SPOILERS! Legends ZA Data Dumps - Adding Info to OP

Effect Sequence is a holdover from previous games, where each number corresponds to a different move effect--mostly for the purpose of letting trainer AI have special routines that guide it on the (approximately) correct way to value each type of move. They go up to over 400, so 103 (which has stood for "priority damaging move" going as far back as Gold and Silver) isn't particularly high in that regard.

Thanks. What determines the cool down/recharge rate for moves?

Do we know where in the story we'll get the Mega Stones for all of these new Pokemon?

X and Y had an awful habit of putting them all in the post-game except for... the Kanto starters, Aerodactyl, Lucario, Gengar, Ampharos (I think) and Abomasnow. ORAS fixed that a bit but a lot of them were only obtainable when you sorted out the bits with the Legendary. I'd really like to use some of the new ones but if it's going to be another scenario where we only get some of the older ones, the starters and maybe a handful of new ones I'll be pretty upset.

I did a chart instead of just naming it all
Green are megas that i think are animated well and have good motion. if you notice a lot of them are the fighting types/anime favorites lmfao

Yellow are megas that have clunky animations but they feel like a natural extension of the og pokemon anyway. like im not complaining here.

Red are megas that just look really bad animated when youre not doing shonen 2d animation cheats. sometimes its pokemon that should be fast and agile just looking bad and clunky and heavy, or pokemon with so many bits and bobs that their limbs cant move properly or they cant twist their torso without stabbing their eye somewhere etc. Where they're kinda designed to only hold the pose they're holding in 2d artwork LOL

Very interesting perspective. When I get the name this week I'll try to keep a note on how the red boxes animate and see whether I agree. I do think the big answer is like mega evolutions are almost always meant to enhance battle performance, and arent really made for casual setting in general. It'd be like having a Magical Girl Transformation to go shopping for groceries or dong taxes. Curious if this is based on seeing them in ZA or from previous appearances in XY, anime, or USUM.

First answer is a yikes but the second is just about exactly what I asked for. You win some you lose some I suppose (got screenshots of the lab?)

I believe it's been seen that generally you will need to fight off a rogue Mega ahead of using it yourself like the Absol in the demo. Also I believe some can be crafted with mega shards found in the overworld. As for the recharge I believe that's related to the speed stat?

1. Do Xerneas, Yveltal and Mewtwo have proper boss fights or are they just the same old boring Ultra Ball lottery?
2. Is Lysandre Labs a dungeon or has it been reduced to one room for a legendary encounter like Turnback Cave in Arceus?
Someone mentioned in the earlier pages the professor gives you mewtwo as a gift, they found mewtwo in that random cave from XY and caught it, but the mega stones don't work for them but it reacted to the player. I think in Canon this is the only time an NPC has caught mewtwo outside of protagonists.

I'm pretty this Mewtwo is the same one Red/Leaf and Ethan/Lyra/Kris fight in Cerulean Cave as well.

Rainbow Rocket Giovanni?

Am I the only one that thinks mega skarmory could be a bit overhyped? Steel/Flying stab isn't that good offensively at all and losing an item really blows.

Also the mega will have to run weak armor which could make it susceptible to priority moves, which it already loses physical defense which weakens it's body press.

Sure it has some decent coverage but I kind of feel as if it's gonna be quite underwhelming in an OU context due to what it loses when it megas

Feels very much like a uu mon to me but we shall see

It might be, but Non Mega Skarmory is so TERRIBLE in SV OU that it actually needed something new to survive. If it gets Sharpness, Night Slash is a good coverage move, flying STAB is not bad and Iron Head can flinch.
It can also still work as a Hazards Mon, since it got big Special bulk now. Something like Spikes, Body Press (a lot weaker, but still strong), Night Slash for Ghosts and Roost can potentially still work. You are spending your Mega slot, but its an usable Mon with it.

It's all fun and games until Skarmory Mega Evolves in front of your Magnezone or Heatran, outruns them, and OHKOs with Drill Run. It can do this with no investment in attack or speed. You don't have to Mega outright, it can stick around as a regular Skarmory until your opponents put you in a position where you don't want to be passive. There's also some silliness like offensive SD, or even just immediately Mega-ing to exploit that sp def buff.

Of course no one really knows what the meta will be like. But there is definitely room for some unique sets to do work. I don't think it's overrated or underrated, it's just correctly rated lol.

You could stay base with sturdy and swords dance or get screens up and swords dance and try for weak armor, then Mega skarmory. I guess its different enough from other suicide birds in that at least you can set up first.

Btw, anyone know if Frostbite and Drowsey replaced Freeze and Sleep again?
Drowsy and Freeze seem to be in based on description text.

I believe that was more of a phone call to explain what happened after you encounter it, considering "Auntie Mable" mentions you battling Mewtwo in Lysandre Labs.

Do we have minimum encounter levels yet? I'm assuming there is no way to get level 1 since there are no Dittos. I was hoping there would be a way outside of breeding but have not heard of it yet. Seems like it will be similar to Legends where a lot of low levels will be a minimum of 30+... so you can't use them at the start of your play through.

Well, if you wait a few months you can transfer low level mons in from HOME.

Losing rocky Helmet and that physical bulk will blow, but I think the high speed and attack should make it less passive as a spiker. I'm not sure SD Sets will really be all that good, but even general sets with Spikes, Taunt, Brave Bird, Roost, should be decent against other bulky Pokemon and preventing other mons from getting layers up. I could even see standard defensive Skarm just run the mega stone since its going to get hit by Knock Off 9 / 10 times anyways, so the speed and attack jump could let it outspeed and surprise KO something or let it get off a fast Spike against something.

SD Sets imo are prob not gonna be good and I think weak armor on this mon will be ass still, but eh, we'll see. I am hoping it gets a defensive ability to make up for the bulk loss - perhaps regenerator or Volt Absorb.
