League of Legends: Let's Talk About uhhh??

My PBE client on Mac has been freezing up on the LoL logo, so I can't download the latest patch. Does anyone know how to fix it?

No, I can't download PBE on my Windows partition because I'm running out of room.

Well I'm a good enough player in general that no champion is entirely unplayable for me but the ones I play regularly number in the 15-20 range I'd say? The ones I would never seriously touch at all are few and far between.

Ahri, Ashe, Cho'gath, Darius, Draven, Garen, Graves, Karthus, Kha'zix, Leona, Lulu, Malphite, Morgana, Nasus, Nocturne, Shen, Singed, GEMS, Varus. Dat's 19 champs. And I dunno there's maybe ten more or so that I didn't list that I used to play regularly and can play well, I simply don't anymore (like Alistar or GP). AD carry is basically the same regardless of which one you're playing, same with support, the ones I listed are simply my preferred ones. For some reason I keep trying to play Lee even though I'm not that good on him. I'll still play Blitz if he's open probaly, occasionally hit up Jayce or Elise or whatever as counterpicks (well Elise "counters" everything but whatever). Hecarim might make my list soon, he's really growing on me. Blah blah blah.

PENTAKILLLLLLLLLLLLL

First one I ever got. It was great. I went behind them and instagibbed lux and heimer. Then with my teams help killed off the three tankier people.

While Lee and Darius sat on top of me and it was super hard kiting them both T_T. Oh and Lee also denied my quadra with a clutch shield out of nowhere so >:(

congrats tho

Varus is probs my favorite AD carry because I have a bit of a soft spot for him being my first AND second pentakill. At any rate, I don't really get maxing E first when Q seems rather plainly better to me. The CDR per rank is stronger because the base cooldown is shorter, it's a stronger poke spell, it pushes better because you can hit the minions filing down the lane (with plenty of range to spare). E is a bit easier to hit, no argument there, but it isn't difficult to hit Q either because of its stupid hitbox.

From my perspective there's two distinct ways to play Varus. You can either max Q and play a poke lane if you're against a lane with little to no sustain (get BT here imo), or max E if you're against a lane with sustain (get IE here imo).

made the decision a few hours ago to try learning akali and possibly make her my new main b/c she's pretty stupid and voyboy has like a 75% WR with her

rey what do you recommend building because at the moment i'm probably going to go:

boots 4 pot OR 9 pot/2 ward start into cutlass->gunblade->sorc->deathcap->warmog's/GA->lich bane->void staff->GA/warmog's

I always go: Boots 3 (if lux or anyone vs who i need to dodge stuff) or 9 pot 2 ward (if something like karthus) to start, everything else you said is my route except i grab revolver before cutlass

i might not be the best one to ask though, ask folgorio he mains akali and has gotten like 5 pentas with her

gotcha i figure that cutlass is a better first back than revolver due to more burst/slow active but if i can't afford cutlass i'll probably end up going double amp tome or revolver (whichever one is affordable).

when do you find rylai's/haunting guise/hourglass to be acceptable buys

in theory an early seeker's armguard should be very good against heavy AD lanes because it gives a ridiculous amount of stats for less than the cost of revolver

I don't know why you'd ever go double amp tome, going Vamp Scepter is better because the extra 10 AD helps boost your passive spell vamp slightly higher but you have the additional 10% lifesteal so you have 2 ways of healing up instead of just your abilities.

Haunting Guise is fine if you're snowballing after your Gunblade, Rylais is useful against people with high amounts of escapes, Hourglass if multiple AD champs (replace Rabadon's with it vs multiple AD comp IMO).

Seekers rush is fine if you start cloth, Seekers -> Gunblade is fine.

double amp is more burst than vamp scepter and a lane where i can't farm very well is likely a lane where i'm forced to farm and harass almost exclusively with Q and burst with brief Q->R combos meaning that immediate burst and more Q damage is paramount IMO

plus it leads to an extremely fast revolver which goes better with that same mindset of Q spam

conversely a lane where i'm farmed enough to get a cutlass on my first back is likely a lane that i can freely CS in and one where i can bully my lane opponent out with multiple Q->R chasing combos with cutlass's active thrown in for good measure

just my train of thought - of course, if i have an easy lane where i have to back early because of a gank or whatever then i'll probably go vamp scepter if not pickaxe

I like Red pot start on Akali because you can bait dives with it and the bonus AD is always a plus from red pot.

I got a penta as akali in ranked a few days ago but sadly we still lost :(

Also I've found that zed is pretty powerful, I've always thought he was trash lol

Red pot start
why the fuck is everybody starting elixir top lane lately anyway

also LOL LN responded to my thingy man that's hilarious

What's with everyone on the BORK Jax bandwagon lately? It's not even that good on him, certainly not better than Gunblade. A good 2/3 of Jax's damage is fucking SPELL DAMAGE. Spell Vamp is a far more important statistic to him, not to mention his fairly unique scaling off raw AD and AP (the resists on his ult) where Gunblade tops everything. I mean, if BORK continues to get buffed (GUYS IT'S FUCKING PBE JESUS CHRIST DOES EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS ON PBE GO LIVE? SURE DOESN'T) it'll be incredibly broken on absolutely everyone but Jax still doesn't utilize it as well as most others.

As-is, BORK is already largely superior to BT. AD carries are the champions that use it the worst since they're the only ones that generally strive to build crit. STILL AIN'T GOING LIVE ANYWAY SO HOLD YOUR HORSES

the worst thing i've seen is bork + gunblade...you don't need multiple sources of slow and the lifesteal is overkill when you do no damage anyway. i pick one slow out of triforce/fist/bork/gunblade and stick with that for the most part. 9/10 times it's gunblade

red pot start is retarded strong with something like wu mid. you juzst need to get as much out of it as possible while its active. I get fb like 70% of the time as wu mid with red pot w/ or w/o jungle help and just snowball from there.

also krepo SO CUTE

i have found that 9 pot 2 ward on akali is absolutely disgusting because you can't lose lane since you have 1800 health in potions and you have two wards so you're safe from ganks until AT LEAST level 6

if you constantly poke with Q you generally WILL outtrade your enemy unless he/she is a manaless champion with a shield like lee or rumble (who counter you anyway) and even so you can just last-hit with it, hit 6, farm up, and become a monster

i have also found that everyone at my elo underestimates twitch's damage potential which more often than not leads to a really fast first blood for me

as for bork buffs i haven't seen it a lot but it's apparently really strong on nidalee and irelia?
