HG-SS Cloning Glitch!

This is so relevant to my interests. I was about to start looking for someone who can dupe pokemon but if this gets figured out, that's even better.

I notice the factor that's not getting tested is Yellow Forest. Cantab, have you picked up that wonder card? I'd say since you're messing with it, you should focus on using the forest.

In my experience, the pokemon I add to my pokewalker has always dissappeared from my pc. Maybe some people are just getting randomly lucky.

I'm forming more ideas about how the Pokewalker works. The cartridge keeps track of what Pokemon you have in the Pokewalker - try to return a Pokemon it doesn't think you have, and that Pokemon gets dropped. So I don't think powering off when you send the Pokemon to the Pokewalker will help, and indeed, you say you didn't do that.

This is trivial to prove. Try holding up/select/R at the Pokéwalker connection screen, without a Pokéwalker connected; you'll get your Pokémon back again, even if the Pokéwalker isn't present. As a result, it must be being tracked on the cartridge.

You'll also have to reset your Pokewalker after that. All of this is in the instruction manual. (Yeah, I know, who reads that for pokemons.)

In fact, the full data probably isn't even stored on the Pokewalker. After all, there's no need.

How'd you do that? I thought you had to have Rage on the Pokemon Ditto Transforms into which would mean that the most you can have on a Ditto is move/move/move/Transform or Rage (since you can relearn Transform in Blacktorn).

haha...I have no idea why I said Waterfall. I got my Smeargle with Vespiquen's moves to Sketch Rage just now so I got Ditto to transform into that Smeargle.

It doesn't work. I already did it.

When you try to transfer your Pokemon back to the game, it'll delete the one on the PokeWalker.

I sent a Pokemon to the Pokewalker. When it reached the Pokewalker, I powered off the DS. Upon resuming the game, I was told my save file was corrupt and the backup would be loaded. The Pokemon I sent to the Pokewalker was still in my PC.

But when I attempted to have my Pokemon return from the Pokewalker, it was released into the wild :-( Seems the game detects it.

I'm going to carry on trying stuff.

i have an idea for you, (can't try 'cause not at home) send a pokemon to the pokewalker, the transfer said pokemon from hg/ss to any other game and try to get the pokemon back from the pokewalker

Has anyone tried trading the pokemon to another game then sending the pokmon from the pokewalker back. also, has anyone tried sending a duplicated pokemon (by AR or another cloning method) to the walker which they have a copy of in their PC. I doubt this is the method they use, but its worth a shot.

This is what i've been trying to tell you all to do! It's a foolproof idea! Just transfer the other Pokemon somewhere the Pokewalker won't detect it. Oh, and i just talked to my friend. Says he already has 3 pikachu (Cloned).

I don't think so...it might be an error in programming. Nobody's perfect. Not even an army of programmers. Something always goes by unnoticed...

Mind explaining exactly how the glitch works? From what I've got, after Transforming and getting Rage, run out of PP for Rage only, then exit the battle.

And I honestly don't think that this "cloning" glitch will work. I'm pretty sure that there's some flag set if the Pokemon isn't removed from the game, meaning that if it's still in the PC after the transfer, you cannot clone.

I still have no idea how you sent a pokemon to the walker and still have it in the PC. And from what I've read so far it pretty much hasn't been explained, either.

For everyone who's complaining about trading it over, I already tried that. Sadly, I guess if it tries to transfer over the pokemon into the game, but there's NO pokemon data in the game (which you do by turning off while saving, thus forcing it to go back to the last save file), it'll just release it.

I don't think there is progress here. All I've seen are speculations on how this works and may only exist for the OP and no one else. Locking this until more information is discovered.
