My CM set that is almost the key to my very successful team

Kerudio @ Lum Berry
Timid
Evs: Spe/SpA/(SpD)
~Mystery Sword
~Hydro Pump
~HP Ghost
~Calm Mind

I have done a LOT of testing and have found HP Ghost to be the best third attack. It hits the same things for SE damage but is not resisted by Fighting. The only advantage Dark had is that Normal isn't immune to it, but nobody will be sending in Normal pokes against a Fighting type like Kerudio. Ghost pwns Starmie and Burungeru (after a couple of CMs that you essentially get for free on the jellyfish). Lum berry allows you to get a free CM in the face of walls like Blissey and Nattorei.

After a CM, physically defensive Nattorei takes 70% minimum from +1 Timid Mystery Sword, which is hardly difficult as it lacks reliable recovery.

I find Leftovers / Lum Berry to be the best items on this thing. Lum Berry can get you that extra CM or save you from Toxic, but the passive recovery of Leftovers is really helpful in my experience and can easily restore your health given that Kerudio survives several attacks in the 25%-30% range.

Which is the best item for the CM set? LO, Leftovers or Lum? I was thinking LO for the added power, unless a second CM would be better.

I suppose it depends on what style of play you're going for. If you're treating it like any other setup sweeper, one would think you go for a single CM boost with LO... I personally prefer Leftovers with CM sweepers that have no other form of recovery, but that's my preference... I'd say none is better than the other except when a situation calls for one over the others, and that depends on your team.

...so really, I'm pretty much saying nothing, LOL.

I found that for almost all setup sweepers, leftovers/lum/resist berry should always be used over LO. I remember last gen when I used a DD salamence, the most common thing that ruined its sweep was taking a hit when setting up and then taking LO and SS damage every turn, in addition to stealth rocks. Especially for CM users, lefties are always the best as you can set up on weakened special attackers such as a -2 latias and recover a bit the the lost HP, in addition to neutralizing sand storm damage.

I was trying a bulky Kerudio with Substitute over Calm Mind, and it was working pretty well but it lacked some punch.

Now I'm using a Sub/Calm Mind/Surf/Mystery Sword set with max speed and special attack. His coverage move is often weak anyway and only deals with 1 or 2 counters. Getting a sub up with this guy is absolutely devastating. Add that to the ability to boost your stats with Calm Mind and you can just tear through teams.

IMO Kerudio is one of the top offensive threats in this metagame - with decent defenses it can take hits, it can really deal out the pain and it has great base speed as well.

welll what can you expect from Waterrakion ?
i think if hes released, like shrang said i slap specs and watch things pumped to death
rain will be banned soon tho

Kerudio is really anti-meta right now. Water/Fighting dual stab hits so many common pokemon really hard. Its only problem is movepool as outside surf, mystery sword and hidden power, it doesn't really have any other viable moves except CM. I've tried a choice scarf/specs set and you end up having to use focus blast filler for the last move and it proved underwhelming.

I’ve been using Specs Keldio along with Drizzle Politoed (also Spec’d, but that’s neither here nor there, although a lot of teams struggle with having to switch into Rain-boosted Spec’d HPumps with the proper support) in the Dream World metagame and I have been overwhelmed with the power output.

Keldio @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justice Heart
Nature: Timid
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

Hydro Pump
Focus Blast
Mystery Sword / Surf
Toxic / Hidden Power - Dark / Surf

A 270 BP attack (in Rain, 180 otherwise) coming off a 537 SpA stat is nothing to scoff at, and the damage output is staggering. It’s like Latios firing off Draco Meteors, but better, since there’s no drop in power and you can do it over and over again. Very few Pokemon can reliably switch into this attack, as is shown by the calcs I’m providing below. Focus Blast and Mystery Sword cover basically everything Hydro Pump can't (Mystery Sword is really only for Blissey/Chansey). The only Pokemon that really messes this set up is Jellicent, which is why Toxic is in the last slot. HP-Dark can cover 252/0 Jellicent (54% - 63.9% 2HKO w/SR), but that's about it, as Lati@s and others are hit harder by Hydro Pump in the Rain. Surf is an option if you really don't want to miss and can be used over Mystery Sword if you don't care about Blissey or Chansey. Anyways...

So basically we’re looking at the ability Water Absorb (Jellicent, Vaporeon, Suicune), Evo Stone Chansey, Kingdra, or Ludicolo for reliable and repeat switch-ins. Even some of the 3HKO 'mons on this list really can’t do much back to Keldio in return, and the Pokemon like Lati@s, Starmie, and Rotom-W that can outspeed Keldio (Scarf for Rotom) still cannot switch into the attack twice. Not to mention this is only one move.

4/252 Evo Stone Chansey: 93.5% - 110.3% OHKO w/SR
252/252+ Evo Stone Chansey: 77.8% - 92% 2HKO

Once this thing is released, I predict it'll bring Rain back into the offensive weather wars (not that it's completely gone, but it's hurting). It really is a monster and should not be overlooked.

Yes. It's not allowed in WiFi, seeing as WiFi is currently using the pokemon available in game. Aside from hacking it is currently impossible to get Keldeo.

Considering the standard metagame, what's the best set for this guy? I really feel like using it since I'm addicted to my little pony friendship is magic.
The set I originally intended to use was Hasty@Life Orb, Surf/Close Combat/Hidden Power Ice/Work Up

No need to run Close Combat when you can just use Mystery Sword.

why exactly do people use physical sets (or even CC for god's sake) if this only has 71 attack?

It's 72 (so many people seem to get that wrong).

The only advantages physical has over special are first, surprise, and second, Aqua Jet. However, surprise doesn't do enough because opponents don't switch to Blissey or Tyranitar normally fearing a pseudo mixed Keldeo with Mystery Sword, and Aqua Jet is incredibly weak even after a Swords Dance. So basically, physical sucks and Keldeo needs to be used for wallbreaking.

Not even, physical Keldeo sucks period.

I mentioned this in the earlier pages of the thread, but +2 Lefties Aqua Jet fails to OHKO Excadrill. That is simply unacceptable; you wouldn't see anyone suggesting Swords Dance on a 72 base attack pokemon otherwise, but Keldeo happens to be Fighting type.

Keldeo needs fighting attacks for two reasons, Blissey and Ferrothorn. With Mystery Sword taking care of those with ease, why do you need CC?

I just tested Frustration and it does the damage it normally would. This is strange. I would think Keldeo would be so pissed off about having a terrible special movepool that it would have like 800 base. Oh well.

Theorymon just failed I guess.

I've recently been running a choiced set(scarf & specs switched around) on a rain team. His scarfed set is an excellent replacement for those powerful SwSw pokes. He also can revenge kill Ttar, just be wary of Chandelure. Really a perfect cleaner for any rain team.
