I've got a $1000 to burn, what should I buy?

After seeing Huy's post, I'm convinced that you must make a purchase from the linked website. Especially something like this:
mini-jelly-fish-tank.jpg
or
steampunk-nerf-handgun.jpg

Some things on that website just got insane though, like:
playdoh-cologne.jpg
or
playstation-controller-soap-bar.jpg
(cologne and soap respectively)

Actually, drinking wine once in a while is considered a healthy practice, apparently it helps your blood flow.

Almost all evidence that says that wine is good for you is A. inconclusive, B. only applicable to women, and C. not specific to wine.

Why a Kindle Fire over an iPad 2? A Kindle Fire is quite literally a poor man's iPad. Anyway, if I had that kinda money and didn't already own one, I'd put it into a gaming PC that would last me the next couple of years for both games and video / graphics work. Or a nice new TV (you can get awesome sets for $700 these days).

Or put it into going to Hawaii for Worlds ;D

save it until you actually need 1000 bucks

dont go looking for ways to spend your cash
hang onto it until something comes up that you actually want

whistle's idea is probably best; save it for a study abroad budget.

725 - 1000 isn't enough for useful stock investment

regarding a tablet, i hate apple, but the ipad2 is the best tablet out there. if you really want one, get that, though THE RUMOR IS the ipad 3 is coming out soon so...

Put it on a bank on something to generate those lovely DIVIDENDS. Then, when the time you really need the money to invest in career or study comes, use it. Seriously, refraining from spending money on things I didn't actually need, though I wanted, has saved me from bankruptcy a few times.

yeah, put it into a bank or maybe even get a COD out of it; it's not a lot of money, but you're gaining money without doing anything. Maybe it's just that I'm a bit stingy, but unless you really, really want to buy a plethora of video games, just save it. Maybe the money will come in handy in the future. Who knows?

And... the only sensible option really said here is to save it. Anyone who is above 20 should have at least 500 dollars in their bank account for emergency funds, because life will fuck you up, one way or the other.

Barring that, if you're in school, I would invest in a good tablet, especially if your professor gives out online notes. Editing note pdf files without wasting paper, and having a centralised electronic place to keep it will make your life extremely easy. Buy one that comes with a pen, and has good sensitivity to it, because an iPad 2 will not suffice. Unless of course, you are an arts student and can type out everything on a laptop.

Also, looking classy goes a long way. With that 700 dollars, you could either invest in a 300 dollar coat, that'll keep you warm, and good looking, or go with a nice pair of boots/shoes. If you're lacking a suit, you could go for a decent one with half that.

Edit: Can we make it a rule that iDunno can only have one response per thread.

As a college senior I can tell you the three most important things you could ever spend money on

1. Giant TV
2. Gaming PC
3. food
