yeah no. there have been enough c9 frontrunners this year, hope they fail miserably.

breaking news south korea invades usa! a word from supreme dictator locodoco: "all your nexus are belong to us"

watching na lcs isnt even going to be fun after this though...it was bad enough with c9 pubstomping everything but now we have koreans added to the mix. riot should do something about this except they cant because they already set a ~precedent~ with edward

they had like 14 weeks to step up their game while c9 was shitting on everyone lol
i agree with lavos in that na lcs will be dominated by quantic and c9 now which will be boring to watch but i don't think riot need to do anything, i'd say it's a good thing for newer teams to be the strongest. season 2 was dominated by tsm and clg i think so honestly this situation is not that much different imo :/

I don't think Riot should do anything either. It's not like it's a small feat for a team to move from Korea, especially since while the scene is harder there they have better access to scrimming partners and a well-developed training culture, all the way to North America.

I think the most important thing about this is the increased opportunity to observe Locodoco's and Doublelift's very blatant sexual tension. still waiting for that r-rated video since they didn't win a LAN iirc

or it will cause NA to step their game up a shitton

if that were the case then they should have stepped their game up during the summer split when cloud 9 was dominating. and while the teams did all look better at the end of the season (tsm and dig in particular were doing a lot better in august than in june), it still wasn't even a contest in playoffs, c9 shit on dig 2-0 and tsm 3-0. so i don't think adding yet another "op" team is gonna help na teams get better.

i know this is a little premature since we haven't even seen how na fares at worlds yet, but i think all the na teams (with the exception of c9) need to forget about everything else and make LoL their entire life if they want to perform on the level of the koreans and the chinese. multiple top level players like flame, madlife, imp, etc. have stated outright that league is all they ever think about. they focus entirely on one thing and achieve mastery of it - reminiscent of the ancient japanese craftsmen who ate, slept, and breathed their work. na just isn't there yet

omg woong my bb is back.

and NA lcs needs to become better. ves and coast were awful and also a bore to watch. I would much prefer a competitive league where every team is brawling.

edit: wtf watch is almost the same age as me, BS asian genes making it look like hes younger. now i rly want najin sword to win

edit2 : fk work so boring I actually read a hotshot post and liked
it

Would be crazy if frost or blaze join NA

There's no reason for Frost and Blaze to join NA, they get more monies in Korea and they still wouldn't win worlds at the rate that they're playing. Sure you may be top of NA but Korean fans won't follow you anymore cuz you decided to pussy out and go to America.

problem is the players

na is stil using 1st generaton players, there is def new talent out there that beats curent pro players (regi)

but 4 w/e reason we like 2 recycle used n worn out hags from 4 yrs ago

My only concern about this whole situation is the trendsetting of Korean teams coming over and replacing much of NA. As unlikely as it may be (due to all the ca$h within the sponsors in Korea), this would be disastrous for the league scene. We'd lose our league personalities in exchange for these (mostly) players who don't speak English, and further prevent new talent from being discovered. I don't have any issues with the whole Quantic situation (locodoco is still an NA personality and Woong is...well he's special), but it's not something I'd like to see happening repeatedly.

As far as I'm concerned something like that has already happened with Starcraft 2, but I don't know the specifics so I'll leave it here.

THEY'RE TAKING OUR JOBS EVERYONE PANIC.

jeb has it right, the problem with the NA scene is a disproportionate amount of loyalty to players who aren't as quality anymore. Getting more competition into the NA LCS scene means that we can start cleaning out the cobwebs as it were, and finally use the relegation series to rotate and reshuffle the talent around to get higher quality teams. I think people have this very stupid notion that Koreans are better at videogames simply by being Korean, when in reality it's only because they put in more (quality) effort. If we put in more teams like C9 or hopefully this quantic team which exist to just smash the old "standards" the NA scene will get a lot leaner and can grow more efficiently and catch up to the other scenes more rapidly.

Sigh, I was inches from playing the Promo for Platinum, and now I've lost 7 games and am about to fall to Gold II. I gotta build a new rotation of champs to play.

Well, I did learn something though. I've actually started playing against GOOD assassin players, who actually know how to flank, when to dive, and when to stay back. By playing a lot more Support games I've become a lot more aware of what actually happens in teamfights (as opposed to when I was playing Irelia a lot and just charging in). Ultimately, I think I'm slowly becoming a better player.

fk solo q I get a feeder cait that gives fb to my lane then blames me for not vein able to kill a barrier lux when I have 0 jungle pressure

feeders. and dcers (tho I won a 4v5 with support brand, jeb can confirm

rofl @ quantic being dumpstered by coast AND velocity. looks like they won't even be getting into na lcs at all. at least elementz will be in good company in the Worst Sona Ult Club.

Quantic 0-4 against two of NA's relegated teams, ending with one of the saddest stomps I've witnessed in a very long time.

Not even sure how much runes would've made a difference with how poorly they played overall (see: Quantic botlane @Game 2 vs VES).

The circlejerk can stop now.

Frankly, I've been wanting to say this for days. Never assume a team is going to be some sort of "dream team" until they actually play a game or two (see: every single season of major American sports ever).
