KoA makes pics, k?

Ok, so I haven't updated this thread in literally many months. All I can say is "whoops, my bad."

Well, with my return to internet life and happiness, My art career has naturally started again. While I have completely forgotten all about Cooper's request (lol sorry), I have done a few more sketches to warrant breathing new life in this thread.

First off was my design for CaP 6. Though it wasn't wildly popular and didn't survive the first poll, I still think it's a solid design and still like it. I haven't drawn many things in months, so you can see the choppiness a bit with this guy:

Next pic is my colored version of Revenankh I've been putting off for almost a year. I quite liked the end result. This might be my best coloring work to date right next to Lapras:

This last one is completely unpokemon related. I tried something new with photoshop and converted a picture of someone dear to me in a more arty style. Overall I think I did quite well and hope I did her justice!

Something about that Rev pose always creeped me out... and now that it has a red eye, it's REALLY creepy. Nice work.

While not a truly significant bump. I nonetheless have something to share just to prove I'm still alive.

It was part of a birthday present for someone. The other pieces in the collection were suck, so yeah.

Also, while I'm at it, I might as well post the sketches of th CaP designs I had for CaP 4 (When I briefly revived).

I liked this one the most, but it looked more lke a Dark/Ground type as opposed to the Poison/Ground typing that eventually became Fidgit. However, should a Dark type be a focus of a CaP, I'm for sure going to resubmit him.

This one was based off of a Basilisk and a Velociraptor. Rawr.

Don't worry my adoring fans, I have more art to whet your appetites.

This first pic is a Gorilla pokemon named Hibabango. I kinda settled on the Normal/Fight type as Gorillas are kickass.

Next is just a panda, named Pander...

AAAh, after learning a brand flippin' new coloring technique, I've got two new pieces for ya'll today.

The first being my design for CaP7, the Vassago. It was my first piece done with the new technique:

The second piece is my absolute favorite thus far in my life. I colored an old pic of Mamoswine I had lying around and decided now was as good a time as ever to color him. What I like most about this piece is that it looks like I just snipped it right out of the anime, haha.

Mamoswine is my favorite pokemon ever, so yeah.

I quite like the CAP7; it's cute, scary and cool.

As for Mamoswine, nice coloring, can't wait to see it in a blizzard seen (if you're gonna do it).

I love your cap7 entry!
Can you teach more about that technique? and tell me what you use as a program? If photoshop is there any settings to be done?

I plan on making a tutorial eventually as I hone my skills with this technique.

In the meantime, enjoy this early V-Day gift!

Finally finished my Shaymin pic. It's not as good as the others. Maybe it's just that I'm not good with "cute" pictures. ._.

Yeah, those are daisies on its back.

If you think this^ is not good.
I am sorry to say sir, you are crazy. The shaymin is awesome.
I'd love a tutorial on how you color things too :).

Good job KoA

Ok guys, you've been beating me down for a tutorial for a bit of time now so let's reach a compromise:

You guys tell me the next pokemon to draw and color, and I'll do a tutorial. (The next sketch will be the subject of the tutorial, you see)

I was considering one of the "top badass" pokemon like Garchomp or Ttar, but it's your guys' call. ^_^

That mamoswine does look like it came out of the anime, maybe you plagiarized! But yea awesome work, I now appreciate mamo a lot more, you should keep trying out some other pokemon. And your newest CAP submission is pretty cool, I'd go for it in a heartbeat if there weren't so many other good submissions...hard to decide
deleting post above and quoting text so i can vote...
Kingdra! Who is pretty badass imo

Do Starmie. I think it'd be a great pokemon to use as a demonstration of the technique, as it's mostly geometrical. And admit it, starfish are pretty badass.

Alright, I'll be doing Starmie and basing this tutorial on it.

Also its unique shape might prove to be good for demonstrating shading.

Starmie's all finished up, tutorial coming in a couple days. Right now, I'm gonna work on my sprite for CaP 7.

Did I miss something, or did you never color in the Steelix? I really like how it looks!

Lapras and Milotic are also awesome; so is Revenankh. I dislike most 'fakemon', so a lot of the art is not bad, but just does not really appeal to me!

I don't know how I missed the Starmie back when you first posted it, but I'm glad CK bumped your thread with a comment -- because I really love that Starmie! Your digital art skills have really progressed KOA. I know you are currently on an "art training sabbatical" and I wish you the best of luck with your studies. You are one of my favorite artists in all of Smogon, and I look forward to seeing what you come up with next!
