

So, um.
I done the glitch to get Mew in VC Blue and caught it at level 1 (the growl 6 times thing). ... I can't retrieve it from my PC. Is this new to VC or is it something that matches up with the original games? Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Does anyone remember when they revealed the mega evolutions for ORAS? Was it like 3-4 months after the announcement of the game?

Does the mysteries and conspiracies of pokemon thread not include mysteries and conspiracies from creepy pastas?

NO.

Creepypastas are not part of Pokémon canon, and thus do not fall under the scope of Orange Islands. We might as well have discussed fanfiction or fanmade Pokémon (we're not, by the way).

If I recall correctly, the Hoenn starters were the first ORAS Megas to be confirmed, in the June 2014 issue of CoroCoro. Mega Sableye was revealed a few days earlier/later (revealed on June 11, while CoroCoro was officially released on the 15th, but CoroCoro leaked on the 7th that month). To my knowledge, the rest of the Megas were revealed between June and August, while the game launched in November. ORAS was announced in May 2014, merely a month before the Megas were revealed.

Then again, ORAS was a mid-generation game, where they didn't have many features to announce ahead of launch, so they had to release "everything they had" to market the games. SuMo will herald a new generation, so just the existence of them is enough to keep the Internet abuzz with speculation. They can afford to be quiet for a long time, just as they did with XY, without upsetting the fans too much. Even when they do tell us stuff, they can keep the information flow to a trickle, practically giving no new info each time, and still get a satisfactory amount of marketing buzz. In short, don't expect Megas just yet. They can give us a complete picture of the woodpecker in two months, then stay quiet for another two, and this thread will still see plenty of activity. With ORAS, the fans largely knew what to expect, so they had to toss out the Megas to keep us thrilled.

Hey everyone, so I'm planning on restarting my Pokemon Black version so that I can re-catch legendaries and do some RNGing.

I was wondering if there a list of in-game tiers for Pokemon so that I can see what's best to use and plan my team accordingly to speed run the game.

Where do I discuss Pokemon theories/Creepypastas...

DHR deleted this, but I'll give you an answer anyway: Not on Smogon. Try Serebiiforums. Bulbagarden. Tumblr. PokéBeach. Wherever, but not here.

Does anyone have any tips for winning all the contests to get the ribbon animation at the start of a battle? The more I think about it the more I'm thinking how incredibly difficult it seems.

Basically, just max out your contest stats and apply basic thought to the moves you use. The appeal round practically wins you even the Master Ranks provided you don't do horrendously at the talent round.

I thought you could only max out one category (i.e. Beauty, Cuteness etc.)
Nope, maxing out every single one is possible - unlike in previous generations, there's no limit to the amount of Poké Blocks you can give to your Pokémon. In fact, a recommended method is when making Poké Blocks to make the four berries four different colours - this makes a Rainbow Block or Rainbow Block+ which boost each contest stat at once.

Fair enough.
Another question: is it possible to recover purged/deleted threads on Smogon?
I used to have a thread in the Wi-Fi forums (I'm talking 5 years ago) but it seems to have been deleted. Is there a back-up anywhere?
