Hello!

Here is part 2 of the joys of the wifi tournament:

In this episode, a guest from part 1 makes a cameo, and then makes ANOTHER cameo! yes!

Just played lucariojr again and won 3-0 in a GG! Rating is 1947 now plus two more wins. (101-8-69)

I battled a bit this morning and it updated, probably because I didn't play all afternoon. Wifi still is shaky, hopefully it won't DC me while I'm playing.

Tell me how I can get a disconnect on 2-3 bars of wifi? To whomever I played just now, really sorry, that wasn't intentional at all. Seems like I've had four matches where the you have lost connection message has flashed up now, so I'm taking a break to let my wifi (or maybe it's their servers...) sort itself out.

When it doesn't update for awhile does it update all at once or does it do it 1 battle at a time? It just updated for the first time in hours and it only updated for 1 battle. I hope the others counted...

I just freaking hate how everyone and their mother runs a fast Tyranitar nowadays (108+)...lost against a 1733 Japanese because of that. I was probably maybe at 1800 fro the first time...

They tend to come in one at a time if you're still playing the whole time. If you take a long break, it will likely update it all at once when you get back.

I think it's completely based on how quickly the servers run the calculations on a game-by-game basis. I literally didn't get a single update in my 21 games yesterday, but when I started battling this morning, they all updated simultaneously. My guess is that the servers *just* finished calculating the score from that one game, and you'll see the others start trickling in.

Hahaha I just had the haxiest opening turn from my foe. Technitop Fake Out CH, Garchomp Rock slide, CH KO, CH. Would´ve been perfect if it had flinched my second Pokémon. I still won in a close game thanks to perfect prediction.

So, I was battling against a Ferrothorn. I killed it, but it had Rocky Helmet. I ended up dying too. In the end, it said I lost. Isn't the team with Rocky Helmet get the loss? Can anyone clear this up?

Opponent flinches me with every Rock Slide use, and gets about 4 critical hits between using Rock Slide and Icy Wind. That kind of sucked, especially since I was about to reach into the 1900s.

My record isn't updating, it shows I have 14 battles when I've probably done at least 20. The weird thing is,it shows up on the GBU website.

If you faint their last pokemon but you lose your last mon to an opponent's ability like Iron Barbs or an item from that attack you lose.

I legitly think I am going to quit the tounrment and never take part in anything run by the American Pokemon Company again. I contacted them about all the dc'ing issues and they said, essentially. that while "there is a penalty system in place for disconnectors" they also say the whole point of the tounrment is for fun and shouldn't be taken seriously....this proves once again that no one at the pokemon company actually cares about competitiveness, just money from selling the games and other merchandise. Which while is obviously true, it's still annoying that they don't help competitive players at all directly.

Edit: The Japanese Company, however, are much kinder about messages and actually agreed about the issues of dc'ing and agreed to work on a harsh punishment (For japanses dc'ers they said). They also actually care about competitive players from some of the messages I've recieved from them (I play japanese versions, and am fairly good at communicating with japanese people)

Edit2 (To stop from gaining post count): At 1st post on page 40 of forum. I am talking about how they sell the game to people to make money. Please learn to read because I never said that they make money from the tournaments they do.

They basically made it now so that the Pokemon that goes down first, that player loses because obviously, their Pokemon fell first. Like if a Life Orb user kills a Pokemon and then dies, the LO user wins because the other Pokemon fell first. Same thing with Iron Barbs.

Well, I don't see at all how this tournament is for money. They don't care about money because you buy their games once (from the video game standpoint) and that game lasts you for two years or so before the next one is released. The VGC require no money to participate in. Also, be happy that they are doing an international tournament before the Spring Regionals/Nationals/Worlds as it gives you significant practice and let's you see what others are using. Look on the bright side of things.
